X-factor and drive for track athlete

Hey i was just wondering what some people thought of this, my body is taking a beating and thought some support supps would be a good idea. 17 6' 155 lbs.. thanks

Are you currently supplementing any BCAAs? Before bumping up to test boosters/higher recovery aids and such you will notice effects (and imo profound effects) from simple BCAA supplementation. A product like Xtend would be worth looking into.

x-factor would likely be a bad idea for track, at least you'd want to take it off season. It works partially by increasing soreness/DOMs, as well as potentially increasing joint pain (during the cycle) all of which doesn't sound so hot for track, but isn't bad "normally".

Drive is used by a bunch of people on track teams.

X Factor is great.. but as said above, look into BCAA's, creatine, or BA before jumping into stuff like this.

Like when I used to be in track I'd do this mix everyday (and still do)-

10g bulk BCAA
10g glutamine
3-5g citrulline malate

Mix it in a gallon of water with some crystal light or generics of it then just sip on it all day.

For my 1000th post! What type of track events do you compete in? Is it more endurance based, or strength like shot-put/jumping?

Like others have said, some basic bulk powders would probably be your best place to start (Like PimpC said, Creatine, Beta-Alanine, Citrulline Malate are all good to try. Just search the forums for dosing.

You'd be beating down your already beaten body by taking X-Factor. Drive would be good, but not a supplement to directly confront the problem. Fish oil, creatine, beta-alanine, cissus, etc. will help build you back up.

As others stated, these support supps are great to help.

X Factor increases many good things, and the only thing I would change is lower the dose to 3 caps a day, this way you'll reap all the benefits of X Factor, without much DOMS. :)

yea thanks a lot for the help, i will have to look into the beta alanine and citrulline maleate. im using purple wrath and micronized mono creatine.

fyi: i run the 400m hurdles and the 400m. also a long and triple jumper.

Just curious ....what is your best time in the 400m.......best jumps in the long and triple? I am a track coach. Good luck

Purple Wraath already contains beta alanine and citrulline. The doses however may not be enough. I think Poseidon-BA would compliment PW nicely and should help your performance at track meets. MST's Cordygen product may also be of benefit.

pr in the 400m is 50.78, and my 400ih pr is 56.9. For the first time in a long time i ran the 200m today with a 22.8 split.

thats very good man. I coach sprinters and jumpers , and so far this year , we have 5 kids that are running sub 51s, and one who run 49. At our district track meet, we went 1,2,3,5 with 50.1s....50.3...50.9....51.2.....not bad.

Our fastest guy in the 200m the other day was 22.4...not great, but suffice. Not sure if you have ever heard of the KR/PR from the gators (brandon james)..he ran 21.7 consistently and 10.6 in the 100m.

Our triple jump best this year is 43'2...not great, not bad.

good luck to u
