While the Boss is Away.....Part Deux!

Solid work my friend. I presume you started out with some Chins or pull-ups?

If not you are really missing out on some back development. What squats are to your legs, is what chins/pull-ups are to your back.

This isn't me, but this is what I was doing yesterday. I had 6 plates per side on, and hit for 2 good reps, AFTER going 1x45/side for 10 to warm up, 2x45/side for 10 to warm up, 3x45/side working set for 8 unilaterally, 4x45/side working set for 8 unilaterally, 5x45/size working set for 6 unilaterally. Then I worked my way back down in a slow drop set.
The rest of my workout was mostly weight I could handle for 10-12 reps, and I filled it in with rest pause, and drop sets.

Today my lats are so sore I could barely push the stupid cart at Wal Mart. Every time my girl said to take a right or left it took some effort. Eventually I ended up stepping on which ever rear wheel I needed to lock up to get the damn cart to turn easier.

Today I was curling 60's, which I've done, but not for 8 reps a side. HOO WEE! I was also doing tons of drop set narrow grip presses for tri's, dips, it was a killer day at the gym for being only bi/tri day.

So much so, that about 4 minutes after I ate I fell asleep with my head on the table. My girl had to wake me up so we could get more groceries.

Then I ate again when we got back an hour later. I was actually feeling hypoglycemic enough to where I had the shakes and that bad feeling in my tummy.

This **** is the cats ass. I can't wait for week 2.

1) I'm disappointed in you guys for breaking the "Baby Got Back" lyric chain
2) I prefer to start the back exercises with pullups as well
3) I also use downloadhelper plugin for downloading embedded videos
4) This page took 583.809 seconds to load. What is up AM?

1a) I tried to keep it going, but Nabisco came in and funked it up, and Easy dropped the ball.

2a) Best back exercise.

3a) You can grab MP3's from Myspace and the like.

4a) Loaded fine for me. Are you on 56k?

Start off with Pullups, and end with pullups for a training cycle. Your back will blow-up and you will be able to do pullups like no other.

I agree. I actually do these then move over and do a pre-exhaustion of bis then get back on the lat pull down, then front lat pull down on the hammer strength, then bent over DB rows then seated cable rows..... and sometimes shrugs depends on the week, one week I go with shoulders for shrugs and the nedxt I do em with back.

LMAO!

i need to do MORE pullups! i can only do about 6 at a time before having to rest. but thats up from 3. so i guess i am progressing. think i will try the pullups before and after.

And, i am talking pullups, not chinups. some people don't know the difference.

Today, I saw some retard using the pulldown machine like a cross between a row and a back extension.

Springtime has brought a lot of upper body exhibitionists into the gym and they do things that make me cringe. Or laugh out loud in some cases.

i've seen TONS of people doing it that way................there was a time when i seriously thought maybe I was the one doing them wrong!:nutkick:

well, if you do it for just the first 4-6 inches of motion that way(right till the elbows begin to bend) they are actually ok, its called scapular rows. makes for a nice way to prefatigue lats, you can go a LOT heavier that way. then you still want to do normal ones afterwards :)

the other nite while I was looking at home gyms I did 3 chinups on a smith cage. That may not sound all exciting, but it was after back + bis that morning, and I still am something of a lardass. I don't recall the last time I did any at full body weight.

Nice jobs, easy.

The dude I saw on the pulldowns wasn't leaning back 4 inches at the beginning of the movement. He was leaning back so he made about a 15 degree angle with the floor by the end of the movement.

Movers and shakers, gotta love em.

If I want my whole body moving, I'll be in the squat rack. :squat:

LOL phera aint no joke!

I was seriously DOWNING the carbs. I was eating double servings of maltomeal for breakfast with tons of brown sugar preworkout and having tons of pb in my milkshakes and eating tuna right outta the can... just eating eating eating and didnt even really bloat. I was taking prostan too though but still anything I was holding I dropped the weak I switched over to superdrol.

Any how man I was going into the gym and just SMASHIN the weights! I was only 170 when I started and went from movin the 65's for db press with trouble to handling 95's with ease like I had pistons for arms and ended up 17lbs heavier in 3 weeks. I also was tri pressing the whole stack, I think it was 160lbs, cant remember with how long ago it was....maybe I can look it up, anywho it was the whole stack and I was just reppin it with ease.

Then Id be finished and the pumps were just ginormous(pic below was after phera workout), Id go home eat and powernap like crazy. At the time I was only taking a few classes at a local college so I was able to devote myself to eating/sleeping/lifiting and it was literally the best cycle ever.... damn I want to recreate that cycles results again... think I will when I run 4-AD 8weeks, phera the first 4 and M-trn the last

why you gotta get me all wound up Dr P???

Thats awesome to hear. Its also good to hear its normal for me to be an eating machine on this stuff. I'm also pissed off at nothing/everyting 80% of the time. Not raging, but just irritated it seems. The number 8 pisses me off for no real reason at the moment. So do Canadian Geese and triangles.

Lately I've switched it up and start out rowing, but since I won't be doing another non natural cycle for most of the summer I won't waste the opportunity and I'll now start with pull downs. Right now I'm doing narrow grip pull downs with the stack, at around 250 lbs. so we'll see how that goes doing them first, and maybe going wide and narrow grip.

Thanks for the advice Xj..er I mean T3stxlr309gbvjtrrd

LOL, kind of hand in hand considering they fly in triangles???

Its all good, Id go from feeling awesome almost euphoric sometimes to feeling like if the guy on the bench next to looked at me one more time id smash his face into the DB rack then spit on him.... crazy stuff but great fuel for pushin the weights harder.

Hi macedaddy. Don't take this the wrong way, but by the looks of your avam, you need to get out more and get some sun, and since we are being honest, the comb-over really isn't working for you. Also, when sitting at the computer, try sitting more upright and work on proper poster.

Your friend,

You should preform these from a seated position, from an upper or lower pulley.

I like neutral grip because I can add the most additional weight that way. I guess those are considered chins and not pullups?

Semi correct. They are neutral grip/semi-supinated grip chinups.

I like to training using all variations, weighted or just body weight. I don't use all variations in a routine, but if one phase I train Pullups, I train Chinups the next phase and vice-versa:

Pullups: wide-grip, narrow, and close
Neutral chin-ups: wide-grip, narrow, and close
Chinups: wide-grip, narrow, and close
