Massive PCT (second coming of Yates)

Well, I'll never be Dorian Yates, but I think I'd look as proportionally ridiculous if I can put on 50 lbs of solid muscle between now and the time I hit 30. I'm 22 and stand at 5'8 185 lbs at around 14% body fat.

My strength base is solid:

1) Deadlift - 520 lbs
2) Bench - 305 lbs (225x12)
3) Squat - 375 lbs
4) Overhead Press - 200 lbs

I about to finish up a low-dose Havoc cycle and am going to begin a PCT with Mass FX, Hyperdrol, and Retain. Goal is to gain 5 lbs of lean mass while losing 2 lbs of fat. I think it is attainable.

I never train abs directly, btw.

Pic of the ol barndoor back. haha

Who says you can't be a powerlifter and sort of aesthetically acceptable at the same time? 5 reps = endurance for me hahaha

Wow, you train HEAVY, don't ya?
That's how I roll. I never "feel the muscle" working as much as I go from point A to point B. I get the weight up and that's all I care about. If it makes me bigger, awesome, but I want the weights to be bigger. Usually, as the weights increase, so does the body. It's not directly proportional, but it's working decently considering it's not my main focus.

I figure if I transition away from the heavy stuff and start incorporating the "feel the burn" kind of stuff, then I might see some scary hypertrophy.

Negatives/TUT's are a great way to see some sick hypertrophy, especially if you haven't done them in a while.

I like to try and do them for a few weeks every couple of months to reap their benefits.

Right on. I might start throwing in things like that, Iso holds, and then just light weight or body weight max-rep kind of stuff. Like sets of 25-100. Just some crazy stuff I haven't done in ages to elicit a different kind of growth response.

Very nice, bro!!!

I'm totally with ya on the low-rep/high weight thing. I went in and did a relatively light squat set today, ending with 405x8 and I think it almost killed me! I'm used to doing that about 3 times and that's it...and never after 3 other sets of 10s.

But I guess that stuff has its place. To be an aesthetically profound powerlifter is an interesting concept - like Marius Pudjanowski (or however the hell you spell his name).

Best of luck with your PCT. If you need help with anything, well...you've already found us!!!

Yes, Marius is a great example...but if you look at the training background of a lot of the best body builders of all-time, they were powerlifters first and then added the other training on top of it.

Guys like Ronnie Coleman, Franco Columbo and Dorian Yates come to mind...

Johnnie Jackson's another one. He's probably the strongest bodybuilder in the IFBB pro-circuit.

I think another one of the reasons we see so many PLer's gone bodybuilders is because bodybuilders tend to make more $$$.

Man, there's some great side discussion going on in this log.

So I purchased my stack today and should have it tomorrow or Saturday. I will begin using it by Wednesday of next week.

I got the previous version of Mass FX, which I loved from using before. It was about $10 less than the new version, but since I shelled out for Hyperdrol and Retain, I figured I'd save a little money. I also threw in my favorite supplement, Glutamine Select by Beverly.

All in all, I spent around $145 with shipping for the AX stack + Glutamine Select...and got a free t-shirt too. haha

Hopefully the stack helps me gain some LBM and drop a pound or two of fat, while getting my natural test/estrogen ratio back in order! Oh, and I went for the Retain because I didn't want to chance having cortisol issues. I've never used Retain before, so I hope it does the trick. I'm not too sure what others think of Retain, or if they notice that it helps with fat loss at all?

Is it Retain2 or the original? From my experience with Retain2, it's quite effective for keeping the fat off. I really liked the stuff (and we will be coming out with a new and improved version hopefully by the summer, LeanFX).

It is Retain 2. Glad to hear it helps with fat loss...I'll be monitoring my results closely and letting ya'll know!

14% with abs showing like that ???

Yikes I am at 50% then ;)

GREAT work!

Good stuff. The more detailed the logs are, the better.

There's a big difference between "Dude, this stuff kicks ass. I took it and I got sick results" and "I took it. I gained 3 lbs, while reducing my bodyfat % by 3%."

Haha....fine....I won't lie. I got myself measured a little while back and the results came back showing 11%...

I dunno...the picture is good and I'm flexing hard! haha

My mass stack arrived and I'm ready to get started. Today's training was excellent!

Got up to a 500 lb deadlift for 1 rep, then attempted and failed at 515, but was very close to locking it out! I got that mother off of the floor and had it close to lockout, but just stalled at around the knees. Disappointing, but I was DAMN close. I am really itching for the triple bodyweight deadlift.

I dropped it to 445 for 2 sets of 4, then 2 sets of 4 with 425.

Incline Bench - 225x8 for 2 sets! followed immediately by flat bench with 225x4 reps and 3 reps the second set.

Rope grip pull ups - 3 sets of 8
Standing Hammer Curls - 50 lbs each hand x 5 reps x 3 sets
Pull downs - 175 lbs for 8, then immediately drop to 105 lbs for 8 (2 sets)
Regular pull ups - bodyweight x 10 x 2 sets
Seated Curl Machine - 3 sets

So that's Upperbody Day 1

Tomorrow is lower body, higher rep day + cardio

Lifting is going well and my strength seems okay, but I AM TIREDDD as all heck. I forgot what "coming down" from a PH cycle was like...

LOL. The PCT Blues strikes again!!!!

Don't worry, buddy, you'll soon be out of your hyperandrogenic state, shortly.

The PCT is beginning to kick in. I feel stronger in the gym than I did during the first week off-cycle. Feeling more like my old self again and my work capacity seems to be getting back to normal.
