Word.

Nobody puts a gun to athletes' heads and tells them to go pro. It is their choice. Consequently each and every one of them should get regular tests done; including blood tests. Put the onus on them to maintain a normal hormone profile.

I'm all for legalizing everything under the sun for personal use but I don't think that competitive sport should come down to who can cram as many pharmaceuticals into their system and be able to sneak in under the radar.

...and that vaulter could vault my pole any day.
 
Marion Jones sentenced to six months in prison

WHITE PLAINS, New York (Reuters) - Disgraced Olympic sprinter Marion Jones was sentenced to six months in prison on Friday for lying to federal prosecutors about her steroid use.

District Court Judge Kenneth Karas imposed the sentence after Jones pleaded guilty to two charges last October, part of a stunning demise of the five-time medalist from the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Jones, who once pulled in millions of dollars in product endorsements, is now in financial ruin

Honestly that is rediculous....6 month for roids??

Micheal Vick run a dog fighting ring and gets what...24 months??....

I think they are making an example of her and its too harsh. So many athletes have done it, take her medals (they did) and her sponsors (they did) but jail time is not fair IMO. She has kids, just not right.

I think a lot of it had to do with her being an 'accomplice' to her ex-husbands multi-MILLION dollar check fraud scheme.

As in, she knew he was doing it, enjoying some of the benefits, and didn't rat him out.

Funny thing is I heard that Vick will most likely now do 12months, LOL. The world is a backwards place my friend.
 
Stop crying for this stupid biatch. She had the world by the shorts and blew it. She was busted lying to federal agents in the roid and bank fraud cases. Trust me,she got a HELL of a lot less time than you or I would have gotten. IMO she got off easy. F that snaggle toothed moron. I couldnt care less about the roid taking, its the utter stupidity that gets me.

Just seems to me that these yanks think that every sports man or woman is on roids which personally i think is a load of crap. Her punishment wasn't harsh at all. Like i said she deserves whatever jail time they give her.

The jailtime was unecessary.

I know she wasn't sentenced to prison for steroid use, but are you really going to blame these people for being on? Their careers depend on their athletic performance. After years of intense activity, your body isn't going to be what it used to be. They are simply trying to keep themselves and their careers running. I can't blame any professional athletes for steroid usage.
