The last times I saw Van Halen live was the first times I saw Van Halen sober.

11.18.04 Tucson, AZ Anselmo Valencia Amphitheater
11.19.04 Tucson, AZ Anselmo Valencia Amphitheater

Unfortunately Edward had relapsed into his alcoholism. Buy the time we got to Tucson he was all but an embarrassment to the band the audience and himself. It broke my heart. Likely the very last Van Halen show I will ever see.

Edward has never ever broken a guitar like that while performing live. Unfortunately by this time he had already embarrassed himself with his poor playing and his inability to stand upright. He had alienated Sammy and Mike and they had segregated to one side of the stage to witness his self destruction.

11.19.04 Tuscon, 2nd night, last show of the tour.



Those shows were some of my most wonderful times of my life with friends and family and for the first time in a lifetime....myself. The first real celebration of my own sobriety. I had come full circle. Unfortunately it was the last chapter of Van Halen for me.

It's really sad B about Eddie. Me and Trauma grew up in a rock family(my dad was in bands and our basements were always studios) So we both took a great liking to playing....Eddie was one of our heros.....He was the man in the early days!! It does come with the rockstar like sadly. We were more into Metallica,and me and Trauma can play most of their early stuff.

After Rehab. Fortunately he got sober again but you always know that the lifestyle he lives and his introverted personality are a recipe for disaster. As someone who got sober I empathize with him and am hopeful that he 'survives' himself.

Priest is hands down some of the best music ever created!! Pain Killer, Metal Meltdown, Electric Eye, Hellbent for Leather....and of course my all time favorite: Turbo Lover
 
I remember staying up all night to recite every word in the Iron Maiden albums (80's) then moving on to DIO, classic Sabbath, then diving right into SLAYER!!!!! Man, I love METAL!!!!!! I'm cranking (very quitely because my wife is sleeping) out some classic Danzig right now!

Trip and I were just talking about Dokken the other day actually. "Dream warriors" is a kick azz song! I don't get to play as much anymore, but there is nothing more i like better than relaxing and jammin sometimes. I feel for eddie bigtime. It's a physical addiction that unleashes a wrath like no other.

Oh hey Leggo - listen bro, I've been thinking. Seeing how your sh!t is so tiz-ight, I was going to recommend to you that stretching might help bro. That was so weird!! I just got this really weird feeling come over me and I got up and stretched reeeeaaaalll good and got all loose and I come back to the computer and I see this comment!!! Fukcing Strech God is omnipotent! LOL

I wanna hit 230 this year. I've taken almost 2 months off now and i'm ready to grow again kid. We need to hit it up in O Town soon man!!
