People follow too many 'sterotypical' stigmas of what society has lead them to believe, which results in a lot of self-destruction of relationships. Strangely, I hypothesize that this leads to the current 52% divorce rate in society today.

I would not be surprised to see that percentage climb to 60% in the next ten years. I'm just gonna go ahead and say this now and call it the 'Reaper Theorm.' so I can put my flag into the ground for this speculation.

People are people. They are not 'machines' set to do certain things at certain times. Emotions don't certainly run like that and neither do people.

agreed.

its just been my experience and experience from friends that guys who fall in love quickly, fall quickly in love with EVERYONE.

it doesnt mean they aren't nice guys, it doesnt mean that their feelings were not sincere, but to me it seems that these people (Not all, but most) mistaken love for infactuation.

exactly. that goes for women that say the three words too fast as well. i bet you men know that though.

But there should definitely be a limit to how quickly you come out and say it (time = variable for each, but take careful consideration), if anything, for your own good. Most people flip out when that happens for a number of reasons. Saying those three words too soon is the best way to ruin a relationship, IMO.

Most definitely. There may not be an absolute acceptable time, but most definitely there is an 'acceptable' time within every relationship. Though the time may be different for each combination of people.

Yeah i hate wehn ppl say "your too young for love".

Although i am young i honestly thought i had a pretty good chance to marry my ex. Im not one of those guys who likes to go out and "play the field". I love me a good girl who shares the same interests with me and who i can just hang out with. My ex was my best friend. Ive talked to her mom a couple times since we broke up and she thought we were gonna get married too.

Im not saying i WAS gonna marry her (im only 19) but i could see it happen. Did i bring it up? No. Had we talked about it a few times? Yes. I just dont thin u can put an age on anything. Everyone is different. I defenently think im gonna get married at an early age because that is how i am. You can generalize things like this...

Also my parents have been dating since they were 19. Im not saying that it affects me but maybe it does? Maybe i have something in me that wants to settle down at an early age? idk

its never tooo young to love, but i feel that many people young and old confuse lust, and infatuation with love.

it can happen though. me and kwych are the walking poster children for young love, i was 16 when we started dating and now we'll be getting married this coming june (6.5 years later)


just be smart about it. make sure you all have your crap straight before marriage happens :)

You were 19 and you cared about someone and thought about marriage which is fine. As I said before, people put an age on things but let's be honest here:

I've seen 18yr olds more mature than some people who are 40-50 yrs old, so apparently maturity is also not 'age dependent'.

People change and circumstances change which is the reality of life and that is fine. People move away, get new jobs, whatev, and feelings change as well.

Society 'tags' age limits on: Maturity, love, marriage, etc.

These have nothing to do with necessarly physical restrictions (i.e. 21+ for anabolic steroids), but more of a 'well, society says so.'

I don't buy into it. These types of things are determined on a person to person basis, and not some type of 'cut-off'.

I feel that people are not independent enough sometimes to make judgements without some type of society predisposed 'stigma'.

yeah, i wasnt planning on proposing any time soon :D

Eh, maybe we will end up together in the long run. You know how once you have gone out for a while, you kinda start to freak out and are scared that you could be with one person the rest of you life? Well i went through at this summer and broke up with her for a month. After a month i realized that i missed her so bad, and that i didnt wanna be with anyone else. I think everyone has to go through that period where u find out that the grass isnt greener on the other side tho you know? Shes going through that right now, but i told her i wasnt gonna be waiting around for her if she wanted me back. Well see what happens.

Also i think there is a lot of pressure to not have long relationships when your young/in college. Everyone was always telling me "wtf are you doing man, you gotta live life in college, be single, ect"
But thats dumb, casue i did everything i wanted WHILE having a gf except **** other chicks (which i didint want to do cause i loved my ex)

Peer pressure can be a bltch sometimes. Even now and then I make a joke that when someone does not want to do something I tell them that its not peer pressure, it's just their turn. lol.

Yup, sure can. I would say 50% of our last break was my friends putting pressure on me. Other half was me being scared/think i wanted to bang other chicks. In the long run tho im glad i did it, because it made me appreciate her sooo much more.

Also my ex, she was probably a 7/10, but the think about her was she was so cool, like i loved to hang out with her. I think for long term relationships you have to have that. I usually date 9-10s (no e brag) but I never liked to hang out with some one as much as her. Her personality and stuff vastly outweighed her looks and made her a 10/10 in my books...
 
oh man a while back, I said the three unspeakable words too early. Everything just kinda went downhill to that point. man was I stupid too. But hey, you learn from your mistakes.
 
I hope i'm laughing soon about my recent breakup which finished for good on the wkend. If there's one thing that really gets on my nerves its double standards and i think i have just witnessed the biggest case of that in my life. I guess its my own fault for not putting an end to all of her sh1t earlier when it all began. It's frustrating when you forgive someone when they treat you like crap but they wont do the same when u do something minor.

They are fine man, much like the Americans i guess. Sure there are your usual bunny boilers but most are pretty cool. My recent ex is Brasilian. They are a whole other breed. The most unreasonable people i've ever met in my life. Ok for them to do one thing, but hell no if u do it yourself.
 
I've been to England, France, Spain, Portugual, Italy, etc but I've never been to Australia before. When I was doing my undergrad there was a lot of study abroad programs specifically in Australia that I wish I went on.


I'll have to plan a trip out there sometime. Its going to be a far ass flight from the US out there.

ppff the flight from the states is nothing. its like 12 hrs right? im flying home from London this sunday. Leave sunday night, arrive tuesday morning. Now that is a long ass flight.
 
Well, this goes back a few years, but...
I saw my first serious girlfriend at a party about 5 years after she broke up with me, I was devastated at the time and later learned it was because I was the only "normal" guy she had been out with and needed drama. Anyway, it had been 5 years and I had gained 80 pounds and still had my 6 pack(tall ecto, 160-240)

She was there with her same skank friends from high school and she was all over me, she looked WAY hotter than ever!

But I knew since the break-up she had been stripping, into drugs, treatment and had her own room at the abortion clinic. She begged me to take her back and gave me the "it was the biggest mistake of my life" speech. And fellas', it was awesome to politely tell her to go to hell.
