I voted for Flex. Reason: IMHO most magazines cover the same stuff over and over again, so I've pretty much read them all over the course of the last 13 years. Flex seems to cover a little bit better over all work out ideas, isolations, etc. I don't subscribe, but its at my gym. Does this count as a sentence? I do tend to read most publications that focus on more of the hard core training, but what you read and what you do are 2 different things right? Who am I kidding, I'll read anything you put in front of me. My girlfriend caught me reading her Redbook this last weekend.
I voted for Fitness RX because they have a cool section where they have the latest scientific news and studies in variouse catagories! Now hand me thy PSlin please!
Well my favorite print was Penthouse, before the internet, other than that I dig Sports Compact Car.
But I voted for Ironman because I like reading what Skip La Cour has to say and Charles Poliquin also submits articles.
However, I don't buy any muscle rags. Just peep them at the grocery store and the like for the ads, and see if they have anything interesting thet haven't already covered...
I voted for "Other" - which is "Reps", because it has actually has information that is HELPFUL. The main reason I buy it is because of the science behind the readings. It's not filled with crappy MT promos either! When I see a cover that reads, "Add 2 inches to your arms in 15 days, in only 15 minutes a week" - I have to pass. Most of the magazines listed above are only out for the dollars it generates through advertisment that fills the magazine, and ultimately takes away from the content.
I voted for mens health because it has the most interesting articles and the least amount of hype in it out of any magazine. It always has a wide variety of stuff to read, and I'm not constantly skipping through 5 page muscletech ads. On top of that I feel that Mens Health contains the most helpful advice on diet, and even has recipes for good stuff every month. The pull-out training posters they have can be helpful for stirring up your training too. I plan on getting a new subscription now that I'm at a new address, and it will definitely be for Mens Health.
I voted for MD because of sheer volume to start with, even though it's full of ads. I enjoy the supplement science and supplement review sections. They have a nice mix of male and female physique. Usually nothing to raunchy either, if I wanted porn I would buy it, which I don't. It's really the only mag I buy. None of them really compare to the forums for me.
MD - has the biggest collection of new studies summarized those first few sections.
I like that because I don't have the time to read PubMed in depth nearly as much now days. If I see something in MD that catches my eye - I'll go find the article online and read the whole thing.
(They don't always come to the same conclusion I would.)
I've got an idea for a component in a supp using this method.
I voted for Muscular Development because it has the most scientic information of any bodybuilding magazine. Sure others have information about supplements, etc... but MD goes far beyond the others. There are up to date articles on drugs, supplements, diet, sex etc... There are also sections in the back where pro's answer the average joes' questions every month. There is full contest coverage, and even a femme physique section. Last but not least, The Ramblin Freak is always a good read By far the best mag to read, and the biggest and most informative of them all!
I voted for Muscular Development. They seem to have good information and have some light hearted funny stuff thrown in there too.
I voted for Men's Health just because reading the bodybuilding specific magazines leads me to believe that they interest in making their readers better. They often have pro workouts which would leave anyone who isn't 'on' broken down and over trained. The amount of time they spend touting supplements was why the guy on the cover looks like he does is borderline criminal. Men's Health at least presents the reader with achievable goals, healthy solutions, and doesn't fill in every blank space with another add featuring a pro bber saying he got big and ripped off of caffiene and white willow back extract.
Muscular Development has some of the most informative articles I've read in a while. Obviously I may be a bit biased because Sebastian has some stuff published in their, but I was just skimming through it today and didn't feel like I was getting ads every other page. The table of contents let's you know exactly where each article is, and the thickness of the magazine is definitely icing on the cake. There is too many thin magazines that are 80% ads of juiced up models and ineffective products. Muscular Development, most definitely has my vote for one of the top magazines being published out there right now.
I voted for Muscular Development because they tend to have the most articles involving research and development of steroids, igf, gh and other commonly used bodybuilding paraphernalia. The authors generally have a decent sense of humor which adds some entertainment to it. I also like the fact that they have whole sections dedicated to certain things such as: fatloss, supplements, nutrition, supplements and etc. The ads are a bit much but I don't mind it as long as there is enough substance in between them. Oh yeah I do however miss the plethora of beutiful women they used to cram the pages with
I voted for Muscle and Fitness because I enjoy reading it the most out of other magazines. Its funny because if you read Men's Fitness and then read Muscle and Fitness, they usually give you complete opposite work out tips. I also notice slightly less roided up guys ini M&F. It's cheap to, so I subscribed. Pick me for Pslin!!
I voted other. My choice is "Muscle+Fitness HERS". I'm not a women, but I read alot of these magazines and it provides as much information, for less cost and way less advertising. And most interestingly, it provides information you don't find in the other ones (I often find them redundant).
That being said, MF in general does run quite a bit of questionable information, with not nearly enough scientific backing, but most of them are like that.
voted for Flex, they have some great articles, nice routines and excellent nutrition tips. Did not see my favorite MILO from Iron minds
If your post was quoted, you have won. Winners, please PM me your addresses.I voted MUSCULAR DEVELOPEMENT because the articles remind me of what I read on here. Its nice to read offline now and then. And its kind of neat to see ads from companies I have seen "grown up" on the forums. That AND I was mentioned in a USPLabs ad featured in MD

I have a training log going and I'd be happy to throw this in it but not sure if it would be compatible with CKD other than with refeedsWhoever logs PSLIN with daily updates for 30 days will recieve a free bottle of USPlabs product even if it's a non responder reveiw.

Powerlifting USA should be included in the poll! Thats my favorite magazine. You get good advice from all of the top lifters/coaches in the sport without them try to sell you something. The "6-page ad reports" in most magazines (and starting to appear in PLUSA much to my shagrin) are retarded. In most of the weider publications there are at least 3-4 of them.
I am also partial to this mag because I am a powerlifter, lol.
bumpDid you get mine Mullet?
But what if some people have forgotten about the thread? :stick:we have to recieve all 15 PMs before any ship or it gets confusing.
