Your daily fiber intake and you

I was just curious if anyone on the board here monitors their fiber levels the same way their monitor their macros? I've read that 35g of fiber a day is recommended for the average person and that people that are body building or training need to increase their fiber intake.

Do ya'll know how much fiber you're getting? Are you supplementing any additional forms of fiber into your diet and if so what?

I'll go first. Sadly my fiber is a little low. It is usually around the 30g mark every day. I include 2 teaspoons of psyllium in the evening to add an additional 9g to my total. I am working on it though. If it were easy, everyone could do it.

Unless your having constipation problems, no need to up it. If you are having this problem (and many of us do), try some bran cereal. Also, flaxseed is a great source of fiber and healthy fat. Whole wheat breads and pastas are good also, but may pose problems to those on low carb diets. Up your berry/fruit consumption, and stay away from bananas and peanut butter.

Fiber One is your new friend. I had issues a while ago, and since I started taking in around 60g of fiber a day, all is well. Make sure you're drinking enough fluids as well.

FiberOne is a staple. 2 cups a day when I am not dieting. Otherwise when I am it's psyllium husk powder

How many grams of fiber are you getting in a day though? That's what I was hoping to get outta you guys.

I'd have to look on the box. Well over the RDA. I always suffered form slow bowl - constipation even when eating plenty of vegetables and drinking plenty of water. Once I went FiberOne, I'll never go back.

I usually take in around 40gr or so a day, primarily from fruit sources(love my raspberries).

i believe that it is recomended to get 25 grams a day.

i take in about 45-50 usually to keep everything moving along.

I had an idea that my fiber intake was high, but it wasn't until I started putting everything into fitday that I realized I was getting about 50-60g of fiber daily without even trying! Oats and veggies go a long way.

Also Fitday doesn't subtract the calories from fiber from your daily totals so I have to keep that in mind as well.

Since recently switching to the anabolic diet, I have been getting 20-25 with the help of flax meal. Before that I was getting a ton of fiber (40+).

I don't keep up with the actual number, but I try to get as much natural fiber is possible. I love ****ting those Los Angeles class nuclear submarines twice a day.

Now, call me a prude if you want, but I don't think it's good policy for the Navy to hand over a billion-dollar piece of equipment to a man who has "Welcome Aboard" tattooed on his pen!s.
