I tried GVT for the first time today and was really excited b/c it's very different than how I've ever trained. It was chest/back today and I am using incline and b.o. rows for my two 10x10 exercises and flys and lat pulldown for my finishers 3x10.
I had planned on using 105 for both incline and b.o. rows. After one set I KNEW it wasn't going to happen, so I dropped down to 95 lbs. I still only made it to 5 sets of 10 (including my first set @ 105). This was really tough and the tempo is KILLER with a 4 sec negative. Felt great though.
I'm wondering if I should try 95 again next week or lower the weight more?? Im pretty sure I could get to 7 or 8 sets of 10 with 95. Thoughts? Tips? Experiences???
I really like the gvt style the pump was painful by the finishers

what the hell is GVT?
German Volume Training. Figured I'd give it a try it's very different than what I normally do. It's 10 sets of 10 reps with a weight you can do for maybe 20. Once you complete, move up in weight. Pumps have been unreal thus far. Fell over on squat day. Good times
