Workout frequency 64 yo on the comeback

As background I am 64 and have been back I in the gym for about 16 months. I've lost 95 lbs with maybe 20 to go and have progressively gotten stronger. I am doing it all with diet and exercise along with a lot of good , mostly SNS / CEL supps. I usually go to the gym 3 days a week. I do a push , pull , leg split. I do about 45 minutes of cardio and lift for an hour or so. Recently I've tried to bump that up to 4 days a week. I do notice that on that back to back day turnaround I have to reduce weights over my usual workout weight. I do still go to failure or close to failure. Finally the question, is it better I get 3 days where I can push max weight or does that 4th day make sense despite having to reduce weight?

Id do as much as you can TO STILL MAKE PROGRESS and absolutely no more. A rough session here or there is ok. But if 4 a week consistently make you backtrack... you have your answer. (58 in a month)

I would break it up where I push pull weights twice a week and then cardio and smaller accessories like core, biceps, calves, conditioning like sled pulling / pushing, ropes etc.. on the other two days. Pushing to failure on the same exercises 3-4 times a week is a recipe for injury and mental fatigue.
