anabolicrhino said:Democracies demand discourse between opposing veiw points.
When an individuals opinion is repressed because of fear of retribution, then the democracy becomes a despotic state.
When xenophobes (those that "fear" things that are"different")
try to "frag" individuals with "different" viewpoints, then the democracy is moving toward despotism(which is bad!) I think that fits rather nicely, don't you?
Allow me to be brutally honest here.
The obvious has obvously escaped you. It got fvck sh1t to do with 'different viewpoints'. It has everything to do with mistakes (some honest, some deliberate), errors (some knowingly, some unknowingly presented), falsehood, perverted logic, mistakenly labelled as "different viewpoints" . They are not just 'different" They are plain WRONG and not really worth a piss at! The facts are wrong. The logic is fvcked up.
You got fragged b/c you were trying to ape Mad Howl Dean's political spin. You thought spinning is a cool debating technique. Wrong! Spining just shoots your credibility to the toilet.
You want to be taken seriously? Easy. Get your facts correct. Don't make things up. Present the complete facts. Don't pick and choose bits and pieces. That makes you sound like Mad Howl Dean's cronies.
You don't go around demanding people respect your 'different viewpoints' or learn from your 'different viewpoints'. Your so called 'different viewpoints' have to be worth paying attention to and worth learning from, in order for people to consider taking them seriously.
It is about the merit of the content. Just b/c you have something that is 'different', doesn't automatically mean it is worth anything. These days and age, people automatically presume that just because they have something to say, they have a right to demand others listen, respect and learn from them.
