why do identical compounds have different chemical names

There are many, but let me give one example. Why does "Superdrol" go by the chemical names

2a,17a-dymethyl-5a-androst-3one-17b-ol
OR
2a,17a-dymethil-eticholan-3-one-17b-ol

Apparently the chemical structure varies slightly, so I would imagine different but similar results. Can someone enlighten me?

basically its because internationally there is more than one way to name the way the molecule is structured. that's what the "2a,17a-dymethyl-5a-androst-3one-17b-ol" as a name is, just a description of how the chemical bonds are in the item.
