Here's a good place to look: Invalid Link RemovedJonesersRX7 said:I want to start training here soon. If anyone knows of good places in AZ, more around N. Phoenix/Scottsdale let me know.
I compete in BJJ tournaments and MMA tournaments. Member of Team Revolution.intv said:I train, but don't compete. When my schedule clears up and I get to go to class steadily, it really makes me want to compete, but then I remember why I don't when I'm working 60 hours a week and going out of town, lol. We train standard mma stuff - stand up, clinch, and ground. We spend lots of time (70% of class probably) sparring stand up and clinch. I really only average 2-4 hours a week in class. I probably spend another 4 hours a week working the heavy bag and doing sand bag work. Not nearly enough training to compete!

cheers
You could probably fight 155 (I think that's the right weight) no problem. I normally weight 230 and have no trouble dropping down to 205. Plus, you can work with your opponent on weight. Some guys are gool if you're a 5-10 lbs over others can be real pricks..just depends.asianid said:I've been thinking about doing some competing, but I'd really like to drop some weight first. 5'7" and 180lbs is not where I'd want to fight.
Yeah, that's what scares me. I weigh 230 at the moment, which is low for me. At that weight I'd be going up against some diesel mofo's. Would like to think I could get down to 205, but I would feel so skinny.SUPERMAN0383 said:You could probably fight 155 (I think that's the right weight) no problem. Yea I watched a guy who fought last night in the superheavy weight..how fought light heavyweight two months ago..he should fight in the middleweight his **** got owned! I'd like to cut to 205 and fight superheavy weights. : )Kristopher said:Drop to 215 then cut 10lbs, the lighter i get the better i feel and the more agility/athletisicm i have,
its definately a good idea to go against guys who are gonna be the same size as you![]()
I fought in taekwondo tournaments when i was in college at 140lbs. But then I started lifting after I graduated and I really don't want to lose the gains I've made. I think I may try to drop down to 170lb and fight. That'll prob put me around 10% BF.SUPERMAN0383 said:You could probably fight 155 (I think that's the right weight) no problem. I'm not sure if there is a 170 lb division. I know of 155 and 180 but I'm sure you could fight 180. The actual TKD won't really help you in fighting but the experience of competing will.asianid said:I fought in taekwondo tournaments when i was in college at 140lbs.
