White Rapids

Big shout out to Sean1332 for hooking me up with some White Rapids to try out. My bff schizm cleaned up big-time on the CL promo and has several tubs coming his way so I told him I expected a ziplock with 2 scoops coming to me after he claimed his booty. Well, Sean decided to get me my own and that's super thoughtful -- props!

I've been using the same pre-workout since about April of 2014 and haven't changed it, save for the occasional trying a sample of something new. It's a good product and has ingredients in it that I like -- I don't jump from product to product anymore (insert "I'm gettin' too old for this s---" .gif here). But I do have to say, when I saw the label show up for White Rapids, it was very similar to what I already use in a lot of ways and looked straight-forward (no prop. blends) and well-dosed (at 2 scoops).

And I dosed 6g of bulk citrulline malate along with that, anyway. So, as you can see, it brings it even closer to White Rapids.




The differences for White Rapids (at 2 scoops) from my go-to product are:

- Citrulline Malate = (*because of what I added on my own from the start)
- Betaine -500mg
- Glycerol +2g (not in my go-to at all)
- Agmatine +500mg
- Total Caffeine Content -18mg
- Alpha GPC +100mg (not in my go-to at all)
- Evodiamine +10mg (not in my go-to at all)
- Toothed Clubmoss +100mcg (not in my go-to at all)
- Beta Alanine -3.5g (not in WR at all)
- Crea-Trona -1g (not in WR at all)
- Beet Root -500mg (not in WR at all)
- Sodium Nitrate -250mg (not in WR at all)
- CDP Choline -211mg (not in WR at all)
- B3, B6, B12, Sodium (not in WR at all)

As far as the heavy hitters are concerned, you can see that these are really similar in a lot of ways.

The flavor I was sent (because there are 3, from what I saw) is Tropical Pineapple -- and it's delicious. It's got 6g of cit mal in those 2 scoops, so you know it's got that working for it. But a great job on the taste for sure. Now I haven't done much with GMS since the days of GlycerGrow (still have a nearly full tub in my cupboard), but one of the main reasons I never used it regularly was because of the taste and the fact that it didn't mix into anything worth crap. So I was very happy that this mixed up easily in a shaker cup without a huge layer of foam on the top. With my pre-workouts, I basically chug them (or drink them in 3-5 big drinks over the course of 2-3 minutes) regardless of taste. That said, this is one that I could definitely sip on if that was my goal.

My workouts vary every other week. I rotate on an A/B/A/C/repeat pattern where A is a heavy week (4-6 rep range), B is a high intensity/circuit week (4x12's or 3x15's with no more than 60 seconds rest at any point in time), and C is volume week (4x25's and such with crazy burnouts at the end). This happened to get here on Saturday (after I already got home from the gym) and yesterday was chest day in my heavy A week. This usually gives a decent pump, but nothing compared to the volume week.

The only other variable that was different aside from the changing of the pre-workout was the fact that the wife and I hit the buffet for Sunday dinner, so I had more cals/carbs in me from the night before than what I normally do. So that may have played a role, as well.

Anyway, my workout followed my general trend of making slow/steady progress (increases of 5 lbs. on a lift of a few extra reps on the final set). That said, near the end, it was becoming increasingly harder to fatigue myself and my endurance seemed to improve (I finally stopped after my last station of seated cable flys after my chest was no longer feeling it, but my biceps were). The crazy thing, though, was the pump was definitely more pronounced. I was not expecting this at all as I get great pumps anyway and wasn't going out of my way needing something to improve them. But I felt like a monster walking around lol. On chest and leg days I'll usually wear an actual t-shirt with sleeves, whereas every other day I'll rock a gutted old t-shirt with a beater underneath it. So, I couldn't see the outside of my chest like I could on those days, but rocking one of my USP barbell shirts, I was just swollen. My chest used to be overgrown compared to the rest of my muscles, but it's since become a lagging body part after some injuries. It was nice to have it feeling so full.

So we'll see how heavy back session goes tonight, but for Day 1, I was thrilled. Let's see how much of it was the food and how much was the White Rapids.

Yeah, I lucked out. I told Sean it showed up and smelled good and he was like "wait, what flavor did you get?" lol. I'm sure the others are gonna be top notch, but out of the 3, based on titles alone, this is the one that I would've picked.
 
Looks like a good formula.. What's the MR pre called?

Pump Juice Extreme

I seriously hate the name, but it's a fantastic product. The flavoring is on point, too. My favorite is strawberry margarita -- and if you add the extra cit mal on your own, it tastes even better.
 
How was your energy on WR?

Felt good once I was in the gym. Definitely came on slow, though.

I actually was in a mood where I didn't want to go lift at all and still forced myself to go. Once I got a couple sets in, I was focused (not hyped or anything, but focused).

In all fairness, though, I've been feeling like that more frequently over the past month or two. I blame the good weather on not wanting to be inside and also just feeling unsatisfied at work. Just a combination of not wanting to be where I am if that makes sense.

Just wanted to update you guys.

I've since used this on a few more workout days, including the start of my high volume week. Had my arms session on Thursday and it was legit. Crazy, painful pump and swell. Went out of town for the weekend, so crammed 2 workouts back-to-back on Friday morning and it was good, but not as noticeable because I skipped a few burnout lifts so we could leave on time. Used it again last night for high volume chest and wow, talk about puffed up.

Really digging it so far. And to comment on the taste a bit more, it almost tastes like if they had a Smarty's flavor for pineapple; there's something about the taste and what almost seems/feels like when you end up with that little tiny bit of grit when chewing them up. There's nothing left over in the shaker, mind you, so not like eating granules or anything; but somehow it almost seems like you get that on some of the swigs. But anyway, it's excellent and I love it thus far; just adding in my beta alanine on my own. Very curious to hear from others on the taste of the other flavors, because this one is on point.
 
Hm I like the comparison to Smarty's. I'm sure the citmal contributes to some of the candy like tartness.

Glad you're getting some good pumps! It's helping me out endurance wise. I'll be moving into more "pump" training next week.
 
Tried 2 scoops today
Thanks to Quads of Steel for sending me some samples

6g Citrulline, 2.5g Betaine = Both legit doses of the products and really were nice for leg day (lactic acid prevention and also performance)

Glycerol at 2g and Agmatine at 1g = Too much pump, I do not like a lot of pump when training legs especailly when i try and go heavy for squat, but it is what it is. For a leg day i would rather have more energy/focus (Noots/Stims) than more pump agents

The Alpha GPC was really noted, that on top of a lot of stims was a very smooth after i got over the initial burst of energy that was a bit too strong to my liking, almost felt a slight crash, but my tolerance is lower than most on here ( i saw someone stack it with 300mg caffeine)

Fruit Punch flavoring as i stated before was on point with the FP, better than Stimino and a denser fruit punch offering. CL continues to improve their flavoring game without question.

I mixed 2 scoops in 12oz of water and it was very flavorful and really rich in flavor. Have to say the pumps were stupid good on my accessory movements, but hindered my ability squatting heavy (hate pumps for that purpose)

Focus aspect from Alpha GPC was very present at 2 scoops and caffeine at 300mg blew me out of the water right away then the focus aspect kicked in for at least 90-120 minutes into the post-workout period.

Very very pleased.

1 Scoop WR:

Taste in 6oz water --> Still a very strong Fruit Punch Flavor, and by strong i mean dense in flavor and a long lasting aftertaste. Real solid.

Effects:
I train upon waking (5AM) took it right away and hit the gym for chest/shoulders
hit a new PR On bench (315 x 5) at 166-167 Pounds, Mood/Focus/Energy was solid even with the lower amount of Noots from 1 scoop compared to two (maybe better sleep last night?).

Pumps were still strong at 1 scoop and energy was MUCH better at 1 scoop than 2 (150mg caffeine) enough to get me through my workout and get home, was not long lasting like 90-120 minutes but more around 60 min of good energy/focus.

Myself 1-1.5 scoops will be my sweet spot for other stim junkies possibly 2 scoops on top of the pumps that are pretty solid at that dose

At 1 scoop you still get a good amount of glycerol (1g) and 500mg Agmatine which dosed pre-workout will aid pumps.
 
I am interested in trying this as well. Love the non-prop blend and the overall profile is exceptionally solid
 
I love it at 2 scoops and ~300mg caffeine is about the dose I want typically since I don't want other stims in there.

But the pump ingredients are definitely strong enough at 1 scoop if you want to pop a caffeine tab with it.

300mg split into two different caffeine's (dicaffeine malate and caffiene anhydrous)

Doesn't hit nearly as hard as 300mg straight caffiene

The stim is mild IMO at two scoops (300mg split 150/150) I love it

I haven't felt crashed or jittery at all. Usually too much stim and being underneath a heavy load is a terrible feeling but this is right where it needs to be.

Exactly. I think the blend nails it.

A reason for this is because Dicaffeine Malate is just under 75% caffeine so you are not getting as much straight caffeine as you would with caffeine anhydrous.

glad you liked it. Double BWx5 on bench is pretty sick too. It's a 1scooper for me a couple times a week. It tastes like smarties FP for sure

brb never cycled off stims ever.
 
Hard to compare a stim when you ha e been on stims for a while would be better to cycle off and then use it to be 100% honest and as a stand alone
 
Would be pretty telling if you can notice a difference from one day to the next, though.

Well I ordered mine and got two freebie tiny tubs of it, (not direct form manufacture though) so I know they make it in small, 5-serving size containers. I plan on stashing them at my desk at work and in my glovebox in case I forget to pack my PWO with me :D
