For pulldowns:

1) I think you really want to go for a moderate grip position. Too narrow and too far I just feel leads to over reliance on the biceps.
2) Pulling the bar too far down also requires too much biceps. It's fine to stop near where the bar reaches the level that your mouth is at.
3) Your torso should be nearly vertical with perhaps a slight bend backwards. You shouldn't be leaning back at all, that just makes the exercise a row. But it's not a row, it's a pulldown, supposed to hit difference areas of the back entirely.

hmm well then i am almost doing bodyweight :) I asked the trainer at the gym, and she said you should hit sternum with it. When you say moderate grip, do you mean just inside the bends on a regular wide grip bar so where thumbs are just outside of shoulders?

Sweet mother of Mary... there is almost no one in my office today. Boss is gone, but there is ONE guy from my department here and I just know he'll run to the boss if I skip out. Damn it. Oh well at least I have leg day to look forward to in an hour or two.

:squat:

Sup Wilman.

Anyone here had good experiences with the 5x5 program? I've used it before, but it was about two years ago. I'm thinking about giving it a try starting in January with my forslean/BA/Cissus stack.

I guess the best way to put it is: you go to where you get maximum contraction in the lats. If that requires you pulling the bar to sternum, then do that. I can squeeze the lats as hard as I can with the bar above neck level.

This all might depend on your grip, too.

My grip is usually half way or a little less than that onto the bent sides of the bar.

Sup N? I have used 5x5 before. I like low reps best. I've used 5x5 for DL and Rack Pulls.

Do it :head:

I'm working on putting together a program based (i.e. copied) from the Bill Starr 5x5 program.

Because after reading the study USPlabs showed when they released Bolic. The supplementation of Forslean at 10% purity to a bunch of dudes who didn't change their diet or workout levels reduced bf by 9 lbs and replaced it with 8lbs of lean mass. So I'm figuring 1) If thats true why isn't everyone taking this supplement and 2) that if I focus hard on a program designed to make me big and strong that maybe I can enhance that effect (if Forslean claims are true).

I mean a recomp like that would be sick, and there is nothing better than Squats, Bent Over Rows, Military Press, and Bench Press (I hate bench press).

So I figure, I'll stick with my 4/wk schedule until the week of January 28th. And at that point, I will begin dosing my supplements and start the 5x5 program. I'm waiting until then because I have LASIK surgery on the 17th (Im super stoked, although its costing me $5250...ouch) and they don't want me lifting for at least the week after. And the first few weeks of the 5x5 program are building up to your 5 rep max, so they shouldn't be as strenuous.

So by the end of January I should be setting up a log to follow the 3 month progression. Because I don't think anyone else is going to do a 3 month log to assess Forslean. See if that study was really all that it said it was. :nutkick:

Any of you guys working next week or do you have the entire week off? I've got to make an appearance at work Monday, then drive to my 'rents place after work.

So here's a summary of my experimental mdrol pulse week:

Monday: 10/10 pulse. everything gravy. workout seemed enhanced. some difficulty getting to sleep.
Tuesday: uncanny morning wood, seemed like a good rebound.
Wed: uncanny morning wood. 10/10 pulse. workout went well, but started to notice hypo/lethargy towards the end. noticing mood enhancement.
Thursday: uncanny morning wood. mood enhancement. excellent sleep and recovery this night.
Friday: 10/10 pulse. workout was ok, not a strong day, but I had more focus on form. I really started to notice hypo/lethargy, though Everything started seeming distant/unreal and I was like a zombie walking back from the gym. (not that there's anything wrong with you, zombie.) Also noticing slight back pumps and annoying quad pumps. The quad pumps really prevented me from the weight I wanted to use on squats. Supposed to be doing 315x6, but I would only have 225 and my quads completely lock out further contraction at the 8th. This is with 2.8g creatine and 1.6g taurine in the morning, that ratio might need to shift in the future.

I also gained about a pound or two or three, staying at about the same amount of belly fat on a slightly calorie deficient diet.

I think further experimentation will be done with PPlex pre workout instead. But this will wait until the new year.

I'm off until January 2nd.

In fact I'm going to start packing now and leave town in an hour or so.

I think I'll be putting in some serious work with my brother's xbox 360 next week, so please pardon my absences from the boards.

Well then Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you BP. Work that Xbox 360 til it sweats. Just bought Mass Effect for 360 a couple days ago.

So far I just started playing in my spare time. I have an older, ****ty TV, but even on that the graphics are crazy sweet. So I stopped playing the game a couple days ago (after only a few hours of gameplay) and am waiting until after christmas because Im getting a big screen HD TV. But so far not only the game play, but the RP aspect of the game have been SWEET. I'm still getting used to controlling not only my character, but my "squad" as well. Takes some time, but so far I give it a 9.5/10. I can't give it a 10 until I see the rest of the game.

From a former Mero Mero of La Familia

Well tell the crew Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
Tell BP to hit me up next week. I should be around after xmas...
And you have agreat one as well
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!

Sadly E, I'm at work too...but no one else is, so I'll send out a few e-mails to prove that I was here and then bounce at lunch time and head home for the holidays.

So i've dropped all other supplementation now, i'm only taking multivitamin, a b-complex, resveratrol, 1-t and mega-trn (well and dhea). No stims now, nada de eso.

I'm really not noticing anything from the mega-trn tho. Was pondering dipping into the shelf of doom for something else to pulse or possibly to run full time with the 1-t. I'm almost 3 weeks in now.

So...you are ALL-NATURAL now :toofunny:

Be patient oh ADD one...the 1-T will do it's job. Just keep eating and training.

epistane tacked in could be nice

At least go 2 full weeks at 660 before you decide.

I will be needing some advice soon as well...

Epidrol/Propadrol stack in the next couple o' weeks.

Thinking about doing a cut in January, then start a 6 weeker in Feb to be done by mid March. Goal is fat loss first while maintaining or adding LBM.

Will be eating 500 above maint...sound right? Hi carbs Hi Pro for the 1st 4 meals...Fat and Hi Pro last 2 meals.
