cardio or lifting?

I have read many different opinions, but no solid evidence on what I should do first.

so in your opinions (professional or otherwise) when I walk into the gym, should I a.) go straight upstairs to the treadmill or b.) stay down stairs and hit the weights?

tell me what you do too... :cheers:
 
Lift then cardio no matter what your goals are (that does not include if you want to warm up on the treadmill a little bit before hitting the weights.)
 
definitely lift first, other than as occ said maybe 5 minutes at a medium jog to warm up before lifting. a full HIIT cardio session should leave you wiped out enough to not be able to lift :)
