I'm occasionally guilty of this, but I'm trying to improve. And frankly, I'd say it's the only workout some of you "trainers" ever get. So, you're welcome. :rasp:

thanks... but I am not a trainer... so please don't lump in in with their bunch... they really don't help my cause any either...
 
Going to toss in a 3rd there. I see a lot of African Americans only doing bench at my gym. Occasionally I'll see one squat, but I have yet to see one deadlift. It is always bench....along with 95% of the other male members.




Typically due to genetics, the majority of African Americans have small quads/calves.

SO true. One of the guys at my gym is black. This dudes upper bod just looks HUGE but he doesnt really concentrate much on benching and stuff. Hes a deadlift and squat finatic. My asian calves are bigger than his although his are cut up more. My quads have also grown to the size that they are up to his level. Not to sterotype or anything, but its just sooo damn true. :rofl:

No joke though, 500 on DL is pretty hardcore. but he cant get his quads to grow for some reason. I have a hard time as an asian growing my upper bod. My chest isnt even that huge and ive got the craziest stretchmarks youve ever seen. Imagine I tried to get HUGEEEEE!? asian people dont get big, its a sterotype, but its also kinda true. My genetics suck balls.
 
asian must have better lower genetics. my upper body genetics absolutely suck. My back is OK, but everything else sucks.


My quads are 31". Occasionally I'll squat twice a week, but I'll usually squat once heavy a week, and sometimes skip a week here or there. My calves are 17". Same deal. Just train them once a week heavy.

At the risk of looking like a guy who only trains upper body, that's mainly what I do. It is still impossible to bring my upper in comparison to my lower.

I could skip legs for 1 year and have them back in shape in 1 month. No kidding.
 
air lats...:icon_lol: next guy I see with them I'm gonna ask him what he did to get them. I also hate the juicers that look at you like you got it all wrong when your using less weight and trying to develop a mind/muscle connection. Sorry if I don't want a bulged disc from Barbell curls biatch!
 
Actually after awhile those guys who never train back, but always train chest get this f.ucked up looking arch in their bodies. It is like their bodies are lunging forward and their shoulders are too due to no back development.

Yes sir!I was reding an article talking about proportions and the importance of working everything.They were giving examples like a big upper body with no legs is just rediculous and many others.One said a built guy with no back will always look like he's slouching.Theirs a big(black)guy who used to go to my gym.He has a big ass chest and bi's.They're way ajhead of everything else and it just looks weird.I think guys like this give bb'rs bad names when someone see's it and says muscle men are nasty.I see big guys all the time that just aren't physically appealing.

I always tell myself i'll never be the biggest guy,but I will be the one of the best looking.Not trying to sound coceited or full of myself cause i'm not.So many guys are disproportioned and sloppy or soft looking.I weigh damn bear 180 with almost 15" arms,but I look good.Like a mini pro bb'r. :lol: I choose aesthetics over size.I need much more size though!
 
depending on how long they have been training like that, it becomes more and more obvious because you can start to see the front deltoid greatly over developed and no rear delt development.
 
The shoulders are usually exactly what makes these guys look like crap too!When a good bb'r hits a crab pose,you notice how his traps flow into his shoulders,and shoulders into arms.Almost every big guy that doesn't make me want to look like him has no shoulders.I think thats why alot always wear short sleaved shirts,cause it helps hide the shoulders.

I'm not that big.I gave stats earlier.I didn't mention i'm 5'8" but thats in my profile to the left or whatever it's called.Anyways,thats honestly how my delts are.They have always had some shape to them.I noticed this in a freshman basketball pic.Then they started to grow before I even started to train them.Just with flat bench,curls,and flyes cause thats all i did at first.So i'm gifted with my shoulders,appears paco is too.Mine look too big when they're pumped.Especially when I stand with the db's getting ready to do side raises.They just pop out like crazy.Looks like I have shoulder pads with a short sleeved shirt on.
 
Everyone has in their genetics somewhere that body part or 2 that just happen to be naturally bigger. I used to know this one guy never ever worked out but he always had big arms just from playing sports and stuff. He looked like he worked out anyway. For me I have always had a big chest and decent forearms, thats from swinging hammers and digging holes since i was 8 years old I think tho'. I have a problem getting my quads to grow tho', never been strong at squats either thats just my weak point genetically and physically. I at least work hard to compensate for it tho' I don't want to walk around looking like a chicken.

Heaven forbid, starting with just the bar and getting form correct.(in the beginning)


I go ATG and quite honestly, when form and tempo are correct. Very little weight is needed.

I hate guys who think the amount of weight is the only thing important in bodybuilding...(I am not powerlifting)

Yea I hear u. For me I know when I do certain training my body will bloe up quicker than my strength does. I'm going with 5x5 right now to see if I can gain some strength too. I am getting stronger however my endurance is going to sh*t. I think it was good to switch it up tho' try something different and the one thing I do like is, how much focus is put on squats since that has always been my weak area. And then I'm hoping when I go back to training one body part a week I can keep a lot of the strength.
 
When people don't put away there weights, ticks me off. its usually the guy i train with aswell.

Started doing some pullups the other day. Pretty crap at them at the moment..

But anyway while i was resting some middle aged retard comes along and jumps in, does 10 half arsed pull ups, stops looks at me then walks off..

Also the Italian guy who flexs in the mirror and pokes his biceps after every bicep curl set he does.

I totally agree with you on this!!! And they also have all the great looking chicks hanging around them!!! I go in there work my a** off and will get no where close to where they are at!!

It has to be the guys who load up on weights on the squat rack and don't get their butt to the floor when doing them. If I had their range of motion I could do six plates, too.

Also, air lat guy. I call it ILS, Imaginary Lat Syndrome. He's usually fat and has guns that flap in the wind.

Of course, these have been mentioned.

We have one squat rack at our gym and someone is always doing curls on them.

I feel you brutha. Ive worked my butt off to this point. Ive gotten MUCH bigger. Going from 175-225. It wasnt all pure mass though, It was just my attempt to bulk up. If I were to cut now Id be at 195 at like under 10% body fat. Greaaat improvement for me to be honest with you under a year of work, but for close to a year of bulking, I see people get up to where Im at in a matter of a month or two months and it gets me SOOOOOOOO mad.

Yes sir.Imaginary lat syndrome is another.I can't stand it.People don't realise that this is how a big guy stands and walks relaxed.He doesn't force them to do this.Then they don't realise that big guys can spot it from a mile away.

Don't want to seem like one of these jerk-offs but i do it messing around with my girl going "damn I'm getting so huge I can't even put my arms down". i would never dream of doing that Sh1t in public tho'. How much of a douche can u be?
 
I have always wanted to be like look if you want to be big just put your arms out to the side.No one can tell the difference they'll just think you blew up all the sudden.See,watch(arms pressed to side)looks small(arms in air)now im hyoooge!
 
I dont know if anyone mentioned this yet. But how about the guys who start undressing as they go into their workouts. I don't mean completely naked... But they start off with like a beater+tank+something else, then they start taking everything off. Sometimes they leave all their **** around too, ****in ghetto. Oh, and those dudes that hog like 5 machines at once piss me off so much.
 
I seen this today and was reminded about it.The guys that come in and stretch like crazy.Nasty a$$ stretches too.Like putting their feet up on something high as they're wearing short shorts,it's just nasty.Then they just stand there like,Hey everyone!Look how high my foot is!I'm realy old but I can still do this.Then after putting their feet on preacher pads and the pegs of power racks,they work out their arms. :think:

Contrary to popular belief, some of those fat guys might actually have FAT where the lats should be pushing their arms out, hence the "imaginary lat syndrome" that you speak of.

Heaven forbid they go to the gym to work it off and do something about it, instead of eating junk food and sitting in front of the TV :rolleyes:

You can tell if it's forced by them or natural.
 
I love doing AIR LATS especially when I am on cycle and really get into starring down the dweebs that will always be TINY SOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo SAD
 
How about the really big girl who uses the treadmill for 10 minutes tops and then you see her on her way out eating a snickers.

or the guy in the sauna who keeps telling you how long hes been in for and how hard it is to be in that long. then you never see him in there again.
 
There's a guy at my gym that fits in the "all the above" category. Every single workout he does a circuit, taking up about 7 machines, doesnt put the weights away when he is done and he has NEVER gone up in weight since ive watched him going on a year. I mean the same f*cking circuit of 225lbs on the bench, 4 plates on the leg machine, etc, etc, etc. What a waste of time and energy.

Oh and theres a wackjob at my gym who when he does dumbbell curls he kisses his biceps after each rep. Curl left, *smooch*, curl right, *smooch*. The same guy also goes on the treadmill with his ipod and sings at the top of his lungs to whatever hip hop trash he is currently listening too.

And no my gym is not in a mental ward although it probably should be :).
 
What about the guy who you always see at the gym, and he is the same size as he was last year ? I see that too.

I used to be like that before when I was training/eating wrong, lol.


haha i feel like you guys are talking about me :) in my defense i think i was completely drunk off my butt every single day last year and recently skipped about 3 months at the gym. fixing that now, sorry!! :(
 
i still make a mess and leave my weights all over the floor.


Someday I hope that this stops happening. Who knows for sure though.
