What it that globe next to my "notifications?"

The small green globe that is just to the left of my "notifications" drop down menu has a red #2 over it. However, when I click on it, it begins to drop a menu down, but just sits there and runs, and never completes. I have tried following it in Safari and Chrome, but get the same results. What am I missing?

Nothing....not working as of yet. It will be a notification menu like Facebook....tells you when people respond to a thread, reputation, etc...

BTW, took me a minute to get the in's and out's of the new layout, but I am liking it.
 
Go to your profile, click on the notification tab (next to About me, etc...)...a miniature version will be in that popup at the top evetnually.

If the techie ever stops drinking and works on it, it will.
 
Should be working now...still working on truncating longer urls....
 
And if you have any feature requests for it, let us know..can't promise we can include them but will see what we can do.
 
Too be honest...

I do not use it. In fact the only time I click it is when I want the numbers to go away (which is every time I log in). I find them pretty distracting. I prefer to look at my subscribed threads to see if anyone has responded to any convo's I am involved in.
 
Different strokes.....I use it all the time. Much easier than subscriptions for me....I hate the vbulletin subscription system.
 
I'm sure there a tons others who like it same as you. It just seems like every time I get home from work and look I have a big red 56 there. No way I'm gonna look at them all,
screen it etc. Maybe if it just showed 1 notice per thread instead of a notice for every comment I would go to it more.
 
Yeah, I get a lot of repeats...but once I go to thread it just clears them.

But I can see your point...if you have 10 responses only have it tell you the latest one? Something like that...

Updated...New posts will reflect this. (multiple replies to one thread will only be counted once and on one line).


New reputation notification was added as well....


And for Dadams....go into Settings, General Settings, scroll to bottom....turn it off :D
