What ever happened to Cro Cop?

The dude kicks like a hammer....haven't seen or heard anything about dude since the lucky kick he received in UFC...
 
you must not be watching much at all. he faught in DREAM did good except got kicked in the nuts real bad. came to UFC won by an eye poke followed be a TKO victory, then sorta turned on UFC but not really because he then signed with them as said before. hes been fighting.
 
I'm surprised nobody mentioned it, but Mirko just fought in UFC 99. He TKOd Mustapha al Turk.
 
ummm ^ ^ ^ ^ look up there i said it. he poked al turks eye ref didnt see it so he got a TKO finish. he looked ok in the fight. had a good ralley before that. then a a little later poked him bad. turk ran and cro cop chased and got a TKO. it was kinda lame.
 
Umm...my bad, I misread your post. I was thrown off by the part where you said he "sorta turned on UFC." I thought you were referring to when he left the UFC and fought for Dream and K-1.
 
ya i was very sloppy because he annoys me. he isnt much with out steroids and old age as well. he was sweet back in the day and SO much fun to watch. little things has ticked him me off about him now. he fights guys who are easy now after his 2 losses in UFC. hes still good hes just not a fav anymore.
 
Yeah, I know what you mean. I was Pride nut-hugger for years and followed Cro Cop for a long time.

I think the days of his legendary high left kicks are in the past :(

I'm off to watch Cro Cop To The Top now...just for a little nostalgia, lol.

This is a pretty damn good vid for the guys that have been into MMA for a while...hell, it'll help the noobs understand why CC is such a living legend too ;)
 
He won it back in 2006.He beat Minowa, Yoshida, Wandy, and then Josh Barnett. That video that posted above goes through his K-1 career and up to that "Final Conflict" in which he wins the open weight grand prix.

I miss the Pride Grand Prix and Bushido formats.
 
If you watch one CC vs Barnett fights you'll see that he eye poked Barnett too. He of course takes the W like nothing ever happened just like in the Al Turk fight. The man is definitely a legend but he loves those open hand strikes hahaha
 
yeah not to cool. i feel like hes a bad ass on the outside and a softy on the inside. hes a legend and no one could take that away from him but theres just a few things that flat out bother me. he turned down fights after he claimed he was 100%, i know he wanted to rebuild his career to make a shot at the title but not to many people really turn down fights. i hope we see him suceed in UFC tho with out any cheap BS because he is fun to watch and i hate how old legends start to suck. he did take terrible strikes to the groin tho. that sucked real bad.
