What do you listen to while you workout?

I'd suggest looking into some of the theme songs from WWE (Formerly known as the WWF, for those of you who hibernate) and from the UFC. A lot of the music is pretty sick. I just downloaded a bunch of themes and will be adding them to my iPod later on this evening.

Elton John's greatest hits pumps me up!!!!!!!

"Hold me closer tiny dancer..."

That sh!ts harrrrd

Disregard any fact of you either liking, or hating, any of these wrestlers. These just happen to be songs that I've downloaded and put onto my iPod. They're all hard and seem to give off that 'pumped up' feeling.

Undertaker's Theme --- Limp Bizkit - 'Rollin' (Dead Man Mix)'

Raven's Theme --- Stereomud - 'End of Everything'

Triple H's Theme --- Drowning Pool - 'The Game'

John Cena's Theme --- Unknown - 'My Time is Now'

Mr. McMahon's Theme --- Dope - 'No Chance in Hell'

Rob Van Dam's Theme --- Breaking Point - 'One of A Kind'

Raw Theme --- The Union Underground - 'Across the Nation'

Shawn Michaels' Theme --- Unknown - 'Sexy Boy'

Batista's Theme --- Saliva - 'Unleashed'

Chris Benoit's Theme --- Our Lady Peace - 'Whatever'

Also, try out 'Live for This' by Hatebreed. It's one of the theme songs from UFC.

The Dillenger Escape Plan
Killswitch Engage
Between the Buried and Me
Strapping Young Lad
Collapsar
Cynic
Dalek
Tomahawk
Sepultura-ROOTS

Sizzla

At least that's whats on my player now. Who knows in a month.

White Zombie -Astro Creep 2000
Pantera - Far Beyond Driven, Great Southern Trendkill

Sometimes I will listen to RHCP, but I have pretty faithfully stuck with White Zombie and Pantera for training music since I was 17.

'Scream Aim Fire'
'Say Goodnight'
'Hearts Burst Into Fire'
'Take It Out On Me'
'Deliver Us From Evil'

All above songs are by Bullet For My Valentine. They're from their new album 'Scream Aim Fire.' Great album!

Bringing my own music is essential as the gym I currently attend plays either rap/hip hop or classic rock (not so bad).

Either way, a list of whats currently on my player in no order:

Origin
Necrophagist

About damn time someone mentions Behemoth! Cannibal Corpse is also insane for lifting. Also you guys should check out The Haunted. They're an awesome metal band. Oh, and Shadows Fall!

Damn, took 3 pages to list Shadows Fall!?
Killswitch
Trivium
Atreyu
All that Remains
A Dozen Furies
LAMB OF GOD!!
Devil Driver
Sevendust - old stuff
Staind - from the first cd that you can't get in stores, forgot the name
Unearth
Metallica - specifically "Fuel"
...to name a few

I don't care much for Shadows Fall since Phil Labonte is no longer their lead vocalist. Personally, I think his other band, All That Remains, blows Shadows Fall out of the water. I love ATR. I listen to some Shadows Fall, but mostly the older stuff from when Phil was involved.

Here are some recent discs I've been playing. I tend to change a lot during a session.

Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Papa Roach - Paramour Sessions
King's X - Gretchen Goes to Nebraska
Galactic Cowboys - Space in Your Face
Iced Earth - Glorious Burden
Sonia Dada - Day at the Beach
Barren Cross - Atomic Arena
Sixx A.M. - Heroin Diaries
Rez - DMZ
Tom Waits - Bone Machine
Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle-Earth
Steve Taylor - I Predict a Clone
Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabyes
Newsboys - Not Ashamed
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Crimson Glory - Astronomica
Dream Theater - Awake
Petra - This Means War
Cult - Greatest Hits
Metallica - Red, Blue and Green albums....

Oh, you like Pendulum too? ;)

Gimme some drum & bass or breaks. High BPM. Crazy basslines. Lots of bangin' drums. I'm good to go.

The Glass Prison by Dream Theater is a pretty bad ass way to start your workout.... check out this video of Lee Priest featuring the opening of Glass Prison as the music

I'm on the "Hatebreed" bandwagon when I workout. It just gives me the sickest drive to push more intensely.

I'd recommend
"Give Wings To My Triumph"
"Mind Over All"
"Defeatist"
"Before Dishonor" (Quoted in my sig in fact...)
"Smash Your Enemies"

The name escapes me at the moment, but one of my favorites starts off...
"If theres one thing in this world...that I must do...IT WILL BE, PROVE YOU WRONG"

awesome motivational stuff.

MuscleGuyinNY mentioned Evergreen Terrace's cover of "Maniac" which I find is great for speed rope. Some good suggestions here, Between the Buried and Me was mentioned and most of that is good for lifting.

I do believe a topic like this would belong in the Training Forum, seeing as how it has to with what music we listen to and what music motivates us while training. I figured I'd make a thread for all of us to share our playlists with one another, so those of us with iPods, or whatever you use, can have some variety to listen to while we're in the gym.

All I know is, I need a new iPod. I can't stand listening to the same sh!t on XM Radio, which they play in my gym. Nelly Furtado and other poppy sh!t just doesn't cut it for me, lol.

call me crazy but.. classical. working out doesn't have to be violent. I tend to go from house, techno, rock, to yes.. classical. I find it to make me more methodical in my lifting and paying attention to my form. Noticed noone else mentioned it, so I thought I would be the ginniepig. once again.. ;) classical...

Oh yeah I forgot about Avenged Sevenfold.

Have any of you ever heard the song Chapter Four?

There's a part where the dude is like, "I've come here to kill you - won't leave until you dieeeeeee"

Bad ayuss.

I have probably 75% rap in my mp3 player but have been mostly listening to classic rock (or whatever).

Currently digging Def Leppard - esp. Hysteria (whole album rocks) - and Van Halen.

Of course - AC/DC.

Old Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Metallica and similar. Every now and then Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, STP. It's older stuff, but I'm an older guy.

Mostly hard stuff (metalcore/hardcore/screamo) or D&B

As I Lay Dying
A Thorn For Every Heart
Grace Gale
Dance Gavin Dance

Embrace the End
All That Remains
Anterrabae
Drop Dead, Gorgeous
Azriel
Glassjaw
Matchbook Romance (their older stuff)

I killed the prom queen: columbian necktie, sharks in your mouth, bet it all on black

it dies today: naenia, a threnody for modern romance, freak gasoline fight accident

as i lay dying: nothing left, forever, through struggle, elegy, 94 hours,

atreyu: ex's and oh's

avenged sevenfold:unholy sonfessions, trashed and scattered, eternal rest

children of bodom: in your face

the devil wears prada: dogs can grow beards all over

haste the day: when everything falls

pantera: 5 minutes alone, respect

throwdown: singled out

shadows fall: the light that blinds

******: six (I forgot who it's by)

Make that a new ipod play list, I guarantee it keeps you motivated if you like any music like this. Let me know what you guys think
