I usually drink some form of bcaa's: Compete, Endurance, Chain'd Reaction and Off the Chain. Sometimes I add a carb to it: Glyco-Infusion or Carbosport
Pre:
8g Citrulline
4g Beta Alanine
6g Micro Creatine Mono
6g Hydromax
2g Agmatine
Intra:
10g BCAAs
10g EAAs
40g HBCD
2tbsp Glycerine
Electrolyte blend
Sometimes 2-3mg of Cialis pre!
Sometimes 50-80mcg IGF1LR3 pre!
LoL. Correct. 2-3mg is amazing for general bloodflow. Im not really excited by the "pump" anymore.......increasing bloodflow/pump is strategic more than self-gratifying. The goal is to enrich the blood with all those nutrients I listed and then allow the "pump" ingredients to increase bloodflow to help drive those nutrients into the working muscles.Great tips and great blend however I'm assuming the Cialis is for a pump factor and not errectial issues? Not trying to be an ass, I just find it interesting.
Having no idea what your stats are or what your training really looks like.....Funny this should come up, been trying to figure it out.
I typically train @ 0430 fasted for 1.5-2 hr, typically moderate to high volume, rotate a bit. I'm always watching my calories as I hold weight really easily. I do 10 gram of bcaa when I workout, but when I workout fasted (probably 80% of the time) I feel a lot more gassed about midway through and it's a struggle to push through.
I'd prefer to workout an hour or so after eating, but my schedule/life makes it really hard to do that most of the time. I've started doing a small piece of chocolate pre and adding a scoop of gatorade powder to my bcaa and that has seemed to help a lot.
Question is, is there a better option (I'd imagine there is) and how much of that option would you recommend starting with, keeping in mind I don't want to go crazy with my pre workout calorie count?
6'2" 230 lbs, basically do PPL 4 to 5 day a week (2 on 1 off). I change the accessory volume and movements quite a bit, but start each session with 5X5 of bench, squat, and deadlift, then go from there. Usually do at least 2-3 compound movements.Having no idea what your stats are or what your training really looks like.....
Preworkout Shake:
40g Whey
1-1.5 tbsp Coconut Oil
You can skip the 10g BCAAs at that point.

There are a lot of factors to just say what is "best" that is too much of a blanket statement. You need to take into account pre-workout nutrition before taking anything intra-workout. For most gym trainees they can get away with just water intra-workout if they fuel for their workout properly.
There are a couple situations where utilizing a BCAA Beverage or carbs may be necessary:
1) If you are someone who must train upon waking (Fasted) and cannot perform optimally on a full stomach. Therefore something like HBCD/Karbolyn + BCAA's would be an ideal choice. BCAA's are instantly digested and therefore will kick you out of the overnight catabolic state. The Carbs will help power through a session as they are the main source of glycogen in our body for fuel.
2) You may also benefit from intra-workout carbohydrate consumption if your training sessions are very high in volume, intensity, and length. Crossfit athletes, or those spending 90-120 minutes in a gym. Now this could be different for someone who may train DC style and very intense for 60 minutes. If they have excessive calories to play around one (pending their goal cutting or bulking) then some extra carbs may not hurt for added fuel of what is lost during training. Sometimes when cutting not everyone has that leeway.
What I do:
Training upon waking: Ergonine + 10-14g BCAA + 30-50g of carbs (HBCD)
products I would use in these scenarios:
BCAA's:
Xtend Perform / Xtend
Core ABC
Omega Strive
Granite Aminos
AEN Intrabolic
Carbs: (this will be personal depending, some people don't stomach malto/dextrose too well)
Glycofuse (HBCD)
Bulk HBCD
Karbolyn
MTS Carb-10
Waxy Maize
I especially have found that the suggestion you made for hbcd and aminos during fasted workout to be absolutely true through alot of trial and errorRead my first post
Your not aloneI especially have found that the suggestion you made for hbcd and aminos during fasted workout to be absolutely true through alot of trial and error
Here's my advice.. listen to The Solution ... my man knows his stuff trust me
NO doubt.. !!! I use to be overweight so I just have an aversion to carbs, and I am currently on a cut/recomp. But while logging the quake Bob suggested that I add some carbs in my pre workout meal, as well as adding carbs into my Bcaa's during my workout . He said to trust him and give it a fair chance to see how it works... Well i can say I am never going to not train this way. I have had more energy, my workouts have been much better, I have even hit a new PR on incline bench, so go figure on a cut and still getting stronger.. yeah it works and he knows his stuff..lol and i have still dropped 2 1/2 more pounds since I started adding the carbs back in...Your not alone
I do Ang's peri-workout protocol since he is logging a bottle of quake right now. The guy will tell you it has changed how his performance for the better.

I gotta check his log. Since I train at night I'm already five meals in for the day, basically wait till my food is digested before I train and then do my intra. Then after session it's back to another meal, no shakes. On weekend training days sometimes I do fasted and without that intra I would be in horrible shapeYour not alone

Here you go.. sounds like we have a very similar training schedule.I gotta check his log. Glad to hear this! I always Eat a cup of oatmeal with local honey about 1.5 hrs before. done this for years.NO doubt.. !!! Not necessarily. BCAA are free form aminos, but not all free form aminos are BCAAfree form amino acids are BCAA's.
Thank you for all the info!!! I think I'll be picking up some HBCD in bulk and giving it a try!Just showing you the light
Does SNS sell this:Not necessarily. BCAA are free form aminos, but not all free form aminos are BCAA
No we do not. But the logic they are using, while technically correct, is also false as ingested free form aminos =/ protein anywayDoes SNS sell this:
Ready-to-absorb, free-form amino acids: Free form amino acids are not linked in peptide or protein structures and thus do not need to be digested
They have a few brands on amazon touting like they are superior lolNo we do not. But the logic they are using, while technically correct, is also false as ingested free form aminos =/ protein anyway
1 scoop of glycofuse or HBCD (25g)The ones I want to try are john meadows products: True Nutrition Peri MD and Granite Supplements Recovery Factor X
Lol I know man. I wanna support these guys dante Scott and John, I use thier training methods religiously, but truthfully i do exactly that already. The price on those things are through the roof. Intra md was great, but I guess who don't know if it was even real...1 scoop of glycofuse or HBCD (25g)

Can't beat that 8$ a bottle deal. Covers all your BCAA's, then just add bulk HBCD and some citrulline and you have your own mixAll 3 are genuinely great guys.
Do yourself a favor......let YOU be the one who dictates the outcome of your situation. YOU decide the ingredients, amounts, dosages that YOU want to ingest. A few hours spent researching the web and you should have a fairly decent grasp on a handful of useful ingredients......which would put u lightyears ahead of some of these internet-sheep (no direct disrespect) who spend hundreds on fancy labeled under dosed garbage.
I personally have been getting most of my raw ingredients from Dante. Other stuff I wait until supp sites have huge sales or clearances and pick up my novelty items as long as its cheaper that TN.com. Just grabbed a bunch of Xtend Go from nutra when they had their sale. Couldnt beat the price for basic/trusted BCAAs and Im just gonna mix them with scoops of BCAAs from other brands I grabbed on sale anyway.
So I'm still new enough here, who is Dante?Just buy all the bulks from Dante
True Nutrition. Then again Primaforce has a lot of stuff you need in bulk (agmatine, creatine, ctirulline, beta-alanine, Peak02, LCLT etc).. for all a very affordable priceSo I'm still new enough here, who is Dante?
I pretty much do already. Ive been using his karboload, which is karbolyn, 50g carbs 0 sugars. I think it's 50g serving x 47 servings for 24 bucks. Can't beat that. I don't have stomach issues using it. Also buclk eaas 1000gs for 27, hydro max powder, plus more.Just buy all the bulks from Dante
Dante trudel, creator of DC training, or Doggcrap training, owner of true nutrition. Known for taking guys with average genetics and making them into great bodybuildersSo I'm still new enough here, who is Dante?
I get it bro, believe me. But when I pay 20 bucks for a program like fortitude which completely elevated my training, I want to support the guy, that's it. Follow his IG or his forum or podcast, he drops jewels for nothing. But yea I get it. And in regards to your post a while back about Cialis preworkout, it's very good, helps blood pressure for guys too, but personally I enjoy it once in a while when it time to blow my girls back out for hours over the course of a long weekend .All 3 are genuinely great guys.

Absolutely brother!!Would Endure be good for weight training?
ThanksAbsolutely brother!!
Here here! Here's my advice.. listen to The Solution ... my man knows his stuff trust me
I made my own one time using Sweet Potato powder - I also bought the pre-made one from I think MassiveG(?) that used Oat Starch (that stuff tasted GOOD! ). That was back in the day before I realized just eating was good enough - but I love TN for sure.I pretty much do already. Ive been using his karboload, which is karbolyn, 50g carbs 0 sugars. Dr. Scott Stevens is a pretty smart cookie - you found value in Fortitude, huh? Sometimes $20 is well spent if it's for training. I know in the age of the internet it's en vogue to poo-poo paying for training (I do it sometimes myself - but it depends on who's selling what), but if you put a value on your research time, trying to piece together programming from freebie web posts/podcasts etc... $20 is a bargain if your time is worth $100/hour. I'm on the cusp of giving Dr. Israetel some money, just to see if it's better than the re-creation I made from his blog/podcast infoBut when I pay 20 bucks for a program like fortitude...
Honestly I don't think I could have pieced a plan together like that. It's 4 days a week training, hits every body part three to four times a week, and is autoregulating. Plus it's right up your alley. He qoutes and hyper links a sh!t ton of studies in his references at the end. All clinical studies. It's very well written.Dr. Scott Stevens is a pretty smart cookie - you found value in Fortitude, huh? Sometimes $20 is well spent if it's for training. I listen to him regularly on the Advices Radio Podcast - 'Muscle Minds'. He and Jordan Peters are on there. Im so (self)brainwashed on the benefits of 5-7 day protocols that a switch to a 4-day would require a major leap of faith. Can you relate to this at all? It might give me the confidence to take the plunge lolHonestly I don't think I could have pieced a plan together like that. The problem is. People think more is better, that is not always the case. Have you ever heard of DC Training? If you actually train 100% balls to the wall, and jack your intensity up you can't train 5-7 days or you will feel like death. kbayne has some good information about Dante and DC training and when you put it into perspective and focus on beating the progress book it will beat the living hell out of you.Im so (self)brainwashed on the benefits of 5-7 day protocols that a switch to a 4-day would require a major leap of faith.
