I did 3" exhaust from the turbo back with high flow cat, Helix intake, JDM MR BV, Zeal Function V6 coilovers, Walboro fuel pump and Dynoflash Ecutek.
Right now I have snow tires on her with the weather we have been having in the Northeast. Car rocks in the snow too!

Over here there are still more mustangs than there are f-bodies but then the ricers are def on top now i think out here. I have respect for any fast car that was done with taste. i dont have any gay graphics on my car. i do plan to do some nice paintwork to it along with serious motor work including a turbo kit that will be fabricated by me and all the suspension i can buy for it. i allready have a nice lightwieght k-member waiting to go in(damn winter). but you know its exspensive and well the budget thing always gets in the way

Ill probly trade it before i frigin put one in. Im wanting a Mustan Cobra as i love the sound and the look. I just am worried about durability as im having a big problem with that with my Eclipse.
So for those of you with a Cobra hows she maintain?
jblaze22 said:I've never had any problems at all actually knock on wood, been very reliable, as you get into modding though it gets a little more tricky because the block isn't as strong as everyone claims it to be, i did an entire longblock swap on mine because at 600rwhp i was on the verge of the engine seizing up on me.
All in all though, highly recommended, i went from a BMW M3 to this and i don't regret it one bit, i've had two and the package of performance, looks, sound etc. are the best at thier price point i think. I get twice as many compliments on my Cobra as i did with my Bimmer which wasn't exactly stock either, very flashy but not the in your face type way the cobra is.
Sorry for the ramble, long story short i wouldn't hesitate to recommend one
Bean said:TrueThe automatic supras are doing quite well for 1/4 mile though. Just as well as any other domestic vehicle anyway.
I've seen the stock I6 handle over 1900hp. Upgraded internals but the block itself handled it fine. The hidden motor being the non-turbo version; like the one in my SC300. Pistons arent quite as strong (but enough for 900hp still) but the rods and crank are identical.
They are quite expensive for an older car, but they are pretty reliable at all power levels, have a very "easy-to-get-to" community, and very rare. Therefore, they are worth whatever the buyer will pay for it.
Marko had his 1520whp Supra for sale a couple months ago. Made that power on a Mustang dyno through a custom TH400. when the car was only making 1200whp or so, he ran a 8.65 @ 165 with stock suspension, full interior, etc including A/C, stereo, etc. Looked like a bone stock car other than the drag-lites and slicks on it.
Question though. What made you go with a blower instead of a turbo? They make turbokits for those Cobras now and they have a much more usable powerband

jblaze22 said:The twin turbo kits still don't have all the kinks worked out, the Kenne Bell blower i have is tried and true, it was a simple bolt on, and i can run 30lbs of boost + nitrous.
As for the powerband, i have to disagree there, turbos are top end monsters but the torque from a twin screw charger is a beautiful thing. The final reason was, it's pretty much pointless for me to try and pull anymore power out of the engine at this point, there is more than any i would ever need to be honest, any more is just for bragging rights (it basically is at that right now haha)
Oh and blower whine is sexy, scares the living **** out of people
Bean said:If you're having durability problems with your Eclipse; don't look at the Cobra. The interior is made out of hard plastic. Little tiny gauges, a badly placed shifter, horrible steering feel, and crappy seats.
How is a turbokit $5500 for your car? One can pick up like a top-of-the-line turbokit for my SC300 for $4500... or even cheaper if you want to build one.
I guess a possible reason is that its a V6.... probably one of the worst turner platforms possible (and being FWD doesnt help either)

Well I'm guessing you havent driven many turbocars thenTurbos ARE PROVEN in real life and on the dyno, to have FAR more midrange and topend than ANY supercharger... its all about sizing; and most supercharger people don't understand it. Its quite a bit more complicated than a supercharger because of all the options and different frames.
Blower whine is ok; but a screaming turbo that LITERALLY sounds like a jet taking off (using a ported shroud housing that enhances that effect too; some people call them 'whistler housings') just blows it away. I'll see if i can dig up a video.
