Welcome! See ya around the board.

Hey guys,
I am slowly easing back into lifting after some aggravating joint problems. Tendonitis in the Achilles has been the most annoying this year. Looks like an informative forum yall have here, I look forward to picking some of your brains in the near future.

Hi, I'm Mike and I just discovered this forum. So far I am really enjoying all the great info and laughs it has to offer.

I'm 32, 197 lbs and still cutting. I've changed my habits and body a lot in the last 2 years and am ready to finish this cut. I am going for 185, but of course the mirror will decide if I stop short of that or cut further.

My goals are to be strong, athletic and explosive and to do so naturally(I take glutamine and whey protein when I feel it would help, but that's it. I know "natural" can have many meanings.)

I am hoping that I will get some good information to help me iron out the details to finish his cut as it has slowed lately for me. I also would love to make some friends and have some people to discuss nutrition and excessive with as my family and friends kinda don't wanna hear about it anymore.

-Mike

Hello everyone,

Names Nate, I'm 25, 5'9" 160lbs not sure bf probably 15-20%, been on a bulk for a few years never cut before since I have a high metabolism. I've been lifting for about 4 years but have been doing the same routine of 8-12 reps for the majority of the time basically sitting at a plateau. Just recently tried lifting much heavier and hitting 3-6 reps max and I can say wow did that blast me through the plateau. I swear everyone says to hit 8-12 reps is key but now I beg to differ. I watched an Arnold Schwarzenegger video is how I decided to think more about shocking the muscle each time. Now I'm switching up workouts slightly each time maintaining basic core multi joint exercises. I'm definitely feeling the pain the next day and I rest longer than I ever have. Used to be able to hit same muscles 2-3 times a week now I'm good with once lol. I recently came across an article that made me join this forum but I can't pot it due to some word restrictions. Can someone elaborate on these restrictions?

Glad to be here

Welcome gentlemen!
Fasted I would look into creatine in place of that Glutamine to help reach your goals
Inzane you just can't post links or pictures yet, may contain a URL

8-12 reps is great but not indefinitely, varying your programming (as you did) goes a long way

Driven2lift Thanks for the info, I'm at work on my cell right now I'll hop on the comp and check it out. I mean the post is super long, is it possible to have a post that is too long? It's an article/story written by Craig Davidson. I can't post a URL yet so copied the whole article. I took out prices and stuff so far but I'll look at it more.

Hello,
After a very long hiatus, its good to be back! I posted here fairly regularly years ago under the name "DrnkMnky". I have since forgotten my login information and created a new account.

Long story short, I was forced to give up my bodybuilding dedication years ago. I toured with a band for a few years, and needless to say during that time my training and diet fell to the wayside. I partied too much, became seriously addicted to opiates and cocaine, and also faced legal issues and jail time over that time. I took the "sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll" lifestyle too far. These circumstances took my drive and commitment from training and a healthy lifestyle for about 6 years.

Anyway, I'm back and healthier than ever. I've completely turned my life around this past 2 years, and I can honestly say bodybuilding has played a huge role in my accomplishments.

Is there anyway I can get my old login back?
