Wearing your belt for a small mid section

I guy told me at the gym the other day if you were your lifting belt all the time it helps keep your mid section tighter and also helps push the water out of your mid section just wondering if this it true or not.
 
Not even close to being true. At best, you'll learn to breathe better under pressure; at worst, you'll end up with a weak core.
