Thanks Chris, been great. They fly back to Houston tonight at 9pm. Then I have relatives from England spending next Monday-Wednesday with us... then hotel closes for season - unless one of you guys is coming to Toronto of course! ;)

Got in a decent workout yesterday. Strength and energy levels are just not there, but powered through this one... as this bout of a stomach bug is holding on tight. (more on that in next post)

Got bloods taken two days ago, results were available online this morning. Haven't talked to my doctor yet though.

Liver Enzymes.. normal range is 7-37… me 55
Hep B and C negative
Hep A – inclusive as 2 antibodies found in blood stream, which indicates infection - and further test necessary.

Was explained to me that Hep A is like chicken pox in that you get it, become immune to it and that is that, just can take upto 8 weeks to get over it. And there is nothing you can take to 'get over it'. The strange thing is the Incubation period is typically 2-6 weeks, which would mean that I got it before going to Mexico... As I was there from July 11-18 and it all started on the night of the 18th once home.

My symptoms are horrible fatigue, and just a constant upset stomach. This is not conducive to having good workouts, but I will keep doing what I can. If anything perhaps getting back to even my workout routine will get me in a better mindset.

Thanks Clayton. Yes the good thing is it will 'cure itself'... just will take time. And upped my intake of water. Would you think it would be beneficial to toss some TUDCA in my system on a daily basis? MrKleen73 like to know your thoughts on that too

Yes, even only 250-500/day for a while will be beneficial. It increases the integrity of the cell walls in the liver and I believe also has positive benefits to the lipid profile.

Also consider 600mg of ALA pre-bed or a high-carb meal. It is a powerful antioxidant and GDA. Night will help you sleep a tad better by clearing blood sugar and before a big carb meal it will give better partitioning. Cheap and you can buy it anywhere. Run for 2-3 months and take a little break.

Both of these have the potential to increase heartburn, so keep your diet cleaner if that becomes an issue (which you do anyway, right??).
 
Hepatitis A is also known as food hepatitis. I had it from eating contaminated crawfish while in Houston in the 80's. 90 days and you are back to normal. Agree that you easily become exhausted and the stomach pain hurts. Liver enzymes go high. Heal up quickly.

Ok, I like to think this was my first 'back at it' workout. Not following any plan, just freestyling for now. Will do more shoulders next round, was focused on getting a good chest session in. Strength isn't what it was, but that will bounce back when my energy and nutrition do. As it seems most of what I eat goes right through me. Still waiting on the labs for the parasite, but started my antibiotic yesterday - regardless.

Doing some great work in here brother. Hopefully your blood work comes back and either it is only a parasite, or only Hep A. Just for simplicities sake. Either way, it is great you seem to be feeling better.

I have 3 pills left of my antibiotics, and pretty much feel fine. I have not recieved results yet of the parasite test, but considering things got better with antibiotics for just that would lead me to believe that was it. In any event feeling way better... almost 100%!

2) Entamoeba histolytica/dispar found

- Just need to follow up with my doctor to make sure I am good to go.
