I'm not simon, and by all means he can comment as he wishes here.. but there is something to be said for switching up the order of exercises, not only for change sake, but yes to focus on and hit the opening bodyparts/exercises harder for addtl growth this doesn't mean just doing hams first, then quads, then saving calves for the end (as most ppl do), but also would include blasting the calves first, then following with bodypart order you see fit.. I am huge proponent of switching these parts up, since I most always do legs all in one training session so the first leg session of the week, I may do standard quad/ham/calf format; then, second leg day of the week, maybe I do hams/quads/calves following week, maybe I do calves, hams, quads last....and the next session that week I go back to standard quad/ham/calf format this is just one way to do it - if you are "specializing", maybe you hit calves or quads (whatever you are focused on specializing) first for every leg session, for 4-6 weeks, then change up the order lots of ways to go, but yes I notice most guys employ quads first invariably in the leg training format try switching things up!
