Wasme's recomp journey....

sounds like how I golf, oh, and I'm usually hammered when I golf too!
I don't drink when I golf. I'm usually walking unless I know I'm going to play beyond 18. At one point I was consistently in the high 70s for a round. It's a great game whether you suck at it or not.

High 70s is sweet... nice. I always used to walk when golfing as well.

Dude your size probably breaks the ball in half when he hits it...
With all due respect to Steve and his gargantuan size, the correlation between club head speed and muscles is negligible at best. I think, moreover, the larger you get the harder it would be to generate significant CH speed AND maintain good mechanics throughout the course of the swing. Driving the ball 300+ only matters if it's straight.

pretty much this - me & my lefty swing never fail to slice that damn little ball
what fun is that? i'll stick with tennis thx, or smashing baseballs over the fence :D

Truth. I hit the ball better when I'm not trying to smoke it. 300+ taking a hard right or left is no good. I'll take 200 yard drive if it's dead center all day though.

I'd almost bet that your years of baseball and the action of your wrists are causing your slice. Turning your hands over isn't good practice with a golf club in your hands, whereas it's engrained from youth in baseball. I tried to play both golf and baseball during the same season. It takes everything you have to forget the mechanics of one swing and try to use the other swing from day to day. Only thing I'd say is similar is weight transfer, but even that differs between the two. Baseball players usually make shîtty golfers until they put the bat down and dedicate some time to golf. It's hard when you love both though, can get quite frustrating.

^^ this guy's saving grace, is he is so damn on point much of the time
good stuff, all very true
the advanced baseball players I know who do love golf and are decent at it, are typically the pitchers
(and we all know 99% of them cannot hit a baseball anyway)

I can attest to this a bit. Still have decent CH speed but tbh nothing compared to what it was when I was fat and out or shape.

Very true as well. Being a ball player myself I found this true. My dad wouldn't let me golf during baseball season as a result.

Golf swing is far more intriguing than the baseball swing imo. Golf will create character no matter your level.

do you mean "intricate"?
nothing more intriguing than the biomechanics of proper bat stroke, when you are facing 90+ MPH fastballs, or having to adjust to a 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock curveball or a slider that disappears in the dirt ;)

Ernie Els vs Ken Griffey Jr or Will the Thrill
Tiger vs Miggy or Pujols
John Daly vs Manny Ramirez.

I'd say both swings have their intricacies, but the difference in millimeters is much more finite in golf IMHO.
Out of all of the above named though, I must admit that there's nothing better than watching Junior swing a bat. Mechanical perfection.

Agree. Jr was perfect on the swing

I would give anything to take a nap everyday lol. Good stuff in here simon.

Quick question, I'm starting reactive pump on monday, I'm under the understanding that each section is two weeks for a total of 12 Weems correct?

Update coming here in a few minutes... great leg workout! Thanks Justin. Yes Reactive Pump do each week twice before moving to the next.

Where did you hear to do each week twice?! I thought it was just a six week program

Used to think this exact same thing until I started taking golf seriously. To me the golf swing is much more intriguing to break down than the baseball swing.

Oh my no better swing than Jr as far as baseball goes. Watching Ernie Els and Freddie Couples swing a golf club, to me is very similar to Griffey swinging a bat.

I wish tiger would stop being such a douche face and play like he used to. Nothing more fun than watching that guy play when he catches fire. Unfortunately I don't know if it will ever happen again.

He's done man. Too many injuries. Every little nick and ding he's got is killing his swing. Might be part mental too. Holding back not to reinjure.

How you been buddy, still never around so I'm assuming good and busy

Was a great workout. Focus was dead on and enabled me to push through to include calf work today. Calves are twice this week.

Having a few neighbors over this evening for a bbq. Have six pork tenderloins ready to grill - should be a nice relaxing evening.

Holy cow, those wife grip OHP's!

Wasme is a beast! Holy Mackeral that is another killer workout! Nice job brother!

Wow 245 on incline! Awesome job!

Simon you're an animal 245x3 on inclines? Dude that's some weight. Bet you're around 275 if you don't flat bench first...

155lbs on incline is hard as **** for me. I can flat bench so much more (as expected) but I mean even my seated overhead presses are about 155lbs. Idk why my incline game is so weak o.o

Thanks for the kind words!

Once I finish up this run of Meadows I will give it a shot - see where I am at.

This was also a slight incline, which makes a difference.

Rest day today... which I seem to need. Legs are still crazy sore... and chest is lit up pretty good this morning.

Backyard gathering / BBQ was a lot of fun last night. Lots of good food and adult beverages to be had. Below are the tenderloins a bbq'd ... delicious.

06/09/2014

Good day of rest and growing yesterday... Back on tap this evening - another rowathon by the looks of it. Feeling fresh and pretty much recovered, from last week's onslaught.

Update to follow...

6/9/2014 BACK and Calves

Rowathon Part 2... unfortunately I wasn't feeling it by the time I got home and out to the garage. Typically find coming the commute home added to whatever 'drama' is awaiting, and then everything weighing on you that needs to be done really can put a damper on things. The last couple of weeks I have been able to clear my mind - wasn't the case today. Well there is always tomorrow! Anyways, enough complaining..

One Arm Barbell Rows
45x10
55x10
65x10
75x10
85x10
95x10
105x8/7

Meadows Rows
75x15
80x15
85x15

- 15 per side was a helluva grind let me tell ya.
- both the above exercises with no rest just left, right, left, right.... (except for adding weight to bar)

Seated Low Rows
110x10
130x10
140x10

- deep stretch on these
- 45 seconds between sets

DB Pullovers
60x10
60x10
60x10

DB Shrugs

70x10
70x10

- 3 second pause at the top

205x15 + 10
205x15 + 10

Killer rowathon just like last week!!

Those rows are killer for sure. Meadows is brutal on back day... and any other day.

I couldn't pull 85x15 AFTER all that other pulling, that's for sure.

You know where to find me if you need help or to talk about your other drama. Just know it's temporary.

Your 1 arm BB rows and meadows rows are awesome! The weight you listed, does that include the bar or is that just the plates ?

Still a hell of a workout in spite of concentration problems! Beast mode ON!

Killler back workout brother! I swear man i need to start doing one arm rows or even both arms lol.
