Wades Log: improvement has its costs

Been pretty sick lately, so gym time has been rough, hence no updates.
Air Force PT test today.
1 min push ups: 75
1 min sit ups: 52
1.5 mile run: 13 min (head cold was killing me, plus it was humid as fuuuuuk... Whatever)
32"waist
170lbs

84.9 score... Lowest in 5 years... Stupid run

Quick update: my girls are doing great, but they are at a pretty inconsolable period, just fussy ALL the time. Don't get me wrong, they are the best thing in my life, but the lil boogers are killing my training for now... Eh, such is life. Octobers meet will 100% be chalked up to a "learning experience" with a few light lifts tossed in!

185 1x4 (hit the rack on my 5th attempt)
205 3x1 (yay!!)
215 0x0.... (Dammit.... Was off from the unrack, could have struggled through, but bailed on it)

405 1.5 x1 (I say 1.5 because I kinda hitched the 2nd one, but I made it up)

Wade you will be alright. In my experience most people are super supportive bc it takes courage to get on the platform. I totaled 935 my first meet and had a great time. Also, keep in mind if you are not used to a deadlift bar the pulls may be easier than you anticipate.

Plus you got the Bolt and Sean the AM squat tandem there!
 
I'm not too worried. I know my training is way off, so like I said, my hopes are just to learn a ton and watch some big lifts.
 
Quick squat sesh today.
Warmed up with overhead squats. Bunch of bar reps, then 3x5 @ 95lbs. Really gets the core muscles firing!
Squats:
135 3x8 (3-5 sec pause)
185 3x5 (3 sec pause)
225 2x5 (2sec pause)
255 5x1 (minimal pause)
Felt heavy a f?k!!!!

Front squats
Same reps/pauses minus the 255 sets

Box squats
225 3x3 wide stance

Ran outta time and energy... Late night at the old hacienda last night.

Wraps will be there in a day or two. Start training in them ASAP. Call or text me whenever I'd you have questions with them. Any idea on opening attempts?
 
I'm excited to lift in the wraps! Thinking openers will be SUPER conservative. Most likely going 270/180/365

3 chest to bar pull ups
6 thrusters
6 C2B pull-ups
Then 9....12....15, and so on till the clock stops.
If you can't get to the round of 12, gimme 50 good burpees!!!

Ok, so I haven't been in the gym for a week. I have some serious Poison Ivy and it is MISERABLE!!!!!! Go figure, it's on my legs and I just got my knee wraps from Sean1332. Going to see the Dr today to clear this mess up. Anywho.... Here is what I programmed for my base gym:

TRAVEL WOD
tabata time!
Tabata goblet squat (weight of your choice)
Then sprint 400 M
Rest 2 min
Tabata push ups (chest to deck)
Sprint 200M
Rest 2 min
Tabata flutter kicks (keep your head off the floor)
Sprint 100M

BANGBOX CLASSIC WOD
*ANGIE*
For time:
100 pull ups (as many strict as possible)
100 push ups
100 sit ups
100 squats.

Haha...I may not be man enough!! I got a Rx for prednisone today, should help in a day or two. Should give me just enough time to ramp up for a max out in OCT.?.?
 
Poison Ivy? That sh!t is almost therapeutic , ha ha...

As a child I used to pick the lil white flowers off the Poison Ivy plant n suck the sweet nectar from em.. And yes many times I came home with a rash... But my body got used to it... This is when I lived in Poland, Gdansk ..... A good childhood memory for me.... :)

Holy crap I was actually able to get to the gym today!!! Had a pretty crappy workout, but was able to get some benching and squatting in.
Sets/reps really not even worth mentioning, but hey, at least it was something for right now.
Hopefully be able to start getting some actual legit updates on here soon.

5 push-ups (chest/deck)
10 sit-ups
15 squats
100 M sprint

BANGBOX CLASSIC WOD
*CINDY*
20 min AMRAP
5 pull ups (strict if possible)
10 push ups (chest/deck)
15 squats

Got a decent workout in today. Did a lot of focus on my Deads as far as approach and setup for next weekend. Did 2x5 on all weights. 135/225/275/315/345/365.
365 still flew off the ground, so that's a good sign, and no grip issues since I kindof took my time. If I feel this good on meet day, 400+ should be no issue.... Fingers crossed!!!
Played around with my wrapped squating after that. First time using them, hurt like hell!!! I may need to widen the stance just a tad in order for them to help at all. I was a little tired after deads, so kept the weight at 225 and just did a bunch of reps to feel it out. Prob do the same thing tomorrow along with my bench/cleans day. Finished off with a buttload of pull-ups and dips. It was nice to get a good amount of work in today, I was worried I was gonna whither away to nothing!

2 days in a row...feels great!! Working at an AF base is pretty cool when there is no flying. Anyway.....

Warmup with med ball push-ups and barbell 21's

200 4x1.... Pretty happy with that for right now.

136 3x5 reverse grip

DB pullovers....actually kettle bell, but whatever...

Clean/jerk mini complex:
3 clean pulls - 1 full clean - 1 jerk

Nice to not feel like a lazy slob again... Now back to reality, the kids are crying again!

Went SUPER conservative since it's gonna be my 1st time out.

Hoping for a 315/215/435 final attempts... We shall see!
