doesn't acupuncture only work if you believe in it?

No, they can bring about immediate pain relief. I used to go in for sessions when I had severe sciatica. The "Qi" Accu's speak of isn't faith or anything like that. Qi pathways have been measured by western medicine and they have all been discovered to be a mapping of heavy neuron pathways.

i honestly don't know much about acupuncture.
maybe if i learned more it might not seem like such a strange medical practice.

I guess the use of heavy medications in western medicine make me want to seek a more 'holisitic' pathway, although medication is needed at times. It's nice to have a combination of both east and west. I like how west is black and white. And i like how the east treats the whole body system, not just the particular organ or sickness.

I just voted.

Last night, on my drive home, my friend, one of my best friends actually, texts me, "Obama '08 and Yes on 8" without getting into a huff of details because in a couple of hours it won't really matter, but I didn't vote Obama, definitely not my position.

I first started making cracks back at my friend, texting Adolph Obama & what not, and what started as two friends busting each others balls on their respective candidates, it sure enough ensured into a heated political debate. Only it was via text messaging and I was on the freeway. I think I escaped death at least 5 times. I kept swerving out of my lane and/or going too slow, yeah, I was "that guy" last night, but I was in the heat of the moment defending my convictions and I didn't want a non-response by me, to be conceded as a "okay, you win," so I risked my life a few times on the freeway to fire back my side of the debate... via text messaging.

Why didn't we just call? I think by the time we were in the crux of our arguing, we were both sick of each other enough to not even want to actually talk, I sort of wanted to fight him, but we didn't want to give up our ground either, so the texting went back & forth.

I've learned a loooong, looong time ago, as far back as Jr. high, to not engage in religious "arguments" with friends or anybody. Discussions are different, discussions are generally taken with more tolerance, open-mindedness and patience, whereas, arguments always end up defensive, heated and nobody wins. I've never gotten in a political "argument" with a friend before, this is probably the most polarized political atmosphere of my lifetime.

He also text me this morning to rub it in that Obama seems to be making a killing, so I shot back, hail Hitler.

As for who won the debate last night? It came down to my literal text, "I'm not texting anymore, I'm going to die if I do, piss off."

I reeeaaaally had to hold back from saying things I'd regret last night. Had we not been texting and giving me 20 seconds to express a thought rather then instantaneously, then it could have gotten unnecessarily and regretibly ugly. Religion AND Politics do that, even among friends.

I agree, completely. I love western medicine, but I also appreciate the intricacies in eastern holistic solutions.

Well guys, America has spoken and the fat lady has sung. I am a bit disappointed, but I'm not the type of guy who will remain angry and resistant for the next 4 to 8 years. I hope things do get better someway and somehow.

Oh boy, my campus went NUTS when Obama was announced the winner. People were screaming, yelling, dancing around and that's all good and fine. What can you say? Their candidate pulled it off. However, what did urke me, were two girls ran into class and sat behind me and bursted out, "OBAMA WON!!" but we were in the middle of class, so although there was "a reaction" it was a modest one and one appropriate for a middle of a GROUP PRESENTATION environment. As we continued to respectfully sit through the ongoing group presentation, the two girls behind me kept whispering, "why isn't everyone more excited? why isn't everyone more excited? did they vote for McCain for something?" with an intonation of disgust and outrage, as if you had to be the most outlandishly and unbearably stupid person in the world to have not held THEIR beliefs in Obama. That's what angers me. Your convictions are your own, don't insult me for mine unless we are in a decided engagement of conversation on the matter.

Of course my "good friend" texted me, "bye Hater" when the presidency was announced and I'm sort of not in the mood for him as a person right now. My other good friend, DJ, also black, called and was happy about the historical value and everything he felt positive about the new president elect. That's completely appropriate, but this rubbing it in, spiteful BS of the other "friend." I hope he gets fired when his employers are taxed too heavily to keep him, I said it.

Finally, to end the political tone of my log, because it is a sealed deal. I know I have friends on here who hold opposite political views and values and that's all good, we don't need to be in the same party to be friends. Most, probably 95% of my friends are democrats and only one has been a big, wet douche. I'm not hateful toward the other side, just my "friend" who has been showing an unexpected and unhistorically evil & spiteful spirit in these last days. We're all united here for the common interest of bettering ourselves through dedication and hardwork in bodybuilding and that's how I see everybody. My opinion of you is not based on a political foundation, I just wanted to make that clear. This will be the last I vent of my "political" frustrations.

Amen. I posted my piece in my own log. I respect others opinions, but since its such a hot topic - I just wanted to throw my hat in the ring.

Right, what's done is done. I feel a bit deflated, not so much angry or anything. This election year has been a hot topic throughout, but its especially sensitive immediately following election results, ya know?

Tomorrow I'm going try a full dose White Flood + Reset-AD combo and report (particularly to DragonFly) my experience that day. I'm "hoping-hoping-hoping" to hit chest, but definitely in a lighter, voluminous manner rather then heavy load and "hope" my left pec holds up.

Edit: Then again, maybe I'll try tonight, I wouldn't want the added enthusiasm of that combo to push myself over the edge and do some unwanted damage to my chest.

Well this one brings some sensitive things in to play. Never before has there been such a strong opinionated divide. We always had to deal with party / abortion / taxes / international policy... but then toss RACE and SEX and ECONOMIC STATUS into the mix? It was a recipe for disaster and hurt feelings.

Regardless - I think America spoke pretty clearly across the race, social, and gender barrier pretty overwhelmingly - particularly at a time where historically the country has leaned conservative. Its time for a new era of politics, and there's not much we have to say anymore for another 4 years.

Sore Winners

Good posts. The "sore winner" effect is ridiculous, immature, and shows more about the power of cult of personality than the candidate himself. Political discussion is dangerous at this time due to the cult effect of this popularity contest. I'm not so much sore at the election, but rather the attitude of the "winners".

My coworker and I were discussing the potential effects of the president-elect's proposed taxation and policy on our very large company while at lunch, and a table beside us started mocking our concerns directly. They almost got a fist to the face directly, too. I couldn't believe the audacity these sore winners had... I mean what did they "win" anyways? Radical tax-and-spend economics, income redistribution, appeasement of enemies, amnesty and weakening borders, etc? The real winners are the Obama family, who will be moving out of a mansion and into another mansion where only 43 other human beings that ever lived could call theirs.

Strangely, I didn't have the energy to get mad at the time, as I'm both weakened by illness and disappointment. I just walked out confident that my life will continue to be awesome simply because I have the drive and skills to be successful regardless of our political environment, I have a relationship with my wife that they could only dream of and mock while full of depression over their own failed attempts at love, and because I have the ability and knowledge to not be a fat f**king tub of lard as they most certainly were. Everything else is obviously out of my hands... I did my part.

I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of "in-yo-face" celebration going on. It's sad.

Sore winners. Conservatives have been good sports in the past, and it seems the president-elect's supporters haven't learned a thing. I'm sure there are plenty of sore losers this election as well. It was a very very active path more much of the country. However, I find it hard to believe this is how the liberals experienced the post-election days after Bush's second term win... Were the conservatives this obnoxious?

The Republican ticket wasn't really a conservative one this year. It was MORE conservative then the Democratic ticket, but the Maverick... well, we don't need to open up that can of worms.

I hear ya. We have a new president elect, a completely new administration (with concerns I'll withhold because that's not what we're doing right now) and all I can do is wait and see.

Just a note for you guys, The Law Firm I work at are staunch Republicans, I mean to the bone then down into the marrow. Every morning the office has Rush Limbaugh playing from 9am-12pm, religiously. This morning, no Rush, no radio, nobodies talking about the results and the general atmosphere is very gloom. It makes me feel a bit sad. People seem like beaten dogs this morning.

Very true about McCain... I was voting more against Obama than for McCain. I apologize for continuing this discussion, but I don't really have anywhere else to vent at the moment, lol. I'm surrounded by idiot soccer moms in an office right now. I'm just glad they are too busy crying about how the cake they just ate will make them fat(ter), than continuing to talk about their "victory".

Every morning, I workout and then head back to the house so I can cook breakfast while listening to Boortz for the last hour of his show, and catch the first hour of Rush before I hit class!

sounds like a great stack bud. can't wait to hear how it treats you.

Thanks, it's a one time deal for experimental fun. I plan on using my Reset-AD on an actual run to clean up the adrenal fatigue at a later time.
I capped my first pills ever last night (Focus Dirt). I'm looking forward to experiencing this supposed adrenal regulator, and it was quite fun even though my Cap em Quick didn't come with the damned tamper... I don't have a scale yet either, so it was interesting. I just scooped enough to fill the caps, and counted the quarter tsps. It ended up being just over 25 x700mg for 50 caps, for an approximate 350mg per cap. Dosing at 2 caps in the AM for a boost and hopefully some adrenal bonus. Just finished with a bottle of Phenadrine (LOVED it), and am taking a week or so off before I continue using.

How long did it take you? I'm looking into this for a few different supps. HMB in particular.

I spent most of my time getting pissed off at the lack of a tamper, and the second largest block of time was trying to figure out how to measure the doses per cap. But all in all it took about 20 minutes total, which would probably be cut down to about 10 minutes max including cleanup if I were to do it again with Focus Dirt.

Frankly, without a scale, I'm not sure how I would measure a tamped cap anyways. The first pass is easy to get a raw estimate by dividing the amount of scoops (based on the mg per 1/4 tsp on the NP bulk containers) by the number of caps filled. But beyond that, I think it would get even less accurate once you've tamped and refill again. What I did at first was to try and determine how many caps a single scoop (700mg) would fill, and it was just at or slightly under 2 caps. From there a full 50 "00" cap run was right on the money with 25 scoops required without tamping. I'm dosing at 700mg currently, but could go up to just over a gram, then 1.4 grams very easily with this dosing amount.

This is fine for things that I do not really need a very accurate measurement, but what if I only need 100mg of something (like grapeseed extract)? I'd probably have to cut it and mix it with something if I needed to use "0" or "00" caps... not sure how to measure if I'm not filling a cap up to full. Theres a thread on the forums here talking about that. I'll give a look for it.

I'm also interested in Phenadrine.
Phenadrine is f**king FANTASTIC. It is clean, smooth, long-lasting drive and focus. I've been very very sensitive to stims in the past, and this is a powerful stimulant I can use without fear of an anxiety response. It's been amazing for both my work as well as workouts. I highly recommend it, and last I saw APS even had samples available (just send them an email at [email protected]).

Nice. Did you use it for general energy purposes or a cut? I'm looking for something to combine with Recreate, which I basically consider a non-stim, for a cut later on.

Sounds good to me. I'm going to hit 'em up for a few samples. Thanks SokVichet!! :head:

I used Phenadrine solely for energy, focus, and motivation purposes. I didn't notice much thermo effect, but my dosing was most often 1x twice a day for early morning and preworkout. However, reaper did do a fat loss / cut run (just search APS Phenadrine and you'll see his log).

In another post somewhere, I mentioned I'll be stacking Phenadrine and Recreate for my ~February cut. Recreate is amazing, and the only thermo I've been able to use. I was hoping that with my expanded stim experience, I might be able to try a Recreate / Leviathan Reloaded stack, but I think it'd be too much for my sensitivity.

Currently, I've got my cut all stocked up with the recent sales. It's looking like Recreate / DCP / AP / Col. Forskohlii / [Stimulant]. That stimulant will almost certainly be Phenadrine, but I'm gonna try to get an LR sample in the meantime to see if I can handle it. It's gonna be sick, and I think I'll be able to keep most of my muscle if I can get my diet calcs right. Nutrient Repartitioning + tight diet + Leucine assisted fasted cardio + ridiculous supplementation = a lean-ass ViChet!!!

Do you just give them your address or do you say anything particular? I've never asked for samples before.
I just asked for their Phenadrine samples. Then I left my mailing address. And said "thank you" of course. MST sent me samples this way. It should work here also.

my only response to this is as follows.

mccains speech, he congratulates obama, and there are boos throughout the crowd.

obama speaks of mccain and his admiration for him, and the crowd claps and cheers.

i will admit, i sent a few friends text messages saying, "haha youre a socialist now" out of good fun because they used that argument to bash on obama.

Day 20; BLOCK Pyramids

Today was my first time back at re-attempting a chest workout since my last close call left pec tear.

In order to preserve safety, I performed what I call, Block Pyramids; Quasi Chest Rehab Day.

Flat Bench (BLOCK Pyramids)
135lbs x 30 reps
135lbs x 30 reps
135lbs x 30 reps

185lbs x 15 reps
185lbs x 15 reps
185lbs x 15 reps

225lbs x 10 reps
225lbs x 10 reps
225lbs x 10 reps

245lbs x 5 reps
245lbs x 5 reps
245lbs x 5 reps

275lbs x 3 reps
275lbs x 3 reps
275lbs x 3 reps

Close-Grip Bench Press (Half a Block Pyramids)
135lbs x 15 reps
135lbs x 15 reps
135lbs x 15 reps

155lbs x 12 reps
155lbs x 12 reps
155lbs x 12 reps

Laying Double Db Triceps Extensions
30lbs Db's x 10 reps
30lbs Db's x 10 reps
30lbs Db's x 10 reps

Reverse Triceps Extensions - EZ Bar
100lbs x 15 reps
110lbs x 15 reps
120lbs x 15 reps
130lbs x 12 reps
140lbs x 10 reps
150lbs x 8 reps

It was a confident return to benching. I didn't feel any pulling or straining of my left pec, but of course my chest was filled to the brim with blood after my 90 reps, 1st block.

Since I withheld from performing a full chest day out of safety and precaution, I made it a chest and tri's. My tri's don't really fatigue very easily, but I was too exhausted to continue. The giant bench press block drained a lot from me.

My ability to press out reps felt amazing today. The load I used today wasn't that great, but the amount of volume i was able to sustain was fantastic.

Strength wise, it's hard to tell. My reverse triceps extensions felt stronger today, but I don't normally count isolated movements when noting strength improvements, because I hardly ever do these auxillary exercises in order, so it's hard to tell from week to week if I'm improving in strength. A 3rd exercise could be the last exercise the following week. I normally take my "opening" exercises or a largely compound movement as a legitimate strength gain. It's just a personal method thing, and not something I judge other people's PR's by. I understand for the most part, a PR is a PR, but I hope I was able to express my own perspective without confusion or condescendence. Furthermore, clearly I wasn't pushing my load max today, so I can't give any remotely accurate strength reports on the flat bench.

BLOCK (party) Pyramids felt like a safe approach for me today. Maybe one or two more of these sessions and I can't start taking on some legitimate weight again.

Ewwww... I missed the speech, and would have been ashamed about the boos... That's pretty nasty. Well, you know it's easy to cheer for the loser when you are the winner.

Wow, that right there is a nice looking stack.
Thankya. I've been thinking about this cut for a while now. I'm really looking forward to being lean again. I'm sorta getting dirty in this bulk, lol. I've been eating a f'ing truckload cause my weight gain stagnated for a bit there.

True and true, on both accounts. It is easier to cheer the loser when you're the winner, but the boo's should have been withheld out of respect. However, considering the situation, you can understand the heavy sense of disappointment and even anger in the crowd and it's much easier to be graceful when you're in the winner's circle. That said, I reiterate my accordance with both of your points.
