Vitamin B6 vs. P-5-P and NERVE DAMAGE

"studies have shown that consistent intake of vit b6 in excess of 500mg per day can cause nerve damage"-Datbtrue.

I was wondering if anyone has info on this. the context of the question is using p-5-p vs higher doses of B6 to control prolactin when using progestins. what is a safe dosing/cycling protocol for using EITHER of these compounds to control prolactin...thanks

the nerve damage is from using b6 from pyridoxine hcl, not p-5-p. In clinical studies, they used 600mg of b6 a day (not sure whether p-5-p or pyridoxine) for a week to stop women who had recently given birth to stop lactating entirely.

so would you say a dosing protocol of 100-200mg per day p-5-p while using progestins and can be run indefinitely with no risk? (assuming lengthy use of progestins for sake of conversation).

yeah for sure. if you look at it, 100mg is not an uncommon dosage even of pyridoxine hcl. 200mg a day seems to be a good protective amount. plus it aids protein synthesis too

Something like ZMA may be good, as it has a little b6, and Zinc is also said to lower prolactin.
