I been training for a long while and these are a def staple to have for me. Any opinions on them ? Like them hate them? Do you use them ?

I’m confident to say Universal makes good products. I have used a lot of their products over the years with good results. Invalid Link Removed

I don't use them personally, but I trust Universal's quality so I think they're a good brand choice for people looking for them.

I haven't bit the bullet and tried them but i've seen them online.

Personally they are a must for me. I believe they are worth a try. They are cheap enough

They're liver tabs watered down with collagen labeled as "beef protein isolate." Which is fine if that's your thing, and at least they are indeed cheap as one would expect. But people should know what they're buying.

How do you know this? Did it say it in the label and I just over looked it. If that’s the case I won’t be taking them anymore. This would be highly dissapointing

The product is labeled accurately and correctly, and it is what you think it is - amino acids derived from beef protein.

The ingredients are:
100% Beef Amino Acid Complex (Beef Protein Isolate, Desiccated Argentine Beef Liver),
and then followed the ingredients the tablets are made of.

What he is saying I think, not trying to speak for him, when he says watered down collagen, is that beef protein is similar to collagen and some people consider collagen superior to beef protein and thus may consider beef collagen 'watered down'.

Beef protein powder is made from hydrolyzed gelatin, which is collagen that's broken down into smaller peptides to make it easier to absorb. Some beef protein isolates are rich in collagen, containing around 80% collagen or more.

Neither is really overall better than the other because they are really geared towards different things, so which one is better would depend on what you are using it for.

Here's a quick explanation for anyone interested.

Collagen vs. Beef Protein - in simplified terms:
Collagen and beef protein are both proteins that come from beef, but they have different functions and amino acid compositions.

Collagen:
Collagen is a key structural protein that is found in animal connective tissues, bones, skin, tendons, & ligaments. It is made up of amino acids and is considered an incomplete protein because it can't be absorbed in the body in its whole form.

Collagen supplements contain collagen peptides, which are small pieces of broken down collagen, and are commonly used to help support skin elasticity and joint health.

Beef Protein:
Beef protein powder is a complete protein that is made from hydrolyzed gelatin, which is collagen that's broken down into smaller peptides to make it easier to absorb.

Beef protein is more focused on muscle building and for overall nutritional protein intake, whereas collagen is more focused on skin and joint health.

This is a 100% informational post for people that want to learn more.
I don't take, and we don't sell nor have any intention of ever selling beef aminos, beef protein, or collagen.

1) ain't nothin wrong with some collagen.

2) it's got a good amount of beef liver in there, which many people like to take, and people from my era and before hammered daily by the fistful.

3) universal is legit and doesn't lie on their labels.

4) if you like the effects, keep taking it!

Thank you for the very informative reply. I appreciate it man. I get the point now makes sense.

I like the effects bro that’s for sure been using this on and off for about 20 years, I usually take 6 at a time 2 times a day sometimes just one. Depends. Being in not aware of the techno past of it when that guy posted about watered down to me it made it sound cheap and almost like Universal was full of ****. You and Steve have convinced me other wise. Thanks guys

1) Agreed, I never said there was anything wrong with collagen.

2) Probably, but it's <50%. Based on the amino profile, there's a ton of glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline which are the aminos from collagen. Beef protein isolate is listed first as the amino blend ingredients meaning there's more of it than there is desiccated liver. This is what I meant by "watered down", as many people back in the day (and maybe even still today) mistakenly thought of these tabs as cheaper alternatives to Ultra 40 tabs.

3) Agreed, and again I never said they lied. But as mentioned in a prior post, "beef protein" is a somewhat misleading industry marketing term for collagen. Beef protein

4) 100% agree, and this is really what matters.

100%. One of the few companies that has stood the test of time and has a great track record overall

I’ve used these and similar huge amino tablets for a long time. I used to use some amino acid tablets by a company called Genesis Nutrition. I think they are no longer around. They had them at the base commissary when I was a teenager and my mom would get them for me.

I was stoked when I found these by Universal Nutriition. I don’t know if it’s really just in my head, or not, but I swear I can tell a huge difference when I take them. Even with BCAAs and other types of aminos I feel like these just really hit the spot. I get harder and bigger much faster than with other items.

It really could just be in my head but I feel like the full amino profile in these might just way better than others that seem to focus on BCAAs or others. For me, at least. I specifically searched for this hoping I wasn’t the only one who felt like they made the difference. Haha.

They came out with these bc the liver pills price point has gone up so much. You don't get the full beef liver experience with these, but they're still a good overall amino

If you can find Uni-liver, they're great.

Beverly makes a good liver pill, though. 500 pills for like $55. Uni-liver used to be like $30. 6-12 of those a day. Appetite tends to go up on them.

Otherwise... Ancestral is the big one.
