The iron in Uni-Liver tabs is Heme Iron fellas. NOT the same stuff that is being discussed in articles where they talk about an excessive iron intake for men. Couple that with the fact that all of your best known body builders over the years used them and swear by them and even after retirement will still tell you they are gold to the body builder. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Dave Drapper, there is a list as long as this continent. Not much to worry about here in the way of this topic.
Also a common misconception or over sight is this: when looking at dietary needs vs the RDA of anything the fact is that a body builder/power lifter/athlete is going to use, burn and need more than what has been set up on the baseline. In fact, in some cases, so much so that it may be hard to believe but just looking at the caloric needs of a body builder vs that of the average man should give you a basic understanding of this.
The point is that bodybuilders are burning up a lot more of what we put into our bodies than the average person and if you couple that with the fact that Heme is used by the body as needed with any excess being discarded then you can see where the error in thinking is here.
3 to 4 decades of well accomplished body builders can't be wrong about something they have proven over and over again to work fellas.
My personal advice is to not worry about it but if it concerns you, do further research until you are comfortable or avoid use of any such product. In this later case however, you are going to want to reassess many of the sports supplements you take right down to your daily multi. There are plenty of things more than just iron to consider.
The average couch potato would be advised to use caution in this case. The guy in the gym throwing his guts out trying to build muscle mass needs much more nutrient base to cover his needs and provide for growth.
I don't want to offend, but I myself am going to go with the advice of people like Arnold, Dave, Frank, Dorian, etc... vs the advice of the author mentioned above who I have never heard of.
This is just how I think. So far, it's been working very well for me. I've never been healthier, stronger or more muscular than I have been since I started doing all this and I used Uni-Liver tabs, 4 with every meal, every day of my life.
I hope I've helped calm some of the concerns posted in here but if not, I encourage anyone looking for more information to research "both" sides of any fence you are straddling before making a decision so that your decision can be a quality one.
