diutetics mask steroids or just a particular diuretic?

When fighters are from a country where there are OTC steroids you cant help but think they all use.

I just watched the event last night...I'm quite pleased to see that most are *****ing about the Bisping fight and there's little controversary over the Rampage fight.

So there's a lot of talk of Hendo moving down in weight...why not Mirko? Any thoughts?

I don't think Mirko's too big to move down to 205, but his ego might be. 2 losses may change that.

I was thinking the same thing. There is a great article on MMAJUNKIE about how the UFC should force him to move down. It suits him better b/c of his "stalking" style. He is just too small and will get pushed around by most of the HW. But you are right, in his eyes it is a "step down" and he is probably not willing to do it. If he weighs in at 220 he could drop to 205 pretty easily I would think. I wish he would still have that fire at HW that he used to have though.

220 down to 205 is definitely not a stretch. I've seen pretty much all of his fights, but I can't recall if he has ever fought at 205...I know he's fought a few guys that normally fight at 205, but maybe they upped their weight (or it was one of those Pride fights with the limitations on rules via the difference in weight...can't remember).

CC has always fought as a HW. He used to weigh about 205 back in his early K-1 days. Biggest I remember him being was 233.

There was a while when he got kind of bulky at 230+. His chest and upper thighs were massive, but it looked like it wasn't optimal for speed.

I remember him being at his biggest when he fought Randleman the second time, and against Coleman. He sure looked strong as hell against Coleman. Coleman kind of double glanced at Mirko a couple times, as if to say, are you serious with how strong you are. WTF happened to that CC. He just seems so much weaker and less explosive. Hope to see the old decapitater back in action.

CC was one of the major reasons that I really got into MMA. I will always pull for him just as I do with Wand, but this is not the Mirko that I saw plow through opponents in '05-'06. He is very gun shy now and I really hope he remembers who he is and what he is capable of doing.

Yeah that sounds about right on the time frame. I remember him being strong as hell too, just throwing guys off him if they tried to clinch or shoot. It's pretty clear to me by his physique that he was using... of course so were Randleman and Coleman. Maybe it's that and a different training regimen or lack of motivation, nagging injuries. I remember how lightening quick both him and Fedor were when they fought. I had trouble following the exchanges. Same with the OWGP finals.

He actually didn't seem that gunshy to me at the very start of the fight, but in rounds 2 and 3, WTF.

The story is that he did break a rib in round 1. That could have seriously slowed him down. Plus the nut shots he took. Remember Kalib Starnes on TUF? He didn't even break a rib and he quit. Remember Hughes taking a "nut shot" from GSP and falling over? CC showed toughness to stay in and fight and I think it really did affect him. I'm not going to make excuses for CC though b/c Kongo caused the damage. You damage an opponent, you can win, that's the point of the fight. However it could contribute to why CC slowed down in 2 and 3.

I personally think he needs better game plans and some mental work (like GSP). I know he doesn't like the ground much, but Kongo had shown in his past fights (and in round 1) that he (Kongo) has very little ground game.

I'll just go watch old CC and Wandy highlights. Hey, we still got Shogun and Rampage :)

seems like CC doesn't want to fight anymore.

I hope they reverse the decision for Hamil, its just sad to see something like that happen.

on a brighter note... is it just me or did anyone else think Rampage's play-by-play was the funniest thing ever. I cant remember the last time i saw something that entertaining. I like Rampage, he is a really good guy. Very humble if you meet him in person, and funny.

Rampage vs. Houston ..that would be a fight to watch!

Hey, they asked him to do play by play, so he did the real deal play by play. It was pretty entertaining, and accurate. I think Rampage would school Houston, but I'm wrong often and Houston seems to be the new Sokodjou. I agree about Rampage, he seems to be a great guy. Besides Fedor, and I don't know what he's saying most of the time, Rampage seems to have the best personality in MMA.

Not sure about CC. You may be right, it seems he's lost his mojo. He could regain it of course, we'll have to wait and see. It'll be interesting to see who his next opponent is. I just hope he has at least one more true CC performance to come. He could end up being a more accomplished Belfort, all the talent in the world, but a headcase, and never able to reach/maintain his full potential. He was the same way in K-1, when he was on top of his game he could hang with the best, when he wasn't, he could be taken out by mediocre K-1 guys. When estimating an athletes worth, mental strength should be top on the list, and it seems it barely gets a mention. Whatever, Waaaaaaaaaaaar CC, or whatever the sherdoggers say.

What is the Rampage play-by-play you guys are talking about? The Mickey's replay? Pride?

um when he won and joe rogan gave him the mike.... Rampage is fkn cool!

and yeah mental strength and heart is mucho importante!!!!!!!! very very underestimated.

I'd have to rewatch, but I thought it was hilarious when he said something like "but DAn kept trying to hurt my fists with his hard head".....and then nobody laughed, he just stood there thinking "umm....it was a joke people". I think sometimes Rampage brings up the whole "I'm black, down with the man" thing too often, he is obviously just doing it in fun and seems like a really cool guy.

Agreed, Rampage is a good champ. Hilarious.

When someone said PBP, I thought they were talking about the way he did PBP in PRIDE, such as during Wandy vs. Kondo. That's why I was confused.

I think Rampage is a great champ and I'm happy he got his UFC belt finally. He really is a humble person in real life and takes the time to speak with his fans. I remember when I met him at the Chicago NAGA event a few years ago, I was talking to him and this little kid walks by. He must have only been like 5-7 years old, but he had a mohawk and wearing a Chuck Liddell shirt. Rampage looks at him all crazy and points to the kid and says "I'm coming for you Chuck!!!" The poor little kid looked like he was about to pee his pants.

I just rewatched the Page-Hendo fight and here is my impression this time:
round 1 - hendo
round 2 - pretty even with both on top equal periods of time. Quinton did more on top and the crucifix briefly so he wins.
round 3 - really close, maybe Dan
round 4 - Page
round 5 - really close but the end probably gave it to Page
I'd really have to slow-mo to see which punches landed cleanly and what not though for the close rounds. Dan could in theory have won ....but hasn't Dan gotten enough questionable already?

Fucing Bisping That Grandmoter Fucer Hammil Should Ask For A Re-match And Destroy Him, Sorry A Little Late For It But I Just Watched The Re-run Again Had To Get It Out Somehow....

I swear to you I am not trying to be a smartass, but what do you mean by "Grandmoter Fucer"? I think they are fighting each other again at UFC 80, once again on Bisping's turf.
