Two suggestions: a deleted items folder, and a close thread option

My first suggestion is a feature that allows a thread to be closed from further post. But only the OP can close the thread. I think some threads get beaten to death, and if the OP feels satisfied with results of the thread, then he/she should be able to either close the thread to prevent any more posts, or be able to submit a request to have it closed.
My other suggestion is for a deleted items folder so that if someone accidently deleted a PM by mistake, they can go to the deleted items folder and retrieve it. I understand the need to manage space. I am an IT person myself so I respect that. The color code to hint the user of the space usage is a good tool, so once the red exceeds the other colors, then I am sure users will delete stuff to make room. Or maybe set a life span on pm messages. After x amount of time, they get deleted automatically.
 
You can now close/open your own threads. We'll see how this goes. The other options, I'll look into.
 
Good call. This feature should allow more freedom for the OP.

Frank - any chance of being able to reserve certain POST (ex. 1 - 5) w/o having to scrampble and try to reserve them after one creates the thread and before the public can subscribe? Maybe have this option when you're in the Thread Creation portion.
 
Wow, thanks for such a quick response. Once again AM has proved why this is the best place to be. So, as requested, no one else can close a thread except admin, or the OP?
 
As far as I know, yes...lol


..then again, I have been know to check/uncheck the wrong permissions :D
