Turff49 Quest for Success

Pyramid Inclines from Hell! Nice!

Lol! Machines that have a couple slipped gears and in need of a little grease! Lol

Yep, might as well call me the tin man with all the metal I have in my back...lol

Good deal on those bands, the more you use them the more things you start to realize you can do with them too! Try some straight arm lat pull downs with the orange bands, talk about a MAJOR lat pump. I like to do as many straight arm as possible then step back a little change the angle and do rows until I fail. Great way to finish off the back with them which is something you have to do creatively with the bands.

Thought you were part bionic?
I don't think you are suppose to snap crackle pop when you have bionics!

I'm sure I will find all kinds of innovative ways to utilize these. Will give the straight arm pull downs a try when I do back. Love getting my lats all pumped up!

Part terminator. But yeah, same difference.
Maybe the terminator who got his ass beat!

Thanks guys!

Sent my resignation letter in this morning. Only working 1 job now. The one that I had been with almost 20 years offered me a raise while the one I'd been working for this past year didn't even give a bonus or even a Merry Christmas. I keep my seniority with the old company too. I will be traveling a lot more but I get paid for every hour I work and it is a much more professional atmosphere. I'm also very well respected in my field of expertise, which I ventured away from with this previous job. My stress level has already diminished from where it was just 2 weeks ago. I've had this sort of in the works/back pocket for awhile now. Made the final decision when I didn't even get a thanks, bonus, or even a Christmas card from the owner/decision makers and my old company gave me a 5% increase. Good thing I did part time work for them over this past year. It kept my options open!
Now maybe I can get my workouts back to normal!

Happy for you Brian.

Thanks guys. Just glad it's over. Life is good now.

Had another one of those in the groove workouts. Just one exercise but a pyramid from hell!

One arm Barbell Rows left then right each set
50 x 10
75 x 10
90 x 10
110 x 10
125 x 10
140 x 7
150 x 4
130 x 8
110 x 10
From here no rest between sets
100 x 10
90 x 10
80 x 10
70 x 10
60 x 10
50 x 10

Holy crap, I sweated my ass off. Friggin lats are all swole. And I'm exhausted. Didn't use any 45lb plates either so I could get deeper and get a much more full pull.

Lol! Your one arm rows trump my two arm! Hands down!! Beast!!

Thanks guys. I'm feeling this one...lol

I don't know how you do it. One arms are so much harder than meadows', IMO. Especially on my back

I really keep everything tight, especially my core to keep from torquing the back. Sometimes my lats just really cooperate and I can "feel" them and that just makes it so much easier to stay tight.

Do you pull with the hand before or after the weight plates?

Before the plates. Weights are forward of the hand.

I thought you grabbed the middle of the bar and one armed them that way.

With 150 on each end too!!! Just like a Kroc row...lol

Damn man! Love seeing that brute strength!! Cheers buddy!!!

Early afternoon shoulder workout. Lats are still fried from last night and I could tell too.

Seated Barbell OHP - to clavicle
135 x 10 X 2 sets
155 x 10 x 2 sets - geez I felt these
Decided not to do 185 today

Seated DB OHP DB touch delt's
50 x 10 x 2 sets
60 x 10 x 2 sets
70 x 10 x 2 sets
No 80's today

Front laterals
20 x 10 x 4 sets

Side lateral raises
20 x 10 x 4 sets

Rear delt raises
20 x 10 x 4 sets
I really felt these

And I'm done. Will relax awhile, drink a few beers, and the wife is fixing filet mignonette with lobster tails for dinner. Nice evening at home!
And it's once in a blue Moon I even have a drink so I bought Blue Moon as my choice of beer.

Your volumes are crazy!

Thanks Puccah. I feel I've been slacking for the past several months though...

You're always killing it to me!!! ???? but I know what you mean. Sometimes we're just going through the motions but you'll get back on top in no time! :)

When the mind muscle connection is there everything just works so fluidly...

Threw a few monkey wrenches into my chest workout today and it friggin smoked me.

Incline barbell press with a 4 tempo and pause reps. Probably a little much to combine both...lol
135 x 10 X 2 sets
185 x 8
205 x 8
225 x 5
235 x 5
255 x 4 holy chit!!
245 x 3 4 minute break
235 x 5
225 x 5
205 x 5
185 x 5 these felt heavier than the 255
135 x 5

I'm whipped. My chest and tri's are sore. And to think I've got arms tomorrow...chit.

Wow! Nice weight and volume let alone with the tempo included too!

You sure are starting the year off right! Less stress and pounding the weights!!

Edit- btw we went to an indoor water park with the kids on the way home....there was a buff guy there that made me think of you!

Thanks Kat! Another "me" out there? Lord help us then...lol

Very STRONG inclines! Brian the Beast!

Arms today. They gave out during my workout...lol

Wide. Grip Skullcrushers each set consisted of 10 to top of forehead immediately followed by 10 to the nose for a total of 20 reps per set.
75 x 20
85 x 20
95 x 20
105 x 20
115 x 20 these were brutal to the nose. Took everything I had to maintain form.

Ez bar curls wide grip
75 x 20 x 4 sets

Bench dips
BW X 15
+45 x 15 x 2
+90 x 15

Just couldn't go on from here. Mind and muscles both said stop!

I gotta get some arm time in too. Strong inclines Bryan

Yikes! I wonder why your arms said no!

Good stuff Brian! Don't sweat the not having the mojo for a few months. We all go through it. Hell I just went through a mini-cycle where I was completely mojo-less the last 3 weeks. I just had to call myself out about relaxing too much recently. Seeing hard work being done in here helps!

Workouts have been sparse this week. A big excavation project at work has had me hopping. Good news is I've been getting a good core workout in by being on my feet for 11hrs a day out in the woods, so lots of walking and standing. Hard to believe I actually missed this type stuff...lol

And I've been asked to go to Alaska for a 7 month stint to run one of our jobs out on Adak Island. Definitely a "remote" site. Should be an interesting year...lol

Hopefully the wife gets to go. Alaska is beautiful.

Too remote to take her. I will get a 2 week break at midpoint.

that dere cold air will activate yer brown fat.
Still working out some details. Told them I needed at a minimum a rack, bench, and weights. Or it's a no go. Can't go weeks and weeks without real weights.

Told the wife if I do this I'll treat her to a 2 week vacation anywhere she wants. Tahiti, Bali, anywhere. I'll be more than compensated on my pay, especially if the job goes the way all my projects have in the past.

Don't forget to make sure they realize they will be shipping the rack and weights back to your home, or mine if you don't have room...

Alaska? Say hi to Bill kazmaier for us! And I like the minimum demands. Lifting waits for no one.

Bill is still one of my all time favorites! Along with deceased Doug Furnas.

If they can't provide me my essentials then I'm not making the sacrifice. I must be insane to even entertain the idea...lol

This was my thought when you said that you were entertaining the idea when the reason to move back to them full time was to work less and have more time for yourself. Then again being in Alaska alone, any time not working would probably automatically be spent working out. So I can definiterly see the need for that. Hell I would tell them battle ropes and a prowler or sled too!!!!!

We will have the ropes from the barge. And a welder on site so making the sled would be easy. Plenty of Caribou for lean meat, salmon, and halibut, so the diet would be spot on. Being away from the wife for an extended time is ok this year. She had both surgeries that required me to be here. It's one of only 2 remote locations I would even consider going to. The other being Midway Island.
