Turff49 Quest for Success

Those Meadows numbers, superset set or not, are huge.

Nowhere close to your Meadows. I think 170 or 175 was as high as I've gone.
I was pleasantly surprised I could get to 150 doing a tri superset like this. I was so fatigued afterwards that I had to force myself to eat. True rarity for me.

I couldn't beat that in that superset. No way..

I know this "fatigued" feeling. It's almost like the body goes into severe protection mode and wants you to do absolutely nothing but rest - no eating or anything else. I have added chills when this happens as well.

Skipped workout yesterday as I knew work was going to be a workout.
Had to pour a bunch of concrete pads out in the woods yesterday. 35 trips back and forth with 35 bags of concrete and enough water to mix each bag.
It turned into a 9hr full body workout. My body is sore this morning too. My helper yesterday was a 61yr old guy. I did all the toting lol.
Should be a short work day today 4-5hrs and then will see if I feel like getting a chest workout in!

You burying bodies out there?

Lol! No, if I had bodies to get rid of I'd use a few certain key chemicals to dissolve everything. Building some injection systems at monitoring wells on a groundwater contaminated site on the old Air Force Base.

This is called hypoglycemia

Got a quick but effective workout in.

245 x 1
225 x 3
205 x 5
185 x 10
135 x 20
Didn't wear my wrist wraps today and felt this one in my right wrist when I was finished. Wrist wraps definitely help that's for sure.
No other exercise needed as I had a good pump going and chest was lit up!

Great pyramid. And nice that you maintained the same reps on the way back down. Definitely not easy!

Strong work Brian. Screw that high rep pressing before the singles. That would've toasted me.

Great pyramid.

He learned that cheerleading in high school.

Yep, our girls didn't wear panties though...lol

Thanks Thomas. I have to do some high reps to get warmed up...

Wow, 135x20 after all that ....

That 135 felt light on the 2nd go around starting out but by rep 15 it was getting difficult. Chest was tight and inflexible by rep 20.
The 255 felt light but the 265 felt really heavy. That's why I started dropping back down.

Had to drive to Va yesterday. Might make it back home tonight, depends on how long these assessments take and if I feel like making that late drive. Have my Stimz with me so we shall see!

Good to see the back is better and you are feeling strong again! Good call on not working out on a day you are doing GPP work all day!

Been out of it for a few days. Got home really late Tuesday night from Va and woke up Wednesday morning looking like elephant man. Seems I got a high abscess in a tooth I had a root canal done on 30 years ago. My whole cheek and around my eye swole up. Took antibiotics and pain mess all day yesterday and stayed in bed. Still got some swelling this morning but it's down a lot. Needless to say I came no where close to my macros yesterday. Hope to get back on track today. What a freaky thing to happen...

Argh! Dental pain is almost as bad as back pain! Heal fast!

Yea man iwas getting those twords the end of my cycle ....epistane did the last time I used it as well. I would get one a week for the last four weeks. Now the epi is gone my mouth is alot healthier

I've not been on anything for about 8 weeks now. Even quit the low dose test. Wanted to see what the outcome would be. Honestly my strength hasn't dropped any and my endurance seems to be up. PCT was minimal too.
Only thing I've been taking since coming off test is the typical routine items. Stimul8, max pump, creatine, and BCAA's. PCT was just Clomid and anastrozol when needed. Will get blood work in about 4 weeks from now.
Wonder if it was caused from coming off the test somehow...

I've never seen anything close to evidence relating something like this tbh.

Unless you were pinning in your gums and chewing frozen A-Bombs I wouldn't think they were related :hammer:

I didn't think so either...

I doubt it is related, just one of those things... hope it clears up quickly for you!

Well, now that this week is over(travel, sick, late nights for work) I got in a decent workout. Heavy arms and what I thought was going to be a "light" back session.

EZ Bar curls
70 x 15 wide
70 x 15 narrow
80 x 10 wide
80 x 10 narrow
90 x 10 wide
90 x 10 narrow
100 x 8 wide
100 x 8 narrow
110 x 6 wide
110 x 6 narrow

Skull crushers hands 2 inches apart
70 x 20
80 x 10
90 x 10
100 x 10
110 x 10
120 x 7

One arm BB rows ss Meadows rows
45 x 10 / 45 x 10
70 x 10 / 70 x 10
90 x 10 / 90 x 10
115 x 10 / 115 x 10 took a rest between this ss...

I was fatigued by the time I got to the 115. It felt like the 140 on the body. Moving the 115 wasn't a problem, keeping enough O2 was killing me. I was sweating like crazy too, pretty humid outside this morning.
Hopefully I have a normal week this coming week and can get my usual workouts in.

Intense volume and lovin it! I wish work would just send me my paycheck. Nice lifting.

Sometimes after a great workout you just have to reward yourself! The item on the plate is homemade Salmon dip with Cream cheese, salmon, raisins and whatever else she put in it!

That looks so good.

How in the world did your bicep not pop?!

Yum. Did you ever buy your Tempurpedic bed? I'm looking but the $6k price is outrageous.

I was wondering that a couple weeks ago and forgot to ask.

6K? We paid 4 for a Cali King. Well worth it.

No, not yet. I'm a friggin cheapskate...lol
I have a hard time letting go of that kind of money. Sleep has been better right now too. Probably will get it during one of the big sales that'll be coming up... Depends on the wife's surgeries coming up too.

Man what a workout.. all those curls and meadows/one arms as a closer.... and a fine looking meal as a reward.. good on ya!

Crazy money for a bed (even though it has an adjustable base and we have to have two twin XL mattresses since the wife likes firm and I like soft mattresses). Tempurpedic never has "sales" according to salesperson.

I like the alternating grip on the EZ Curls. I am going to try that during my next arm workout!

Stores run sales though...where you get a few freebies.

You'll enjoy them! Hitting the bicep at different angles and gives them a much fuller look.

Didn't you ever see his biceps!!! That's why! !

Thanks Rip. Always had decent arms for my size. Went through a CT Fletcher type moment when I was really young. Was that skinny kid with strong but small arms. Worked them every day when I was in my 20's lol!

Lol! I command you to grow! ISYMFS!!

Maybe I should've kept at it and I'd have 22's now too...lol
On a good pump day I can squeeze out to almost 18.25-18.5 at a body weight of 200lb

Shoulder day at home gym...

Seated barbell OHP - to below chin

45 x 20 for a good warmup and get stretched
95 x 10
135 x 8
155 x 6
185 x 4
185 x 3

Front laterals
25 x 10 x 4sets

Side laterals strict form
25 x 10 x 4sets

Barbell shrugs
225 x 10
285 x 10
355 x 10
Wish I had a bar with a curve in it for these or a shrug bar...

That ended my session. First time doing 185 x 4 on barbell OHP followed by another set of 3. Guess I can up the weight a little or may just do more reps. Kills the wrist though at this weight. HS OHP is just much easier on the wrist...

You should try wrist wraps on them. I do for all too sets.

It's more from having to bring the bar out to get past the face, at that point the forearm isn't directly below the bar. On the HS OHP machine the face becomes irrelevant to the movement. On standing OHP you lean the head back some.
My fusions in the neck kind of limit my mobility...lol

And yes, I need to wear my wrist wraps dang it!

False/suicide grip? Not sure what that is...

Not wrapping the thumb around and squeezing the bar like an inverted pinch (best I can describe it...). The bar will rest a little more in your palm causing less bend in the wrist. Some people don't like it because they think it's unsafe. Idk, I've never had any issues.

Feels comfortable and natural to me, especially with my past wrist surgery/limitations.
