Trauma1 puts 'Gut Health' to the challenge!

Trauma1

Legend
So here's the story.........Literally all week at work there has been a horrible gastroenteritis (stomach bug) going around. It was actually bad enough to hospitalize many patients due to dehydration issues from vomiting/diarrhea.

Today, i woke up and i could feel illness about to hit me. I think the stress of everything going on right now lowered my immune response, and allowed me to become sick. I don't get sick often, but when i do it's usually VERY bad.

Now, i've been taking my Gut Health consistently for about 2 months now. As of this A.M., i've literally had the runs all day long, but no vomiting (THANK GOD!). This type of illness usually causes very bad episodes of both. Already, i'm impressed at having evaded the vomiting aspect.

Overall, i feel that having been using Gut Health has helped prevent the worst overall outcome from this experience. I feel bad, but not the typical in bed and can't move feeling. I was actually able to function and pack some boxes! :) Amazingly enough, i'm keeping fluids down as well.

I shall keep you all updated over the next 24 hours, but this has already been the mildest "Gastroenteritis" i've EVER had. So far, Gut Health is helping me to win the war!!

Kick this bugs azz Gut Health!!! :duel:

Just a quick update:

Temp: 100.4 F

I took my Gut Health this evening as usual. I'm not using any other supplements at this time.

I've been able to eat a good amount this evening, as well as adequately rehydrating myself. The runs have also stopped! :)

Still no episodes of nausea to note. I do have some mild body aches to go along with my low grad temp, but nothing significant at all.

I'll update you all in the morning, but so far, so good. :D

24 hour update:

Temp: 97.6 F (No antipyretics (fever reducers) have been taken during this experiment.

Well, all i can say is........i feel like i'm back to my good old self. :) No chills, no fever, no more issues with "The runs" :toilet:, and i have my energy back today. I know that this experiment probably seems biased to some since i am a rep for RPN, but i'm also very much a man of science. If this experiement didn't work, i would have posted the same. Those that know me know i don't sugar coat results. I took nothing other than my Gut Health, and some good old gatorade during this process to as fair as possible in assessing results.

I had posted an abstract in the "Gut Health" write-up that demonstrated the lactobacillus casei species, and the reduction of associated symptoms and duration of the "rhino virus", and "Influenza virus." That study noted favorable results, as well did my mini experiment imo. :)

From my experiences with typical illnesses of this nature, this was very mild in comparison. I noted milder symptoms, as well as a reduced duration imo. It funny though, i could tell my Gut Health was working due to the EXCESSIVE flatulence last night. :gas:

IMO, the experiment was a success. Now please note, i have been on Gut Health for over 2 months also. I can't say the results would be the same if someone was to begin taking it once they became ill. This experiment was aimed at showing the positive long term effects of its use. :D

you still feeling better?

also, link to your new havoc log?

They help, but don't necessarily prevent. I was around MANY people this week that fell victim to the same illness.

Working in the E.R. over the years i've developed one hell of an immune system, but once in a while a bug comes along that hasn't hit me yet.....not to mention the stress of moving most certainly contributed to a lowered immune response.

I feel better though. :D

I hear you T. When I worked at a school for 5years it was the same, parents letting their sick kids coming to school sick, puking, crapping and the works. Not as bad as an ER though.

You are a nurse right? My best friend is a nurse and I tease him all the time calling him Gaylord Focker:lol: Lame I know, But he gets the last laugh since he is making alot more money than me LOL. He is finishing up school to be a nurse practitioner.

Lol, yeah that's me......Gaylord Focker lol!

I'm actually planning on taking the same path as your friend. However, i may go the Physician Assistant route rather than Nurse Practitoner. Hopefully, that will all get into motion soon. :)

I am sure you haven't been called that before:lol:

Whats the difference between the two?

There really isn't too much, however versatility and preference can be an issue in certain areas of the country.

Florida is bigger on the PA use in the E.R. setting. So....that's most likely the route i'd take. As far as pay goes, it's about the same.

Just to let you all know, i feel the experiment went VERY well. Without a doubt imho i feel that my recovery from this type of illness was far superior than my previous experiences in the past without utilizing probiotics.

I can honestly attribute the Gut Health in helping to limit the damage this illness could have caused to a minimal. Research studies in similar circumstanes have shown very promising and similar results.

Today, i continue to feel 100%!
