So anybody remember TWA flight 800? Supposedly exploded from a problem in a fuel tank..I'm not going to post specifics a quick google search can point you in the right dirrection..but there's overwhelming evidence that it was shot down my a navy cruise missile.
And I know this is hearsay so decide for yourself if you choose to look into this, but my dad is good friends with someone who was on the initial investigation of the crash, before the CIA and the military forced their way in and took control of the investigation, he said all the evidence was there, a navy ship was there, it did infact fire a missile that made contact with the aircraft..

The ones that claim the lobby hit first, Im acknowledging that it is possible that they were wrong about the basement bomb was hitting first....but the addition that the lobby was totally blown out and destroyed shortly after the planes hit cannot be ignored and leads me to believe there were sub-basement bombs although I cannot be certain when they hit, if indeed they were bombs. Explosions going off were completely discarded by NIST, but well documented by multiple witnesses and as well as recorded is a 99.9% fact. Wether or not they were bombs, I cannot sit here as they they were as factual evidence, but NIST admits to not even checking for bombs, and there are independent scientists that found evidence of explosives in the WTC dust samples.
What upsets me is that NIST claims there were no bombs, but they admit they didnt even check for explosives. This is not science. They should have tested for exotic explosives, and if they did they are hiding it from us.
I never looked into that actually...unfortunately unlike 9/11 there is little to go by. I dont think anything is recorded on video, and witnesses are quite limited.

See...this is my issue. There are so many things that a truther cannot answer, especially when their own argument is turned around.
It is entirely likely that these people got it totally wrong, just as you suggested my buddy in 7 did. Additionally, the basement being blown out, to me has a relatively easy answer that I explained above.
Dont get me wrong though. I dont trust this government, never have, never will. Do I think this was an inside job....no, but did we know in advance, with out intelligence.....most likely

The agreement to extend the mission, which NATO took full control of on March 31, was reached at a meeting of ambassadors of the 28 NATO states in Brussels, a NATO diplomat said.
It was the second three-month extension to the mission that has involved a campaign of air strikes and a naval mission to enforce a U.N. arms embargo.

Local media in New York reports that a large number of Occupy Wall Street protesters were arrested this afternoon near Union Square in Lower Manhattan.
“A spokesman for the protesters claimed more than 50 were arrested. The NYPD has not responded to WNYC’s request for comment,” WNYC reported at 5:32 PM EST.
“Protesters wielding signs that demanded ‘End the Fed’ and other anti-Wall St slogans marched up Fifth Avenue near Union Square on Saturday, drawing a significant police presence and snarling traffic in the neighborhood,” Invalid Link Removed writes for the radio station.
BuzzFeed puts the number arrested at around 80. “While the NYPD maintains that they neither own nor use tear gas, some have stepped forward to confirm that they were pepper-sprayed. The establishment media in America has now become the official fringe media. CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, NPR, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time Magazine, and every other "mainstream" media source are all in the same sinking boat. Their boat of greed, lies, hate and hypocrisy is no match for the iceberg of truth.
The fringe establishment media protects the criminal 1 percent that has taken America hostage and refuses to question political leaders in Washington about the crimes they commit and the lies they tell. It covers protests around the world from Iran to China but it does not want to cover the Occupy Wall Street protesters who represent the voice of the American people and the voice of the American founding fathers.
Establishment media clowns try to dismiss 9/11 truth tellers as "conspiracy theorists" and "nut jobs" but they have failed. They try to ignore Ron Paul's rising popularity and mainstream acceptance but they can't cover up reality. They fear Ron Paul more than the plague because they know that what he stands for is the exact opposite of what they have supported for the past several decades.
Ron Paul is the 21st century embodiment of the founding fathers and represents the tradition of the American revolution. The fringe establishment media represents the loyalist side that stood by the tyrannical British King in 1776. Establishment journalists and commentators are standing by the criminal oligarchy that owns Washington and wants to destroy America's liberty and constitution.

The establishment media in America has now become the official fringe media. CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, NPR, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time Magazine, and every other "mainstream" media source are all in the same sinking boat. Their boat of greed, lies, hate and hypocrisy is no match for the iceberg of truth.
The fringe establishment media protects the criminal 1 percent that has taken America hostage and refuses to question political leaders in Washington about the crimes they commit and the lies they tell. It covers protests around the world from Iran to China but it does not want to cover the Occupy Wall Street protesters who represent the voice of the American people and the voice of the American founding fathers.
Establishment media clowns try to dismiss 9/11 truth tellers as "conspiracy theorists" and "nut jobs" but they have failed. They try to ignore Ron Paul's rising popularity and mainstream acceptance but they can't cover up reality. NATOMAS, CA – Natomas school officials are going door to door with a traveling nurse to give whooping cough shots to unvaccinated students.
A new state law requires students entering seventh through 12th grades to get vaccinated against the disease by the start of the 2011-12 school year.
The legislature gave districts 30 days beyond the start of the school year to make sure all students were vaccinated or had a formal exemption filed by their parents or guardians.
As the deadline passes, thousands of students remain unvaccinated. Many school districts have been defying state law and allowing them on campus.
But not anymore in Natomas.
District Student Services Director Heyman Matlock has been driving door to door to find unvaccinated students. Despite warnings and several free clinics, dozens of students haven't been inoculated.
"There could be some family dynamics where they're having hardships in the house and this isn't a top priority in them making it day to day," Matlock said.
District superintendent Walt Hanline, who made the decision to allow unvaccinated students on campus, said the law forced school officials to make a difficult choice.
"The state law said I couldn't have these children on campus, but the state law also said I have to educate children," Hanline said.
By 4 p.m. Friday, officials had visited a dozen homes and vaccinated six students, whose parents were home to give permission.
The group will continue to go door to door until they can reach all the students.
Beginning Monday, students who haven't been vaccinated will not be allowed on campus.
District officials said they'll continue making home visits until every child is accounted for and able to go back in the classroom.

Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura has sensationally called for Ron Paul to quit the Republican Party in order to form a Paul-Ventura libertarian ticket that can take on the establishment candidates in the race for the White House in 2012.
“Ron Paul can win, all you’ve got to do is activate and get the silent voters out to vote,” Ventura told the Alex Jones Show, adding that a Ron Paul-Ventura Libertarian ticket would create “incredible excitement”.
“Ron Paul needs to quit the Republican Party, get the nomination for the Libertarian Party,” said Ventura, adding that he would consider being in a Ron Paul cabinet if the Congressman won.
“I would be his best choice because I would be a great insurance policy,” joked Ventura, noting that nothing would happen to Ron Paul because it would mean he would be in power and would cause the establishment even greater problems than the Congressman.
Ventura cautioned that he would have to consult his wife before committing to being Ron Paul’s VP, but that he would be willing if she gave the green light.
Given that Ron Paul is already committed to the contest for the Republican nomination and is performing well, he is unlikely to switch to the Libertarian ticket. However, Ventura spoke of blazing a trail for future elections where he and Paul could team up, meaning we could yet see a Paul-Ventura ticket in 2016.

The CE-71 today is one of the most sought after and rare motorcycles. Only 390 were ever produced, and today approximately only 15 remain at large. Dr. Bell sold this motorcycle in 1961, right after this picture was taken. Ten years ago Dr. Bell wanted to add a CE-71 back into his motorcycle collection and found out there were none available. The CE-71 today is one of the most sought after and rare motorcycles. Only 390 were ever produced, and today approximately only 15 remain at large. Dr. Bell sold this motorcycle in 1961, right after this picture was taken. Ten years ago Dr. Bell wanted to add a CE-71 back into his motorcycle collection and found out there were none available. The only ones he could find were either owned by the Honda Corporation or in private museum collections. Dr. Bell had only one alternative left to obtain a CE-71, so he put his andromedan holographic projector to the ultimate test. MIKE DAISEY, one of the great solo storytellers of contemporary theater, has traveled the world performing sharp, polemical and extemporaneous monologues about Amazon.com, national security, James Frey and a host of other subjects. Invalid Link Removed brings his latest piece, Invalid Link Removed to the Invalid Link Removed from Oct. 11 through Nov. 13.
Half of the show profiles Mr. Jobs, Invalid Link Removed’s former chief executive, the brilliant micromanager who acknowledged in 2004 that he was battling pancreatic cancer. The other half describes Mr. Daisey’s trip to Shenzhen, China, where he posed as a wealthy businessman to infiltrate factories where Apple products and other electronics are made. He says he witnessed inhumane conditions and interviewed workers outside of factories who said they were as young as 12.
Mr. Daisey spoke by phone recently with Catherine Rampell about what defines a “tech geek” and how his exposure to Chinese factories has changed his relationship with his beloved Invalid Link Removed. These are excerpts from that conversation.
Q. How did you first become interested in Apple and Steve Jobs as the subject for a monologue?
A. I’ve used their products my whole life and have been deeply influenced by Steve Jobs, the way many people have, because he is so associated with his design. The way he sort of dominates Apple means that it really feels like you’re having a conversation with him when you use the devices. I’ve wanted to talk about Apple for a long time, but I don’t do monologues unless there’s something compelling in collision with something else in my life. There was nothing really to talk about until a couple years ago, when I started reading and learning about the working conditions in southern China and investigating the supply chain.
Q. In the show you say that Mr. Jobs is not really a “tech geek.” What do you mean?
A. I mean that he’s far too charismatic to be really what we traditionally think of as a tech geek. He’s more of a showman, a salesman. There’s a lot more of Barnum in him than there is Spock.
Q. There’s a certain theater that comes with Apple product announcements and the entire experience of the Apple store. What do you think of Mr. Jobs as an artist?
A. Well I think that he’s tremendously effective as an artist in that sense. However, it’s deeply unfortunate that he sold out his ideals.
This is someone who had an opportunity to transform the world with these devices and then did. He started as someone whose devices were forged out of piracy, and today it’s the most locked-down computer company in the world. As a capitalist I’m sure that it’s very attractive. But if we’re talking about him as an artist, I’d say that he completely lost track of his ideals.
Q. Have you softened the show because it might feel callous to criticize a man who has serious health problems?
A. The idea that [Mr. Jobs] could pass away is a tremendous distraction from the really essential story. To be truthful, it’s difficult to know that we are so hungry to be distracted from the unfortunate and uncomfortable situation we’ve created for ourselves with China, with our labor, with all of our manufacturing, that we will grasp at whatever it takes to not talk about it.
Q. Did conditions in these factories surprise you?
A. I’d expected conditions to be bad, to be worse than I’d ever experienced, and I’ve lived a relatively comfortable life. What was shocking to me was the level of dehumanization built into the systems that have been put into place by American corporations in collusion with suppliers.
Q. Many Americans resent that China is “stealing” our manufacturing jobs. What do you think about those concerns now that you have experienced firsthand what some manufacturing conditions are like?
A. Let’s be clear. The manufacturing jobs are the way they that they are because we’ve chosen to collude with a fascist country, to strip away the labor conditions that so many thousands fought and died for to make possible. It’s not a function of manufacturing. They’re a function of our decision to strip away essential human rights.
Q. One of the implications of your show is that consumers should think more critically about the devices they buy. But there may not be a more ethical competitor to turn to. How do you hope your show will change viewers’ choices as consumers?
A. The situation we find ourselves in is not terribly different than it was for the Invalid Link Removed movement in the 1950s, an era when the idea that food should not be treated with pesticide was bizarre because people didn’t even understand why you wouldn’t want your food in a can.
In other words the act of making people think about these issues is a revolutionary act because no one is thinking about them.
Q. Have you bought any new Apple products since putting together this show?
A. I haven’t. I can’t undo the truth, and so I find myself making do with the devices that I have.
There’s a hunger in very controlling companies like Apple to create planned obsolescences sooner rather than later, so it will become more and more difficult to stay functional. As a consequence I’m going to have to make some decisions in time.
Q. But I take it you still own Apple products you had bought before researching this show.
A. If I throw them away, I’ll just have to find another device made the same way in order to continue being in conversation with people. Like right now we’re both talking over the telephone, the guts of which were probably made in Shenzhen.

Over 700 Protesters Arrested On Brooklyn Bridge … Claim Entrapment
Associated Press reports:
More than 700 protesters demonstrating against corporate greed, global warming and social inequality, among other grievances, were arrested Saturday after they swarmed the Brooklyn Bridge and shut down a lane of traffic for several hours in a tense confrontation with police.
Some of the protesters claim they were entrapped, but the police deny this allegation. As AP notes:
Some of the protesters said they were lured onto the roadway by police, or they didn’t hear the calls from authorities to head to the pedestrian walkway. Police said no one was tricked into being arrested, and those in the back of the group who couldn’t hear were allowed to leave.
“Multiple warnings by police were given to protesters to stay on the pedestrian walkway and that if they took roadway they would be arrested,” said Paul Browne, the chief spokesman of the New York Police Department.

Hundreds held by NYPD – including New York Times journalist – after attempted march across bridge ends in chaos
More than 700 people were arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday evening during a march by anti-Wall Street protesters who have been occupying a downtown Manhattan square for two weeks.
The group, called Occupy Wall Street, has been protesting against the finance industry and other perceived social ills by camping out in Zuccotti park in New York.
During the afternoon a long line of protesters numbering several thousand snaked through the streets towards the landmark bridge across the East River with the aim of ending at a Brooklyn park.
However, during the march across the bridge groups of protesters sat down or strayed into the road from the pedestrian pathway. They were then arrested in large numbers by officers who were part of a heavy police presence shepherding the march along its path.
At one stage 500 protesters were blocked off by police on the bridge. At least one journalist, freelancer Natasha Lennard for the New York Times, was among those arrested. “About half way across the group of people who wanted to occupy the bridge launched their action and stepped into the road. They wanted to get arrested. It was sort of the idea,” said Yaier Heber, one of the marchers.

The NYPD has arrested over 700 protesters who were occupying the Brooklyn Bridge in what could very well be a defining moment in the battle for freedom and liberty in America.
The police apparently corralled the protesters(depending on whose story you believe) onto the Brooklyn Bridge and then started their arrests of American citizens protesting the very banks that have destroyed this country from within.
The NYPD is essentially doing the dirty work for the banks, which makes complete sense when you consider the fact that JP Morgan actually FUNDS The New York City Police Department.
That’s right, the very police department that has been filmed numerous times beating and macing the Occupy Wall Street protesters has received a considerable amount of money from the very banks that the protesters are targeting!

Hundreds held by NYPD – including New York Times journalist – after attempted march across bridge ends in chaos
More than 700 people were arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday evening during a march by anti-Wall Street protesters who have been occupying a downtown Manhattan square for two weeks.
The group, called Occupy Wall Street, has been protesting against the finance industry and other perceived social ills by camping out in Zuccotti park in New York.
During the afternoon a long line of protesters numbering several thousand snaked through the streets towards the landmark bridge across the East River with the aim of ending at a Brooklyn park.
However, during the march across the bridge groups of protesters sat down or strayed into the road from the pedestrian pathway. They were then arrested in large numbers by officers who were part of a heavy police presence shepherding the march along its path.
At one stage 500 protesters were blocked off by police on the bridge. At least one journalist, freelancer Natasha Lennard for the New York Times, was among those arrested. “About half way across the group of people who wanted to occupy the bridge launched their action and stepped into the road. They wanted to get arrested. It was sort of the idea,” said Yaier Heber, one of the marchers.

The hypocrisy of MoveOn.org seizing control of a protest movement dubbed ‘Occupy Wall Street’ is staggering. MoveOn.org “endorsed Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic Party primaries, fundraised and organized for him, and has become perhaps the lead lobby organization for his policies,” Invalid Link Removed.

The major mainstream media networks like CNN, BBC and Al Jazeera have been busy flooding the world’s TV sets and internet with the confabulation that NATO and its Libyan Rebels have already won their war in Libya, and that the country’s newly crowned Trans National Council(TNC) is a stable governing body, but the truth on the ground is something altogether different.
Resistance from Pro-Gaddafi forces still rages on across multiple fronts including the towns of Bani Walid, Sirte and Ghat.
There are reports that Libya is experiencing little liberation as Invalid Link Removed have been reported to be flying in places throughout the country expressing their support for Gaddafi’s government, as blocs of citizens in Libya are rejecting the TNC and NATO. Libyans are figuring out already that their new liberators are responsible for killing thousands of innocents, as well as other Invalid Link Removed of violence and retribution on the part of NATO and its Rebel confederation of al-Qaeda mercenary fighters.
As the world has already witnessed with Iraq and Afghanistan, a US-led NATO intervention has three phases: regime change, occupation, followed by a protracted period of destabilization. Invalid Link Removed Libya’s interim leaders claim they will not stay in power once the last Gaddafi strongholds are defeated. But Patrick Henningsen, a managing editor of the 21st Century Wire news site, believes that the interim government will stay on long after that.
“To have an indication of what the future is going to look like, all you have to do is look over to Egypt,” he said. “The military government is still in power, and will be in power for some time.”
Nevertheless, Henningsen says there is a huge power struggle within the Transitional National Council.
“These rebels are basically fighting for whatever piece of the pie they can get,” he said. “They do not know for how long they are going to be in power. So they are trying to solidify their own personal interests, while they have not even won the war yet.”
NATO has vowed not to end operations in Libya until civilians are no longer in danger. With Invalid Link Removed because of shelling and water shortages, Henningsen believes the operation will continue until Gaddafi’s last strongholds are emptied of civilians and razed to the ground.
“What they are doing with Sirte is much like it was with Fallujah [in Iraq] – they are trying to empty the city, so that there is only a military presence left, now ‘insurgent’ presence,” he said. “And then they are going to carpet bomb it or just shell it for a week or two, until there is nothing left but a pile of dust.”
Henningsen argued that for now, the West’s main idea seems to be: “It is not stable yet [in Libya]. When stability comes, we will give you democracy.”
But Libya has little chance of growing into a full democratic state, Henningsen says, because the “seeds” planted by NATO’s support for the rebels were not exactly democratic.
“Essentially, NATO has given air cover and military cover to a rebel faction that was not chosen or elected by the people,” he said. “They don’t have a mandate. What we will have, I think, is protracted power struggle, a tribal backlash which is going to occur in Libya as a result of this war.”
He believes that the West is just carving up Libya, and the only stability it is really interested in is if it is stable enough for Western companies to come in and sign profitable contracts.

Texas Congressman and 2012 presidential candidate Ron Paul held hearings Tuesday into a recent and rare one off audit of the Federal Reserve’s crisis-response emergency lending programs of 2008.
In his role as chairman of the Domestic Monetary Policy subcommittee, Paul relished the glimmer of transparency that was afforded as part of the Dodd-Frank Act, signed into law last year.
“More people now are starting to realize that the Fed isn’t independent of political independence because indirectly and some times more directly it is involved in political decisions or at least private decisions to serve some political interest.” Paul told those gathered at the hearing.
Along with Paul, Republicans in attendance argued that the audit should pave the way for regular reviews of the Fed’s policies, as well as more complete disclosure of exactly who has received upwards of $27 trillion in bail out funds since 2008.
“Would it be much of a problem if we were doing this every year?” Paul asked.
Robert Auerbach, Professor of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, backed Paul up by putting the case that regular and ongoing audits would not affect the Fed’s independence in any major way.
“The Fed’s mythical flag of independence from politics, a favorite Fed mantra to avoid individual responsibility, is merely a shield intended to protect the institution from being forced to act in a more transparent fashion,” Auerbach testified.
Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, Republican of Missouri, expressed concern that although the GAO’s audit authority is now expired, some banks and firms that “borrowed” from the Fed, and by extension the American taxpaying public, as part of the Bear Sterns and AIG relief packages, have yet to pay back the funds.
Luetkemeyer also noted that the one time GAO audit was extremely limited in its scope.
Nevertheless, the Invalid Link Removed found several instances of conflicts of interest and questionable practices involving Fed officials.
It was also revealed that the Fed made Invalid Link Removed to Wall Street firms at the height of the crisis.

“We have too much spending and too much debt, so they’re trying to solve the problem with more debt. There’s not a chance that we can get out of the recession this way.” Paul told host Judge Andrew Napolitano.
“The people here don’t want to change because they have been conditioned by Keynesian economics. Where I’m encouraged is that people outside this place are getting the message. The answers are well known but how do you translate this new message that we have of free markets and the constitution, and get the people that are managing the affairs now out of office?” the Congressman stated.
Paul added that as president he would implement some immediate measures that would cut the deficit and reduce spending in a meaningful way.
“Immediately you could bring all our troops home and have them spend money here at home, that would give us some reprieve. We could change our foreign policy and indicate to the world that we are going to get our budget under control.” Paul said.
“We could remove taxation on all the money that is held overseas by our corporations and not double tax them. We could remove the interest paid by the Federal Reserve to the banks. The banks won’t invest their money because it’s too risky, but the Federal Reserve gives them their money, essentially, for free, and then they invest it back into Treasury bills, so they help monetize the debt too.”
“Those are a few things, but sending a signal will be most important, ‘we’re going to quit this spending’. Right now I’m working on a plan where in one year I want to cut a trillion dollars.” Paul revealed.
“The appetite for big government is the problem. The taxes and the Federal Reserve inflating, that is the symptom, and the budget problem is a symptom of the appetite for big government.” Paul continued.
“Too often the leadership is only in the business of preserving power… It’s a shame that despite all this arguing and bickering going on between the two parties, there is no difference. Regardless of which party it is they still don’t change the definition of entitlements, they don’t change the foreign policy and they don’t go after the Fed.”
The Congressman also reiterated comments he made earlier in the week regarding the unconstitutional killing in Yemen of the American born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.

Reporter: It’s not too long ago the dollar was as good as Invalid Link Removed. In fact, dollar bills were labeled gold certificates, so just imagine if the dollar was as good as gold once again. If confidence is one of the failures of our financial system right now, would a gold standard restore the faith and confidence and allow us to move on? The loudest voice in favor of dumping the faith based Invalid Link Removed System going back to the gold standard is Congressman Ron Paul; he joins us now by phone tonight. Good to hear you Congressman, thanks for coming in, appreciate it.
Ron Paul: Thank you, good to be with you.
Reporter: So, tell us what the possibility, how would we go about going back to gold standard?
Ron Paul: Well we have some pretty good history to look at; we can look at our own history. We went off the gold standard during the civil war period, and the gold price soared, a couple hundred dollars, from twenty dollars. We lived in a different time then, in the 1970s they passed a Resumption Act and they had a three year period and a lot of part 1870s, and there was a transition. They quit printing greenbacks, they withdrew some greenbacks, they balanced the budget and we weren’t running a welfare-warfare state. And the people, believe it or not, trusted their government and it was a non-event and three years the dollar was as good as gold at twenty dollars an ounce. England, after World War I, tried to do the same thing, but they had too many pounds circulating. They went back to an old price and they didn’t withdraw any pounds so it didn’t work, and now we have a bigger problem. The transition would be pretty tough, not written and talked a lot about this and you’d have to device a system where there would be a transition where maybe you could have a gold standard competing with a paper standard and then obviously gold would win out.
Reporter: Well sure.
Ron Paul: People would eventually go to gold because the paper, we’re getting down to the bottom right now. The last thing before they really rushed to gold is the Treasury bill.
Reporter: And that’s about popped hasn’t it the dues on that?
Ron Paul: Look at what the rates have done just recently so if money quits flowing in there or what if a few foreigners decide to dump some of that stuff then the panic is uncontrollable. Then you’re going to see gold instead of being pressed twenty dollars a day, it might be a hundred dollars or two hundred dollars a day, I believe that is conceivable.
Reporter: Alright, well let’s see if we can get a close-up of what I’m holding in my hand right now. This is an old dollar, I don’t know if you can see it. Can you get any closer than this? This is a silver certificate that was issued, I guess they stopped issuing it about thirty, forty years ago something like that. But is this what you are envisioning? Where a dollar bill that does have a signature, a dollar after all is a contract. There are two signatures in there including the treasury secretary, and those signatures mean this is a contract that a year from now the money that you earn should be worth about as much, and if not, if you have any doubt about this you can trade it in and you can see up on top there it says, “Silver certificate for gold or silver.” Is this what you want again?
Ron Paul: To some degree, but there’s been a lot of writings about how you might do this in the private market and not have a government monopoly, because we did have shortcomings in our gold standard because we have bimetalism and we have artificial prices fixed between gold and silver. You don’t want that, you’d have to be on a gold standard or a silver standard, but you could. Hayek has written about baskets of currencies and having this work in the private market. A competing currency could be private but, yes, eventually what you’d want to do, a lot of people say, “Oh we don’t want no gold, we can’t carry all that gold around in our pockets.
Reporter: Right.
Ron Paul: No, I think your point that you’re making is right. You’re still going to have certificates or you’re going to have electronic entries. There are people today who are trying to promote this idea through electronic gold, but the problem is the legal tender laws force us to use dollars in all settlements, so one of my goals in Washington to move in that direction would be to repeal legal tender laws. Reporter: It’s not too long ago the dollar was as good as Invalid Link Removed. In fact, dollar bills were labeled gold certificates, so just imagine if the dollar was as good as gold once again. If confidence is one of the failures of our financial system right now, would a gold standard restore the faith and confidence and allow us to move on? Good to hear you Congressman, thanks for coming in, appreciate it.
Ron Paul: Thank you, good to be with you.
Reporter: So, tell us what the possibility, how would we go about going back to gold standard?
Ron Paul: Well we have some pretty good history to look at; we can look at our own history. We went off the gold standard during the civil war period, and the gold price soared, a couple hundred dollars, from twenty dollars. We lived in a different time then, in the 1970s they passed a Resumption Act and they had a three year period and a lot of part 1870s, and there was a transition. They quit printing greenbacks, they withdrew some greenbacks, they balanced the budget and we weren’t running a welfare-warfare state. And the people, believe it or not, trusted their government and it was a non-event and three years the dollar was as good as gold at twenty dollars an ounce. England, after World War I, tried to do the same thing, but they had too many pounds circulating. They went back to an old price and they didn’t withdraw any pounds so it didn’t work, and now we have a bigger problem. The transition would be pretty tough, not written and talked a lot about this and you’d have to device a system where there would be a transition where maybe you could have a gold standard competing with a paper standard and then obviously gold would win out.
Reporter: Well sure.
Ron Paul: People would eventually go to gold because the paper, we’re getting down to the bottom right now. The last thing before they really rushed to gold is the Treasury bill.
Reporter: And that’s about popped hasn’t it the dues on that?
Ron Paul: Look at what the rates have done just recently so if money quits flowing in there or what if a few foreigners decide to dump some of that stuff then the panic is uncontrollable. Then you’re going to see gold instead of being pressed twenty dollars a day, it might be a hundred dollars or two hundred dollars a day, I believe that is conceivable.
Reporter: Alright, well let’s see if we can get a close-up of what I’m holding in my hand right now. This is an old dollar, I don’t know if you can see it. Can you get any closer than this? This is a silver certificate that was issued, I guess they stopped issuing it about thirty, forty years ago something like that. But is this what you are envisioning? Where a dollar bill that does have a signature, a dollar after all is a contract. There are two signatures in there including the treasury secretary, and those signatures mean this is a contract that a year from now the money that you earn should be worth about as much, and if not, if you have any doubt about this you can trade it in and you can see up on top there it says, “Silver certificate for gold or silver.” Is this what you want again?
Ron Paul: To some degree, but there’s been a lot of writings about how you might do this in the private market and not have a government monopoly, because we did have shortcomings in our gold standard because we have bimetalism and we have artificial prices fixed between gold and silver. You don’t want that, you’d have to be on a gold standard or a silver standard, but you could. Hayek has written about baskets of currencies and having this work in the private market. A competing currency could be private but, yes, eventually what you’d want to do, a lot of people say, “Oh we don’t want no gold, we can’t carry all that gold around in our pockets.

Ron Paul: No, I think your point that you’re making is right. You’re still going to have certificates or you’re going to have electronic entries. At a recent luncheon at the National Press Club, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul warned journalists that they could be placed on a “kill list” should the government deem them a threat to national security.
Invalid Link Removed reported that the Texas congressman encouraged journalists and citizens alike to condemn the President’s actions, lest they find themselves placed on the list for their own views.
“Can you imagine being put on a list because you’re a threat?” an exasperated Paul asked. “What’s going to happen when they come to the media? What if the media becomes a threat? … This is the way this works. It’s incrementalism.”
His statements come in the aftermath of the assassination of Anwar al-Awlaki, an American citizen killed by a CIA drone in Yemen last month.
Decisions about whom to place on the “kill list” are reportedly made by secret panel of federal government officials whose deliberations are withheld from public view.
“There is no public record of the operations or decisions of the panel, which is a subset of the White House’s National Security Council, several current and former officials said,” Invalid Link Removed reported Thursday. ”Neither is there any law establishing its existence or setting out the rules by which it is supposed to operate.”
The role of the president in the process is unclear, although he is informed of the panel’s decisions.
Rep. Paul is not the only critic of the government’s actions.
In a statement last week, ACLU legal director Jameel Jaffer condemned the administration for what he called “a program under which American citizens far from any battlefield can be executed by their own government without judicial process, and on the basis of standards and evidence that are kept secret not just from the public but from the courts.”

“I saw him before boarding and he never said anything, I’ve seen him in court several times, and I even saw him when he lit his fake bomb and his crotch was burning and he never makes a peep. During his interview on the Alex Jones Show today, Haskell pointed out that if Abdulmutallab chooses to reveal what he knows about the entire plot, it could be more damaging to the Obama administration than the Fast and Furious scandal, and would undermine the entire foundation of the war on terror and the TSA grope downs and body scans that were introduced in the aftermath of the event.
Abdulmutallab could reveal which intelligence agents gave him the dud bomb, while also lifting the lid on the role of Anwar al-Awlaki, Invalid Link Removed was clearly a double agent posing as an Al-Qaeda leader while doing the bidding of the US intelligence community.
Aware that his involvement in the case and his assertions of government complicity in the aborted attack could put his life in danger, Haskell made it clear on air that he was not planning on committing suicide.

According to the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution, Americans are never to be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law. The Constitution is not some aspirational statement of values, allowing exceptions when convenient, but rather, it is the law of the land. It is the basis of our Republic and our principal bulwark against tyranny.
Last week’s assassination of two American citizens, Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan, is an outrage and a criminal act carried out by the President and his administration. If the law protecting us against government-sanctioned assassination can be voided when there is a “really bad American”, is there any meaning left to the rule of law in the United States? If, as we learned last week, a secret government committee, not subject to congressional oversight or judicial review, can now target certain Americans for assassination, under what moral authority do we presume to lecture the rest of the world about protecting human rights? Didn’t we just bomb Libya into oblivion under the auspices of protecting the civilians from being targeted by their government? Timothy McVeigh was certainly a threat, as were Nidal Hassan and Jared Lee Loughner. They killed people in front of many witnesses. They took up arms against their government in a literal way, yet were still afforded trials. These constitutional protections are in place because our Founders realized it is a very serious matter to deprive any individual of life or liberty. Our outrage against even the obviously guilty is not worth the sacrifice of the rule of law. Al-Awlaki has been outspoken against the United States and we are told he encouraged violence against Americans. We do not know that he actually committed any acts of violence. Ironically, he was once invited to the Pentagon as part of an outreach to moderate Muslims after 9/11. As the US attacks against Muslims in the Middle East and Central Asia expanded, it is said that he became more fervent and radical in his opposition to US foreign policy.
Many cheer this killing because they believe that in a time of war, due process is not necessary – not even for citizens, and especially not for those overseas. However, there has been no formal declaration of war and certainly not one against Yemen. The post-9/11 authorization for force would not have covered these two Americans because no one is claiming they had any connection to that attack. Al-Awlaki was on a kill list compiled by a secret panel within President Obama’s National Security Council and Justice Department. How many more Americans citizens are on that list? They won’t tell us. What are the criteria? They won’t tell us. Where is the evidence? They won’t tell us.
Al-Awlaki’s father tried desperately to get the administration to at least allow his son to have legal representation to challenge the “kill” order. He was denied. Rather than give him his day in court, the administration, behind closed doors, served as prosecutor, judge, jury, and executioner.The most worrisome aspect of this is that any new powers this administration accrues will serve as precedents for future administrations. Even those who completely trust this administration must understand that if this usurpation of power and denial of due process is allowed to stand, these powers will remain to be expanded on by the next administration and then the next. Will you trust them? History shows that once a population gives up its rights, they are not easily won back. Beware.

Ive watched a bunch of his shows, but not because Im following him. He gets places and twists and distorts them. He attacks the 911 truth movement, and those who expose Obama's blatant birth cover up...but the additional places he is getting at I am not a fan of his. I dislike everyone on Fox except for Judge Napolitono and Lou Dobbs is ok, but unsure about him at this point. Liberal media is quite dangerous as well, such as Current TV (Al Gore's channel), MSNBC w/ Rachel Maddow and the rest of the bunch...CNN is also disgusting.

Establishment favorite and former Federal Reserve insider Herman Cain brazenly lied during last night’s Republican debate when he denied that he had opposed an audit of the Fed, a claim that was proven false within hours by Ron Paul’s campaign team.
Pointing out that the majority of Americans want to see a full audit of the Federal Reserve, Congressman Ron Paul asked Cain if he stood by his position that it would be frivolous to audit the Fed on a regular basis, as well as his characterization of those who are calling for such measures as ignorant.
Cain responded by claiming he never dismissed Ron Paul or his supporters as “ignorant” for asking about the Federal Reserve, and that the error was down to Paul believing what he read on the Internet. Technically Cain is correct, because he didn’t call Ron Paul supporters “ignorant,” worse still, Invalid Link Removed and ludicrously suggested that the Paul campaign was deliberately sending out supporters to harass Cain with questions about the Federal Reserve.
Cain brazenly lied in the next breath when he claimed, “I do not object to the Federal Reserve being audited, I simply said if someone wants to initiate that action go right ahead, it doesn’t bother me,” adding that he had been “misrepresented” and didn’t have a problem with the Fed being audited, before robotically repeating his “9,9,9″ tax hike agenda.
Within hours, the Paul campaign responded by pointing out precisely where Cain had expressed his opposition to auditing the Fed, with the aid of the very same Internet that Cain derided as an inaccurate source of information.
Unfortunately for the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO, the world wide web turned out to be very accurate in documenting Cain’s deception.

Cain seemed like a complete tool last night. His 999 plan sounds pretty damn useless and he keeps talking about how "bold" it, and therefore he, is. Give me a break. I didn't realize he was outright lying there, but he seem generally insincere the entire time.
Perry seemed to think that if he is elected president that he will make jobs magically appear out of the earth just like in Texas. Too bad the rest of the country doesn't have the natural resources (oil/gas) that Texas does.
Romney seems to want to conquer the world? He wants to make America the strongest country in the world... with the strongest military. Guess we don't need to elect him since we already have the strongest military in the world.
Bachmann was babbling about broken hearts and adopting children. Whatever.
Most of the candidate seem to think they're grand master wizards who can make jobs appear out of nowhere, despite our educational system producing unskilled workers. Maybe if our children are better educated and college becomes more affordable then we would have a more competitive workforce, thus a more prosperous economy. But maybe that's too much work; we can just elect one of these wizards instead. Sorry, but a little tax tweak here or there is not going to fix our economy.
They were also pretty good at bashing democrats and placing all the blame on them. Fortunately Ron Paul was there to tell them that the republicans have been screwing up the economy before O'Bama came along.
Anyway, I just don't get how people buy into the garbage most of the candidates are trying to feed us. I didn't see the whole debate, but those are just my thoughts on what I saw.

Cain looked lost, which was expected now that he is a front runner. People were on the attack from him. I did like the Fed comments when he wanted Greenspan and Paul's head looked like it was about to explode.
They are all terrible up there, however barring something unforeseen, Romney will be the nominee.

Republican Strategist Jack Burkman told Fox Business host Judge Andrew Napolitano that “Ron Paul could win the GOP nomination,” given the fact that Perry and Romney’s campaigns have started to crumble whereas Herman Cain has no real political experience.
“I can see Ron Paul catching on….if you look at the whole range of issues and if you look at who else is out there, there aren’t a lot of choices,” said Burkman.
Adding that Ron Paul tied together a lot of concerns shared by social conservatives, Burkman stated, “I’m going to make a bold prediction – Ron Paul could win the GOP nomination. A lot of people are going to think that’s fanciful, let’s take a look at it, Perry is starting to stumble, Bachmann and Gingrich probably already out, Romney the frontrunner….it’s impossible for him to win, he can’t get through the South on Super Tuesday, question becomes who’s left.”
Burkman added that Herman Cain, although surging in polls at present, had “no real political experience” and that his campaign would eventually go nowhere.
“I could easily see Paul surging,” concluded Burkman.
Burkman can hardly be dismissed as a Paulite cheerleader, indeed he is one of the few mainstream media talking heads who dares to admit that Ron Paul has a chance of success.
Burkman is a Washington DC-based political consultant and regularly appears on mainstream networks, including Fox News, ABC News, MSNBC and CNN.
