Time to MonteGROW like a Finaflex Freak!

What I've found to be the case with myself and my training partners is that knee pain manifests itself when the knees come forward in the squat. Any time the knees come forward, there are tremendous shear forces on the knee joint. To help with the knee pain, you're going to want to keep as vertical of shins as possible. We accomplish this by, as has been said, forcing the knees out.

A simple "knees out" cue often doesn't do the trick, though. What works for me is "screw your feet into the floor". For others, it's "spread the floor". And sitting back a little more will also help you to both stay on your heels AND keep a little more vertical shin. Your quad involvement will be lessened to some degree, but that'll ramp back up as your depth increases and the weight moved goes up.

As you're not looking to compete in powerlifting anytime soon (I think?), there's no real need to push depth, just take what you get. You might be humbled at first if your hips can't take the load, but I've found that the hips increase in strength very rapidly, so you'll soon be moving much more weight than before.

I second everything here. Especially about the hips getting used to the weight quickly. Tough at first, but you'll get the weight back fast.

And I squat/pull in chucks. Changed my life.

Gonna grab some chucks this week. They are so ugly though....gotta find some smooth ones :P

All black chucks? My brother has them, I think they're sweet. Custom chucks, too. Saw a sick pair a dude had that were all black with a white stylized American flag decal on the side, superman chucks, Animal Pak chucks (those might only be for sponsored athletes). There's sweetness to be had out there, relatively speaking. Lol.

Looking at some All Star Swag Hi's black and neon green.

I picked up some of those not so attractive Reebok Nano's that are the rage in crossfit. Reebok store had a crazy nice sale or I would not have purchased them. They are flat and maybe don't look so wack like chucks?

Have you worn them yet? If so, what do you think?

Yes I have worn them a few times. My feet are somewhat flat anyway so besides how they look, they are quality for leg day. Squats and Presses felt much better than what I was using before (Nike Free). The material makes them very flexible also around the top of the foot and ankle. I can't really see why someone would complain about them other than their somewhat ridiculous colors.

Yeah.

you look pretty geeked out in that last shot - stim much?

on rear lat spread, lift arms upward a bit more, not so much where it looks like you are carrying luggage tho
if you are going for the other pose, place hands in that bottleneck portion of your figure, press inward as you push lats outward

Nice set of traps....jealous bro

Oh how I've missed those puppy dog eyes lol

Yeah, & notice the soles are very similar to chucks - which is the whole reason they're favored, & prob why the Supras work so well for you.

Flat, solid, doesn't flex when you spread the floor with your feet or threaten to roll the cloth over the sole (this happened once in some breathable Pumas I had with 90+% on my back; almost crapped my pants & lost the bar), & thin.

Slippers/socks or Vibrams would obviously be the absolute best thing to pull with for power besides barefoot, but Chucks are cheap & about as low as they get while still being a real shoe.

Back & traps looking sick btw Monty - even if you have puppy dog eyes like a kidnapper

I prefer the term "surprise adoption"

Totally agree, the only reason I got these was the material is very sturdy. I've dropped hookah coals on these for like a minute before I realized and nothing happened to them 0.o

Not really worth triple the mark up if I were recommending to other gym goers however

Thanks guys. Might get the hair off next time it's picture updates so we can judge the cuts better.

It's a skill he has developed. It gives them that false sense of security..

Thinking we are all going to hell... hmmmm do they have ph's in hell?

No ph's in Hell. Just MuscleTech supps.

Nice work and man you look freakin awesome! Cuts are coming in very nicely and size is bountiful everywhere.

Ok guys just cracked open the G8.

Initial impressions -
Very fine powder with a huge moisture pack.
It's now a yellow color instead of green as well.

Mixed with about eight ounces of water.

Slight foaming on top and a couple floaters on the bottom that went away after the second shake. Has a white color now too.

Taste......

Leaps and bounds better! Tastes like a sweet Country Time Lemonade. Very very impressive that our guys covered the phenibut that well.

Gonna enjoy this night of sleep!

I'm really needed this stuff. Woke up 3 time last night and only slept 5 hours anyways

Everywhere except the testes lol
no sir - his testes are quite cut-up too, crazy looking things they are

monte - you nailed the G8 review to a T bro
taste is wonderful! I am really impressed myself, never figured they could cover the taste up that well with such a light and non-overbearing flavor

FINAFLEX, once again:

Alright guys weekly progress pics I snapped this morning after having an awesome nights sleep. This is right out of bed. No water or food yet. 215.3lbs

Still a long way to go. Legs have came up quite a bit but still need a lot of work. I'll be remedying this by adding an extra day of legs into my GVT training.

My hips are fking big so as per my guiding light :) I'm gonna have to come in ultra nasty shredded cheddar when I get on stage. Will also be adding some extra exercises on back WIDTH day to taper into those hips better.

Went back to heavy weighted ab work this last week and for a long time to come, hoping maybe the skin will fill up.

Cardio still staying the same for now. Probably going to up frequency and length I'm another week.

I'm having a hard time (yes I said hard) making an accurate critique of those hips you're talking about. Can you maybe pull them shorts down juuuust a bit more in your next pics? Or just don't wear them... I'm fine with that.

Legs looking pretty big still with such a low bodyfat. Not saying they couldn't be bigger (who couldn't use a tad more mass?), but pay attention to your recovery extra close w/ 2 leg days per wk on GVT - never stuck with the program, but I do know that people really caution extra work on it. Tvar should make a big difference; I'm just saying to be smart.

You thinking 2 GVT leg days or the prescribed one & then purely a target ancillary one for specific work?

Gonna be a FST7 style 2nd day. Heavier weights with a tad less volume and rest.

Lunges, SLDL, Extensions and Leg press probably.

I'm definitely watching the recovery time on legs when I start using the extra day of course. Should always be at least four days removed from the last leg day if all goes according to plan.

Sounds like you've got an excellent plan. And the new G8 tastes incredible.....so excited again for tonight!

Oh the taste is off the hook! The Flavor Guy hit a home run lol.

I agree the flavor was insane... Makes me wonder how so much taste gets in that little scoop.
