Thoughts on colostrum?

I purchased some colostrum powder a while back and have only taken it occasionally. I was hoping it would help me in recovering from long COVID.

I forgot I even had it till i was looking at supplements at a GNC and I saw Isotori's Bio-Gro. It seems like a glorified colostrum supplement. It got me thinking about taking the stuff again.

What would be the best time while training? Pre or post. I have a bunch of the stuff so would 2grams post workout be a good move?

Any info or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don’t think timing matters but 2 grams isn’t gonna do much. What brand do you have and what’s the profile like?

I saw a documentary on Netflix about this bodybuilder who paid women to get their breast milk to get colostrum. He swears it made an incredible difference in his health and recovery from training. But the whole process of getting it is kinda seedy...

Lol. There's a dude on another forum who joined a breastfeeding mothers group where they donate milk to woman with lactation issues. He pretended he was a woman and got them to give him extra milk. He claimed it helped heal his IBS. Weird story that I remembered reading your post.

What do I think of Colustrum? I think Regular 87 Gasoline is $4.49 per gallon where I live.

🤣
What do you think the colostrum is for? Fuel for our next form of transportation when we cant afford gas anymore.

What do you think money is for? To support snake oil supplement salesmen in the middle of record inflation/plandemic/WWIII?

I just finished up 30 days of armra and can say that it was a waste of money. The Sovereign Labs product is considerably better and I really wish I had paid attention to the dose of armra which is so low that you basically need to run through a months supply in a week to get anywhere near the amount that has been researched for all the benefits.

Hard pass.

I got the cheap stuff from Iherb.

Been taking 5 grams a day for the last few days. Don't notice anything but I'll run it till I'm done and decide if it's worth buying again.

I doubt this is a case of 'all colostrum is the same'. I wouldn't use the cheap stuff.

It's pretty astounding the benefits for gut health, immunity, and recovery. Here are some studies if you didn't find them, but most studies are done with 3-5g for these benefits. For other health benefits it has varied, but doesn't mean it's conclusive.

The dosage can vary depending on what your health concerns are and the benefits you’re seeking. In the published studies, the following doses were used:
  • 60 g/day of concentrated bovine colostrum protein for 8 weeks for upper respiratory tract infection [Invalid Link Removed].
  • 10 g/ day of concentrated bovine colostrum protein for 5 weeks for reducing post-exercise immune suppression [Invalid Link Removed].
  • 500 mg 2X/day of bovine colostrum for 20 days for leaky gut [Invalid Link Removed+].
  • 20 g/day of bovine colostrum powder for 8 weeks to increase lean body mass (along with resistance training) [Invalid Link Removed].
  • 20 – 60 g/day of the powder for 8 weeks for enhancing athletic performance [Invalid Link Removed,Invalid Link Removed].
  • 10g/day (split into two 5g doses) for 4 weeks for lowering blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes [Invalid Link Removed].

I just ordered Ambrosia over training solution. Not for the immune effects, just price VS quantity and alleged quality. I'm curious.

I almost bought mikra cellf, but that's for another day.
