Learning from the master.
lol@ the chicken finger video. That guy is so funny-mclovin
You could always cut down on the skating or cardio. Thats what I do I mean ill do cardio when I feel like it, many days I am worn out from lifting and want to do other things than go to the gym. Come pre contest time or really dedicated to losing a good amount of body-fat of course. I stay pretty lean year round now a days verses a couple years ago I did not and learned the hard way so by staying lean I feel better about not doing cardio in the offseason.
Wow just read from 20 to here great work. Lots of volume are the fascia stretches from DC, or is it something else from HST-7 or something if you have alrewady covered this I apologize. If from a certain workout just give me a name and I weill find video demonstrations. I am familiar with the DC stretches.
Calories were a little higher today but compensated by doing some more skating. LANDED A 360 FLIP!! But fell right after i landed. Still just the accomplishment of figuring out how to flip the board is satisfying enough. Feeling exhausted right now so off to bed.

How's this...
3 years ago, I can still do it, I just won't try it unless I am like 220Lbs or lighter, don't want to get injured!
AL, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU TRIED THE CARNIVORE PIZZA CHALLENGE! Now i'm more jealous i want to do a food challenge sooo bad.
Yep, I tried, keyword... "TRIED" my partner and I both failed miserably! I mean there are 8 slices of pizza, each slice is pretty much the same as a Large Papa John's Meatlover Pizza, anyway, I ate 3 of my 4 slices and my partner at 2.5 of his 4 slices, I maybe could have eaten 3.5 slices Max and my partner said he could have eaten 3 slices, so we still would have been 1.5 slices short, so when we were half-way through and he was at 3 slices and he was at 2.5 slices, that is when I asked him if he was going to be able to eat his 4 and he said NO, so I just called it quits there as to not make myself sick and still lose! It was very hard, more than the volume of food, it was the amount of sodium, I mean the 1st slice was heaven, but after that, all I could taste was salty ham, seriously, it was like ham, ham, & more ham! We did the math and every 4 slices is the equivalent of a normal size salt shaker worth of sodium!!!
Al, did you take gymnastics at some point or was that self taught? I can still do back handsprings, & front handsprings, I may still be able to do a round off into a back flip but haven't tried. I did a back handspring at the beach the other day and my daughter and niece were all OOOOOO AHHHHH!
I used to also be able to do a full front flip with a running start but haven't tried that in forever either. I can probably still do an aerial too, have been a while. I did one a few times in 09 but the last time I under rotated and landed on my heel it was bruised for weeks.
I can't tell you how many times I landed on my head, neck and shoulders teaching myself teaching gymnastics. Insert intelligence or so that's what happened joke here...
I wanted to be a gymnast so bad when I was younger. I admired the control of the body they had and the physiques were all amazing! Your flip looks very clean I never did get the tuck part right, I just got to where I could do it in an almost straight legged position the sheer determination, strength and explosiveness.
Tiny, congrats on that 360 that is awesome. I skated but never ramp skated. We did speed skating down the mountain roads in W.Va. Lost of ollies, slides, jumps for distance, 2 wheels for distance, and of course downhill racing we all had speed bearings on our boards. I ripped all the skin of the left front side of my body in an epic wipe out one time. Hit a pebble going down a hill and shot me off the skateboard at the top of a dip in the hill so I was a good 10 feet in the air at an estimate 40 MPH landed well from where the skin trail started on the pavement about 15-20 yards down the street slid another 10 feet then started flipping and rolling, went off the side of the street at a turn on the mountain and rolled down the embankment through the woods for another 15-20 yards. Friggin pebble only slid about a foot left a scratch in the pavement. I stood up an everything was a pinkish hue. I toss my hands in the air like I just won and award for the ultimate wipeout. Climbed back up the hill with blood in my eye the left half of my shirt gone, no skin from my forehead to my jawbone, then from my shoulder basically all the way to my toes even ripped my shoe off my foot.
I hop back on the skate board and skate home, where my father was there for a surprise visit. He was the one that bought me the tricked out skateboard and the speed bearing which my mother was fully opposed too. I walk in looking like I had been dragged down the street by a team of horse, bleeding and oozing body fluids everywhere. They both freak out, then my mom who is a nurse tells me get in the shower. She came at me with a pumice stone to get all the dirt, rocks and debris from the woods out of the wounds. Holy Hell! I was wishing I was reliving the accident over and over instead of being shredded by that pumice stone. To there amazement I was trying to go back out and ride my skateboard a few days later. Oh to be as resilient as I was back then.

OK, I did take gymnastics when I was about 12 for a few months, but I was just too big and they really didn't spend enough time with me, I too, like you really wanted to learn and be good at gymnastics, I am self-taught, but I owned a trampoline since I was 10yrs old and my Dad taught me all I needed to know on the trampoline, then when I finally started to become more muscle than fat in college and would get lean from time to time, etc, I would actually try certain things on the ground and to be honest, it wasn't that hard! I landed my back-flip perfectly the very first time I tried it on the ground, but had done thousands upon thousands of back-flips on the trampoline.
Now skateboarding, when I was about 13yrs old, my neighbors built a pretty nice half-pipe in the lot between our houses and I got pretty good, but really was only good enough to go up and down and turn around, never any areals or anything significant, nor was I ever any good or interested in street stuff. I did get a Haro-Sport freestyle bike and got ok at it on ground stuff, was always too afraid to try anything on the half-pipe, but I was able to do a boomerang, tail-whip, I could ride in circles with my front wheel spinning, I could do endo's and bounce on the front or back pegs, etc, but still nothing amazing!
Anyway, that is about the extent of my short-lived X-Games career, LoL!
My Dad got in an argument with me about that the other day. No they need helmets... I was like is he doing freestyle or high speed road racing onhis bike in a large pack? Otherwise no he doesn't. Don't by into the pussification of America dad. Crossing the street is just as dangerous are you gonna make them wear helmets then too? I guess you don't think they should keep score at the games? Can't let little Johnny find out all people are not created equal. That other people WILL be better than him at things. Motivate him through the pain of loss to earn the win? No we can't let them feel disappointment until they get older and it really counts so they can commit suicide over a minor set back in life. Don't let little Johnny ever learn how to protect himself with his fists. We have to make sure he will pick up a gun when he has had enough. Sorry, just thinking about what the country is coming too. When I chose to put myself in harms way for fun and now the slighted hint of danger requires a new law or safety warning. Having an opinion is outlawed because someone else may feel different or heaven forbid have an intelligent debate with someone regarding politics, religion or racial tensions. No it is best we ignore that, if we give it a polite sounding name it will all be better. If Johnny is angry he han anger disorder. If he is competitive he has an aggression disorder. If he doesn't show respect to his parents he has Anti-Authority disorder. Maybe he just needs an occasion swift kick in the arse or a swat on the but from a teacher when he gets mouthy or disrespectful... maybe if you taught them consequenses from a young age they would be easier to handle when they get older... You wouldn't go into the jungle and grab an 3 year old wild tiger and try to put his ass in the circus would you. Same premise there... Okay end of rant sorry....
My friends has a ramp. My parents WERE NEVER involved in anything I did. As I got older I tried to stay away from the house, was the typical dysfuntional welfare home with absent parents and tons of verbal and some physical abuse tossed in for good measure. So I avoided the house like the plague...
As far as bikes go for me was BMX style riding. We had the mountains to ride in and down. I took my sisters bike when i was 5 and walked up the street with it and just kept trying to ride it until I got it right. Fell down got back up ran jumped on fell, got back up ran jumped on tried to ride slammed into a parked car. Start all over. I taught myself all in 1 afternoon. Never experienced a training wheel or anything. I still remember my Moms face when i came riding down the street on this bike that was bigger than I was tall and then just jumped off and rolled into the yard because I hadn't figured out brakes yet. There was a dump nearby and from then up until I was 10 I never had my own bike. I went to the dump and found a frame, wheels, pedals and built Frankenstien bikes from old peoples junk. Some with banana seats and ez rider handle bars. Never had a freestyle bike that could spin the handlebars. I remember getting MY first new bike, was called something Rider, it had a banana seat U Handle Bars with tassels, a frame the color of a shiny new penny, and the coolest thing ever, a wide flat slick tire like on a drag car. I think I was 10 years old then. I did end up getting a real BMX bike from my Dad when I was 12 man I rode the heck out of that thing!!!
I was always a daredevil though, started jumping off the roof of the house when I was 7, always made ramps for sledding and put them where we could catch the most air. Often hurting myself beyond stupidity and jumping up like Rocky finishing running up the stairs. Once we stacked 6 car tires up in the middle of the street and leaned a piece of plywood against it, I proceeded to go to the top of one of the hills about a quarter mile up and ride down as fast as I could to see how high and far it would make me jump. Little did I know how flexible the wood was and when I hit that ramp not only did it knock the tires over but it sprung me almost straight up into the air and I came down front tire first in a nose dive, my handlebars stripped from the impact the wheel collaped and spokes broke and I was bodyslammed head and shoulders first into the asphalt. I got up and was mad that I was hurt so in my brilliance I pick up my broken bike over my head and throw it straight down as hard as I could. The pedal hit square on my big toenail right through my bright yellow chucks, wich suddenly became red with blood. When i got my shoe off the nail was stuck in my sock, all of it. I actually hurt myself more in my temper tantrum than being slammed into the concrete. Funny I can go on and on and on about crazy things like this I did as a kid. ALL WITHOUT A HELMET!!!! Now you can get a ticket for riding without a helmet. WTF?!?!?!?!?

That is perfect! I like it.As always Kleen, we are completely on the same page, I really like your Tiger in the Circus analogy, totally makes sense! I know this is off subject, but an analogy I always made when people would find out I'm a Chiropractor and tell me they didn't want to get adjusted if they could help it, because once you start going you can't ever stop going and I just tell them that I agree with them and that is why I never change my oil in my car, because if I start changing the oil I can't ever stop! They just look at me like I'm crazy and I say it's the same concept, changing the oil in a car is (maintenance), well getting your spine adjusted from time to time is no different, prevents further wear & tear down the road!
It's cool man, i was afraid of falling when i first started skating which was around 10 or so. I didn't wear a helmet either only time i had to was at the skatepark because the owners enforced it too. Sounds like you had a lot more adventurous childhood than i did that's for sure haha
That is perfect! I like it.
Yeah I sure was ridiculously adventurous, not much scared me then. Now I have kids and the only things that scare me is the thought of not being here for them or being able to provide for them. Stops me from my typical stupidity... MOST of the time. LOL

I'm jealous, i tried learning a backflip some time ago into a pool and barely touched my head to the edge which freaked me out. Haven't tried it sinceThat's so awesome though i'd love to bust out one of those on a stage for a posing routine haha.
No offense and I don't mean any negativity by this Tiny, but Kleen and I are a little older than you and the rules back when we were kids were very different from the rules you experienced (different generation), believe me! When Kleen & I were kids they didn't have shoulder seat belts, only lap belts in the front and back of cars and trucks, every kid our age would choose to ride in the back of the truck vs. in the front with his parent or parents. Seat beltable child seats and baby carriers did not exist. Riding your bike 10 miles from home to go somewhere when you are only 8+yrs old was not really a big deal, leaving at dawn and returning at dusk to rat the streets and play throughout the neighborhood was the norm, you played outside not inside, Atari was the only thing around, then Nintendo came out when we were in high school, cell phones didn't exist, everyone had a land line, you memorized all your important phone numbers, if you had a computer it was a Commodore 64 as in it had 64 kB of memory and there was no internet, there were no such thing as reality shows, MTV did exist, but it followed what it was named for Music Television as in that is all they did all day long is play music videos, not Rob Dedrick's Fun House, or Bully Beatdown, which I Love both of those shows by the way, anyway, that is a little window into the world that Chris and I grew up in!
Hey, I'll tell you guys what I'll do, after I get lean enough whether it be right before or after Halloween, I will make current video of me doing a back flip and post it for you guys!
No offense taken! I should have been born in the 50's that way i would be training with all the greats! I hate hearing how it used to be because it makes me feel like life now is really boring (and it mostly is) Riding a bike 10miles would be awesome that all sounds so much more adventurous. I don't even want to know what it's gonna be like in another 10-20 years. My mom is the same exact way she hates how society is becoming and how kept to our selves and isolated we're all becoming.![]()
I'll tell you what, I am glad I grew up when I did, because I just look at how protective we are, as in parents rarely even let their kids walk down the street or around the corner or ride their bikes to a friends house anymore in fear that they will be kidnapped/abducted, I even admit, I have fallen into this trap of a mindset, I won't let my daughter out of my sight hardly, I guess with the internet and how fast news travels we hear about all these awful things so much more, I mean there is more to it than that, but we also live in a totally different society than we used to!
I wish they would re-institute the draft. You don't have at least a 3.0 GPA and plans for college and a career you serve 4 years in the Military. To learn how to do something, make something, or to apply yourself so you can go to college. Start making things right here in our own country, the country you now have fought for or could have if a war was going on. I bet the education system would shape the hell up then. Not so many kids would sit around doing nothing and settling for bad grades if an M16 and some Kevlar were the other option. The panty knots in society would come untied when the rich were drafted just like the poor. We need something serious going on here. Some accountability for all. Some self responsibility, and for heavens sake some work ethic!!! Businesses that go to other countries for cheaper labor should pay an extreme tax equaling the amount they would be saving not employing Americans. How can people have self worth when the pride they have is derived from the label on their shirt or jeans. Welfare system should put people to work in the same manual labor jobs they say Americans won't do the the illegals will. You want that unemployment check come dig this ditch. Criminals should be made to manufacture any consumable item needed by the government use. Make it something they don't want to do more than not wanting to work at McDonald's so they get themselves back on their feet to avoid doing government jobs for "aid."
I am all for aid , for a leg up but not for taking care of those capable of doing so themselves. I don't care what color, race or religion you are, that should be the same across the board. No income tax only sales tax. Luxury items are taxed heavier, those who buy more pay more taxes simple as that. Too many rich people hoarding money. To many poor people abusing the system. We need to be a military might because we have no friggin commerce. What are we gonna do when China wants to cash in that big ass IOU????
As for politics when did being right or left wing become more important than being functional. I wish there was a really strong independent who just wanted to fix things running instead of wanting to win for their side... Too many ideology bigots and not enough people trying to come together to solve problems. I am not the right wing, I am not the left wing, I am the body where most of us truly lie. We know neither side has it right but they are too busy trying to win instead of move forward as a nation.

Good stuff Tiny, can't wait for the new log. I have some of the Lit up coming too. Can't wait to give it a shot.
