The Wrestler - Mickey Rourke

I was surprised by his physique and was intrigued by his role and story. Looking forward to seeing it.

i've seen it and it's a great movie, very raw and almost filmed in a documentary style, mickey rourke was perfect for the role and in some ways it mirror's mickey's own life's struggle with his acting career. the rise and fall, comeback etc etc

as for his physique, Rourke, 56, when asked if he used steroids to bulk up, he told a Men's Journal magazine: "When I'm a wrestler, I behave like a wrestler."

fantastic movie IMHO, don't be fooled by it's title as it's more than just a wrestling movie!

That was exactly the impression I got from what I have seen of it thus far.

hardly ever does a movie trailer live up to it's expection, but this one does,

also a classic bruce springsteen theme song which bruce did for free as the movie budget was very limited, i think "the boss" got repaid as he won a golden globe for it and probably an oscar as well for best song
 
yes, I am also looking forward to seeing this movie,.... Im a sucker for movies with "heart" put into it, as I think these are the best type of movies.
 
For the most part, I haven't cared for the movies he's been in (neither has he, apparently) - but he's always been amazing. And never better than as Marv in Sin City.

Really looking forward to this one, myself.
 
This was an excellent film IMO. I think I enjoyed "slumdog" a little more as a film, but as far as pure acting mickey had the best performance out of any up for awards this year. Brilliant. Not to mention marissa .....DAMN.
 
Saw it yesterday. Not a great movie, but there were some very poignant scenes. Aside from the wrestling aspect, Randy's 'simpleness' and his character mannerisms and shortcomings, reminded me very much of my uncle.

IMHO Marisa Tomei is still beautiful inside and out.
