The Virile Mane Project - MC's Hair Regrowth Log (Unsponsored)

subbed.
How did I miss this?

It may be a little too late to do, but I was told that some Dr's will part the hair and measure the scalp at the part. It kinda gives you a true representaion of "filling in the scalp" as opposed to making the hair "thicker".
Know what I mean?

Me too! I was trying to be handyman around the house saturday and fix the leaky bathroom faucet. Well, I was trying to get one of the handles off and the ceramic hand piece busted in my hand and I got a nice large gash in my right palm. Had to go to the ER and get stitches. The worst part is that I lost feeling in 2 fingers! Im HOPING that the sensitivity comes back by itself and SOON. I just want to get the stitches out, put tons of gauze on it and tape my hand up so I can lift again!

Ouch! Hope the feeling comes back soon and you did no nerve damge!

Stitches are one of my worst fears. So far I have never had any...

Yeah, I am REALLY nervous I did nerve damage. I guess it could be worse, I could have done tendon damage and then would have had to do reconstructive surgery. Want me to post up a picture of the stitches! They are in the ultra sensitive spot on the inside of your hand too!

Oh, and I proooooooooomise that by Saturday night I will post updated pics!

My neighbor across the street had a brain tumor and needed sugery. Well he had the surgery they cut him from ear to ear all the way up and over. I was taking my dog out to use the bathroom and he was out in his pj's bored. I saw him heading my way and wanted to run!! I had to talk to him looking at his staples and blood crusted incision.. blech!!

Oh my god! That is terrible!!!

Oh my god! That is terrible!!!

It was gross with out a doubt. But amazingly he was home in no time and had the staples removed and went back to work in less than a month.

He said he had no pain from it and he really did not seem bothered by it. Like I said first week home he was out roaming the neighborhood bored. I told him he should be in bed!! But he wanted no part of it. I was amazed as I figured that to be a serious surgery.

Crader, any idea on how long a bottle of VM should last for someone with diffuse thinning? I dont think my bottle is going to come close to the 3 months it supposed to last.

I put on about 4 pea size globs in the morning and at night. I have to cover the entire head because of the diffuse thinning. I pretty much apply to my scalp in quarters.
For someone applying to the entire scalp, especially twice a day, I would estimate 6-8 weeks.

That sounds about right. Dsade, may I offer a suggestion? VM's consistency does not really work well for the type of bottle it is in. While it is full, it is nice that it squeezes out so nicely with that tip, however, as it nears the bottom, I know Im going to have to cut the bottle open to get whats left inside, as a lot would be disgarded if not done so. In the past, topical spiro creams i have used have all come in a jar, this just makes it much easier to access and utilize all of the product in the container. Just my thoughts.

Here is a pic:

I knew a guy years back that was going to a hair restoration clinic and he gave me this info. The basically measured his scalp area when they parted it.

As you saw, my hair is too short now to do that. Attempting to part it would be impossible at this length.

hope its working buddy, im still following along.

In for this too. My front hairline is up and back quite a bit, though no real diffuse thinning or anything in the back.

So far, from my observations and experience (and the feedback that is piling up) the product seems to be MOST effective with this kind of recession.

The diffuse thinning and crown area balding sufferers seem to be slower to respond.

So how are all you balding people doing in here?

Are your fingers regaining feeling?
And lol I check for a paperclip every single time I open this thread for gross pictures..:run:

Fingers are still the same. I got the stitches taken out today. This is going to take forever to heal up. It is still gaping.

18 Days in...no miracles yet...

Ahhh no gross pics. I'm suprised the stitches came out so early!

I am surprised also, but the doctor said I could have left them in for a month and it still would have just flopped open when he took them out. He said it has to heal from the inside out. I need feeling back in my fingers now, and I also need a thick flowing mane again!

Good to hear, since Minoxidil seems to only work in the back.

No comments on updated pics from anyone?!

In that last pic you posted it looks like there are some shorter newer hairs. But your hair is so much thicker than most that it is harder to see.

Do you have anyone watching it for you that can see close up?

Yeah, I know my hair is much thicker than most, but you wouldnt believe how thick it used to be. It is nothing compared to what it used to be. I just want to ensure it doesnt get any worse, and hopefully make a slight comeback. No one has said anything yet about my hair looking thicker. I want my front to fill in more and thicken up. If you noticed in either of my pics, I have a balding spot right in the front just a little bit back of the front of my hairline. It is odd how it is thinner there than other areas.

We need someone to take the first and last pics and put them next to each other. That gives an easier comparison.

What about someone to look at it for you? Is there anyone?

Uhhhh, I don't know if there is anyone. My wife continually contends that Im not balding which just enrages me. Do I need higher res pics for you guys?
Not sure what else I can do.

LOL well if she won't check for new growth if you could get a clear close up, maybe we could tell?

I am contemplating getting another haircut. This would be much sooner than I usually do, it is getting increasingly difficult to apply VM efficiently as my hair gets longer. I liked when it was super short, it was so easy to apply VM smoothly and consistently. I am going to try to get some more pictures up for you, any requests? I’m going to try to get them to be as sharp as possible.

My wife asked me last night if VM was working, I was like "WHAT?!?! You're the one supposed to be telling me that!!" It is very hard to tell, especially as the hair gets longer. Also, with my diffuse thinning, I would think it would take a while to experience "noticeable" change.
:afro:

I dont know, maybe it is just my hair getting longer, or I am seeing things. My hair seems to be thickening up some. I should get another haircut soon so I will be able to compare pictures. I really need to pick up some Toco-8, just no $$$$ right now to make a NP order.

Can't wait to see how the pics show up. Maybe we can get the same pics as the first set you did, then we can put them side by side to compare?

Odd, this morning when I went to run my hair under the sink to wet it and comb it, I noticed the water was running off my head looked like skim milk. I've never had that before with VM, perhaps I didnt rub it in good enough last night, or maybe I overapplied? You dont think it could be a case of ingrediants seperating in the bottle or anything to that degree, do you?

Do you shake it before you apply?

It works ;) Try shaking it, its hard to say since you have never had that happen before. It could have been anything.
