THE SUPPLEMENT GAME

thanks, you are right- a lot depends on being selective, and choosing reputable company's. if you look carefully at my list of supplements they all are tried and true.
on another note, i never said i got the benefits claimed by the manufacturer, only that i got some noticeable benefit from them.

What i meant was that just because a product is tried and true doesn't mean it will work for everyone. I think we just misunderstood what the other was saying. I apologize if thats the case.

It just comes down to the consumer and being careless. RESEARCH

if you look at my list of supplements i got no benefit from you will see-jacked[or any 1,3,dime product/anabolic pump/all epi products.-these are products that most people seem to like very much.
i stand behind the list of supps i listed as having been beneficial to me. look closely at that list!
also you should look at the list of things i made that i would consider making the product beneficial to me.

I mean isn't the whole purpose of this post the very reason forums like this exist? We all come here looking to find answers and to learn from others' experiences. There is a reason things that are peer reviewed are the most dependable. I am not talking about paid doctors and scientists. I am refering to all of us as peers. We are the consumer. We try something and if its crap we let each other know. Same way if the product is outstanding. If you read a product "review" from the company that creates it and it sounds a little too good to be true, it is. Do some homework...

You have a point here, but I think with regards to supplements, in the same way as not needing to put ones "head under a moving semi-truck" just to see if its dangerous or not, maybe we need to atleast do some research into any supplement we buy rather than set ourselves up for a "hit and miss" situation and find out the supplements crap and then realize we've wasted our money on it.

At the end of the day the more "obsecure, crap, underdosed, weak" supplements people buy just for the sake of seeing wether it will work or not, as opposed to researching more into it and being sure of wether or not it will give them the results they are looking for, the more un-needed money these companys will make from all of us falling into the same "hit and miss" supplement pit again, and again.

And until the companys that formulate worthless supplements have there profits dented seriously as a result of consumers being more aware of junk formulations, is a time when they may put more effort and thought into their next supplement before its dished out on the shelves.

Some people in general think that by taking a certian supp that they will see great results. A example fat burners a normal person sees this and buys it. After a week they scream it does not work it is a fraud. You come to find out that they eat at McDonald's and do no training. There are good supps and there are some bad ones. Supps are just that it will help with proper diet and training.

Unfortunately there will always be stupid people. No one wants to work hard and sacrifice. I have a cousin who is on a prescription weight loss pill because he is so obese, yet refuses to change he diet because he doesn't need to because "the pill takes care of it". We live in a lazy society.

Yeh its quite sad. 3 of my best friends are obese, one severely, the other 2 quite badly overweight and out of shape to, its kinda annoying lol.

Just couple of days ago, they sat down with fried burgers, and topped it off with fries, then some fatty chicken, as if that wasn't enough, one of my friends bought another fried burger to eat later that night as a "spare" and topped his fatty meal off with a 900calorie plate of cookie dough. As if that wasn't enough, he had the other burger next morning, fizzy drinks, then drove down to eat pizzas with my brother and topped it off with more sugary fatty cookie dough. Its so sad that people want to lose weight and eat like absolute sh*t. Sometimes I feel they deserve to be fat and pathetic for their complete lack of discpline and unwillingless to change their lifestyle. Oh well! Sad times lol

off topic i know but: for many years i drank alcoholically, my friends and family could not understand why i continued to drink with all the problems it caused me. fortunately i have been sober for 13 years now. i may not understand gambling addictions and food addictions but i have more sympathy than most for people who have lost self control to addictions.

agreed! imo, there is no difference in a 500 pound man stuffing his mouth with twinkies and a man dying of liver disease pounding straight vodka everyday.
