This thread is for all of us who are on injured reserved..ie messed up in some physical way and having to compromise workouts, mobility, et cetera.

It's designed to share treatment ideas and get an idea of the various results. It is in no way intended to replace the diagnosis and care of a real physician and is meant for informative and entertainment purposes only..so screw you FDA and various litigation happy attourneys out there:hammer:

B5150 is welcome to share his recovery here or in his other thread if he likes.

You'll heal B, of this I am sure.

Sprained the hell out of my ankle yesterday afternoon. Slipped off a concrete step while carrying a load of lumber into the garage. Fell downwards about 2 feet and landed hard on inward turned foot, pitched forward and slammed into concrete floor, the lumber I was carrying and all the rest of my tools.

Laid there gasping and panting..and yes cursing like a sailor from Hades.. for about 2 minutes thinking I could no longer work, workout, walk straight ever again et cetera, et cetera.

It definitely strained or even tore some ligament and tendons down there..I heard it and felt it on the outside portion of the ankle upwards to the calf musculature. Range of motion is ..is just not happening beyond a few degrees without me squealing like a leeettle gurl.

Then, like all men of compromised intelligence, I wrapped up my foot and ankle in Duct Tape and went back to work swelling up all the while.

I started a regimen of Oratropin-1, Cissus, grapeseed, Celadrin along with some topically applied Myrrh Oil last night and I have to say..I'm not doing too bad. It still hurts like a mofo, but the swelling has not intensified and I'm able to put some wieght on it today.

My hope is that the Oratropin/IGF-1/Cissus/Celadrin will speed the healing process so that I may get back to work and working out 100% ASAP. I have used this combo before with great success so I have some faith in it..hopefully it is not misplaced. Financially, I cannot afford a slowdown with my latest project house.

Damnit Bio....... our start player, on the DL.
Drop me a PM if you start running low on Cissus ;)

bioman,

That seems like a great stack to heal you fast. But that is relation to a new injury, especially oratropin-1 does a fantastic job.

Yet recently I was reading a tread by Max Silver on IBE's forum on his chronic tendenosis of his shoulder. Oratropin-1 didn't do his old chronic tendon injury much good, although I think he got some relief from celadrin and cissus at high doses.

I also have a 15 month old chronic tendon injury to my left achilles. I was concidering oratropin-1 before reading his tread, but now I'm not so sure. I'm currently using celadrin and some physical therapy using alternate hot/cold water with massage and stretching to the area. This hot/cold therapy has been far more effective in helping to heal this chronic injury than any supplement or hormone so far.

I believe the alternate hot/cold therapy would aid in new injury recovery as well, it'a seems to be kind of a shock therapy to the affected area that upscales the healing process for some hours aferwards. I simply use an extendable shower head and apply hot and cold water directly to the injured area.

I am waiting for a broken hand, sprained thumb, and inflammed medial epicondyle to heal up. Hopefully, I will be back within the next 4 weeks

Bio...Godspeed your recovery brother! That sounded brutal from your description!

Tuber...alt hot/cold is a great therapy.

Rodja...did that happen in this last fight?

Quick and successful recovery to all of you!

Still sort-of hobbled right shoulder. Can't do many chest exercises.

Still have a bad left knee. Can't put a whole lot of weight on it when squatting (unless I do a quarter rep or some stupid sh*t).

Elbow and thumb, yes; broken hand, no. I was at work and I slipped and hit my pinky knuckle on a metal sink.

Hand injuries are the worst...so many nerve endings...so annoying to lose the use of even one or two fingers. It is then that you realize how much you take your parts for granted, lol.

Lane- thanks bud! I'm stocked to the gills with Cissus..have 500 grams of powder staring at me right now.

Tuber- yep, "Ice is Golden" as my chiro likes to say. It's totally true. Kept the ankle duct taped up with an ice pack all last night. Soaking the foot intermittently in Epsom salts today and will probably do some warm soaking later..babysitting right now so can't stay still for too long.

Wil- definitely could have been worse all things considered. I thought for sure I broke it when it happened so there was a moment or two of panic.

Also taking 3 doses of Sesamin a day to further stave off inflammation. All of it seems to be working well so far. I have resisted the urge to use any NSAIDS so far and would like to keep it that way if I can.

Nutraplanet is going to have to start selling bulk bubble-wrap so you guys can wrap yourselves up in it all day.

Other than some sore msucles from pushing myself too hard with the weights the other day, I'm lucky enough to be of reasonably sound body (knock on wood).

I hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Just thinking of that hurts. I am so phobic of ankle injuries. The last time I did that I was holding my daughter and was stepping down out of a rent-a-car shuttle bus, looking directly at the "watch your step" sign. Stepped down what seemed like 20 feet onto a round curb and rolled it and could her it POP (so could my wife). "Son of a bia....aaatch" I yelled, out loud. Got some looks, as I was holding a beautiful little child in my hand. Fortunately, I believe the POP was actually a good thing, as it nevr swelled or hurt much more than an ache for a few days. I lucked out on that one.

I believe the RICE protocol is also helpful: Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation.

I am hopeful to see your positive results as it does look like something that will be in my protocol as well. I know that the Oratropin is oral, I am interested in hearing about your IGF-1 administration. You reminded me of my need for Cissus to be included in my treatment as well.;)

Laid there gasping and panting..and yes cursing like a sailor from Hades..
What concerns me here is that this MAY confirm the speculation that Hades does indeed have a military :smite:

Be well and sit on my right side...it's my good side :)

Just some patella tendonitits for myself from all the marathon running I've been doing. When it first flared up it hurt like a biatch, but now that I read what happen to you guys and the ankle injuries it feels a little better.:D Just an FYI, jumpers knee straps don't do squat. Ice, rest, repeat.

Feeling another 10-20% better today. Still stiff and hesitant to put foot through full range of motion but the swelling has subsided a good 60% and can walk semi-normal. Probably get worse by tonight after I run around doing errands all day.

I don't have much Oratropin so my dosing schedule is;

1 dose am, 1 dose pm for the first two days. Then one dose EOD for 3 more days until I run out.

This is the old version with only 40 mcg per syringe.

Also using pGHT at night. 3 doses of Cissus throught the day totalling about 9 grams (NP bulk powder). Sesamin 3x per day.

Hello, new poster here.

Currently dislocated my left shoulder twice about 6 weeks ago (anterior dislocation) wrestling. I have an MRI + Anthrogram tomorrow, and hopefully it will come out good, however the statistics should that my chances of suffering from another dislocation are around 90%, which is awful. My best option looks like arthroscopic surgery in which the recovery is 3-5 months. Anyone with a similar problem have any advice?

Bio I feel your pain Ive had the pleasure of rolling my ankle more time than i can count. Once you stretch all of the tendon your very susceptible of repeat injuries. Go and get you a ankle brace called active ankle it is very comfortable I wear one every day along with work books. Ive never rolled it wearing one I'm on my third one they are worth there weight in gold. Esp if your remolding my biggest fear is turning it on a ext. ladder 20ft up in the air. Good luck with the injury.

Thanks Brass. I'm doing much better now. The ankle is a little stiff but ROM is back to near 100% and no discernable swelling.

My right ankle is indeed stretched out from dozens and dozens of less severe rolls..usually while I was hiking in the mountains doing field biology. It has sent me to the ground on more than one occasion with a full pack on but this last time really hurt a lot more than usual so I knew it was a good tear.

IMO, Oratropin and Cissus fixed it up in record time. I sprained it this badly when I was a kid and it took about 4 months for the pain to go away. This time around, I was about 90% in about 10 days.

been having some off and on pain in my right side of my hip. I dont know what causes it, but I'll wake up and I'm not sure if it is a muscle or the actual joint, but it hurts every so often, like a sharp stab every once in a while. Started up Cissus @ 2g per day last week and advil, so I'm hoping it'll take care of whatever is wrong.

Ill grab a seat on the pine because of an injury I got about a month ago and progressed it throughout this tennis season.

About a month ago on my 9th rep on my final set of deads I was being, well in retrospect just being ignorant, and let my form get sloppy (not just the last rep but the last 3) and I felt a almost like poping but cant really explain it. Sparing details I started tennis season with a messed up lowerback and played through it pretty well up until a week ago when after a match I felt the pain significantly increasing.

Long story short went to the Doctor to finally deal with it and find out (I had a notion it was this) that I have a bulging or slipped disc in my lower back that is pinching a nerve. He said it could be herniated (but I doubt that as it doesnt hurt that much, I think he meant if I kept doing things it could become herniated.) And the toper is this week/weekend is NJ state tennis chamionships (and Im a senior) and I wasnt about to sit them out but damn Im scared of missing further gym time.

Right now I have to get a damn MRI as soon as the insurence company OKs it and then Physcial Therapy.

Long story short... watch your form on every rep.

O and I dont know of any other treatments that can help me. My doc has me taking 3 advil 3 times a day for antiinflamatory. Any other ideas from anyone would be much appreciated as maybe some of you have been in this situation?

About 3 years ago i had arthroscopic surgery on my right ankle for bone spurs and a chip on the inside of the snkle (forget the medical term). It wasnt that bad of recovery, however the ankle has degenerated and i might need surgery again evern though i haven't rolled it in 3 years.

I'm 10 days removed from Hip Surgery. I had what's called Hip Resurfacing and it's the young man's version of a total Hip replacement. Floyd Landis just had this done about 5 months ago. The FDA approved this procedure a year ago, though it's been done about 12 years now in Europe & India. I have a metal socket and a metal head that covers the top of my right femor. Pretty cool operation and I should be fully recovered in 6 months. I just start lifting lightly, upper body and I'm taking Cissus to speed up the healing process. I'm down about 8lbs from my pre-surgery weight.

I go to Vegas in 5 weeks, so my plan is to do a Cut using Fyre, then come back hard using Cissus-Drol after I return from Vegas.

bumping this thread back to life..

so basically since college humm 2003 when i blew my back out doing the sport CREW my back has never been the same or possibly 100percent.

my back doesnt bother me so much when i workout or do most things. maybe im to pumped up to notice my back or a mental thing but i know something deep inside is truly wrong with it.

all the doctors and i did every test in college came back and said i was fine. soo i did nothing but some rehap and chiro work and took that summer off and started lifting weights fulltime and it got better.

but till today 4 years later it still bothers me. hurts hwen i sneeze or cough lower back. hurts and sometimes really hard to get out of bed lower back. hurts when i lean forward sometimes like brushing teeth in my sink thing.

etc etc etc. ive been trying to pinpoint the pain lately and according to this picture it would have to be in this area.

also in many pictures of myself you can see that my posture although is semi ok my entire body turns slightly to one side and this is driving me crazy lookin in mirrow sometimes and in pictures..

notice how in above photo my belly button and middlechest do not line up

above picture same problem. when i was 220 heaviest ever

now this is where most of my pain is

I have/had the exact same problem. Blew out that same exact spot when I was about 21 or 22..bothered me ever since. Ironically..blew it out while hiking in some rugged terrain..NOT from hiking, but when I paused to sneeze. Then I had to limp back 7 miles to my truck. Was in agony for 2 years straight.

Mine's a twist in the L4 that also tilts downward on the left side. Pelvis is also tilted which compounds the problem.

Chiropracty helps a little, deep tissue a little more, trying to stay flexible is near impossible though. Best thing I have found for pain releif..traction. Get an inversion table or gravity boots and hang for several minutes per day. It really helps a lot.

Yea Im in the same boat as you guys are except im in the beggining stages of it and trying to help it as much as possible. I ruptured my L5 disc and its pressing on the S1 nerve causing some pretty intense pain both at the nerve site itself and down my right leg. Doctors are pushing for surgery but trying to avoid it.

Im interested in trying a inversion table but there pretty expensive but maybe I can try to pick one up cheap. Traction has helped a little bit at therapy but like you guys know theres really nothing to make it 100% like pre injury in a convinent time. I wish I had just broken my arm or leg or something.

yea hanging on the end of a big bell and leaning my pelvis down hurts so much yet i love that pain

i am however very flexible

hanging froma bar yes that can def stretch the area and sometimes hurts so much but simple things like sneezing man **** hurts so much

everytime i have to bend down to do anything nongym my back hurts. trying my shoes, getting my shoes on. anything simple like that i bascially treat myself anything i gotta get something low i pretend im squatting and make a strong stomach muscle hold my breath and i get no pain that way. but isnt that sad.

i still got no insurance so once i get it again trust me ill be going to doctors to get all my problems looked into

Always hurt- right now:

messed up hamstring
achilles issues
bad shoulder

Inversion tables are coming down in price. I think Costco has some pretty good deals. Gravity boots are fairly cheap..around $70-100 then all you need is a cheap chin up bar. The gravity boots are a bit more intense and harder to get in and out of, but I like them. In 3-5 mintues of hanging I feel like I did an hour of yoga.

My overall strategy is to open up those disk spaces as much as I can while pumping up disk volume with things like Celadrin/glucosamine/MSM..and of course, Cissus.

I'm still stiff but not in constant pain and can lift normally most days.

Usually the worst is when I try to walk down the stairs in the AM....

Hmm I may have to check out Costco (Havent been there in a while since food buying has been low with the non lifting.)

Since last Monday I have been waking up in really bad pain (I guess from the lack of movement during the night) but it has really gotten bad. Doctors are pushing hard for surgery (Im assuming they will want to do a microdiscetomy (which I was really weary of at first but its beggining to sound tempting.)

Have you guys ever considered surgery to help with your disc problems or have you remained with the heal it yourself? Thats what Im hoping to do but I feel like I take 1 step forward and then 2 back.

This is exactly what happened to me almost 3 years ago...L5/S1. The sciatic pain was unbearable the whole time, and with dropfoot, I opted for the surgery. The surgery really was a miracle for me. No more pain, able to lift heavy, and am just blessed that it went well.

Right now I pulled a hammy last week, hoping for that to heal up soon.

Mine's not bad enough for surgery, fortunately. I get regular chiropracty to keep it all in check.

Since my pelvis is tilted, I have to be careful with heavy deads and squats..but currently, that's my only real limitation.

Definitely lost leg strength though since the ankle sprain. Down to 850-875 on the leg press.

Lower back issues that have yet to be fully diagnosed other than they are pretty sure it is a nerve issue. it has all but limited my ability for full cardio like running or swimming or weights in exercises like squats or deadlifts. Anti Inflam's have made it possible to somewhat work around this issue but it has far from relieved me of all the pain.

Add me to the disabled list...ruptured my achilles playing basketball recently...had no prior symptoms of achilles issues, just ruptured most likely from being a weekend warrior and not stretching it, and it was actually the first time I played in well over a year...had surgery a week and 1/2 ago and have another 4 weeks on crutches and then another 2 in just a walking boot...and of course all this as I was hitting all PR's in the gym as well as overall body mass ....went to the gym twice on crutches while I was waiting to have surgery...so all in all I've been 2 times in the last 3 weeks and havent been to the gym for over 2 weeks...which SUCKS... can't wait to hope on a scale to see how many lbs I lost, which has been certainly muscle loss as cal's have dropped..man I miss the WO's & the PUMP... its no fun but I stopped harping on it after the first week and now I am on the road to recovery....post surgey soreness finally subsided and I have been able to reduce pain medication by 70% as of this past thursday.. so this coming week I should be able to resume some sort of upper body workouts at the gym but I'm still on the 40 day DL...

add this guy to the list...messed up my left shoulder- have some kind of lump that is sometimes squeshy/sometimes hard at the end of my colar bone where it meets the shoulder. most pain i've ever been in- when it actually hurts. waiting on my osteobolin-c to get here (crossing fingers that it will help)

thats exactly one of my problems. i now got a bigger lump there then before. it feels fine now but took over a year to go away. and time off did NOTHING.

Dont eat egg, sea food, beef, hot sauce, peanut, acidic food when ur'e injured..makes the pain last longer and wont heal as faster at a normal rate just to let u guys kno

Wow..I have never heard this bro....do you have something you can post to validate and back this statement?..thx man

I know peppers, tomatoes and potatoes can be bad..anything in the Family Solanaceae has compounds that enhance inflammation somehow.

well there's some other foods i didnt list but i got the information from a chinese osteologist that had helped me fixed my knee
