Ample Hills A Night At The Movies:

Do you like candy? If you do then this limited edition pint has your name all over it. The popcorn base was far from being true to its name. The amount of butter was minimal in this offering. Which lead me to conclude it tasted close to a vanilla based ice cream. The inclusion of salt was a huge swing and miss from first to last bite. The amount of mix-ins helped this pint, but can't give it an A grade on its own. If you love candy and enjoy mix-ins this has a place in your heart. Good, but not great, Ample Hills could do a bit more work on this one.

Grade: B-

My sis got married in June. Her fiancée is a candy lover (he eats sour keys daily) so they had a candy bar at night.

They asked me to set it up for them - BIG Mistake lol

This was just ok... Had higher hopes for the flavors and more toppings would've been nice Invalid Link Removed

Oh and not being able to serve myself severely limited the portions haha

Home made poptarts

Cinnamon Apple Pie, Chocolate Frosted Peanut Butter, and Birthday Cake

These are "healthier" with higher protein and fibre, but they tasted good enough I thought I'd share here.

Recipe for these somewhere?

That's a cool idea. Never would've thought of that

My first use of that Vitafiber prize I won, is what made the toppings and a bit in the middle.

Maybe 1/3 as much as would be used in a bar, so not too heavy on the stomach and I ended up liking the texture of it between the crumbly bits of crust. The crust was spiced like gingerbread for the Apple Pie, baked like a cookie

I'll get these photographed and posted, though it was also tempting as an option for an E-book chapter

I see you are on that Soup time when it comes to your ice cream game lately.
You must have as much luck at your wedding as I do with Salt & Straw shipping :)

Coming from the guy who plowed through my baked goods at the arnold, and went for round 2 :)

FALSE! I breezed past round 2 into round 3 ...FTW.

You know my thoughts on your baking lol, just trying to motivate for you next week ;)

When a friend of mine got married they had a Cookie Bar ... It was so good!

I don't go to a lot of wedding, Funerals are more common at my age !!!

Hit up a seafood restaurant near my parents house last night.

Chef Vishal's Beet Salad:
Dark red & yellow beets, baby mixed greens lightly coated with balsamic vinaigrette & topped with goats cheese & toasted almonds.

Heaven on a bun:
Double Stack Halibut burger, lightly dusted & deep fried golden brown piled high with slaw, tomato & tartar sauce served on a toasted brioche bun accompanied by Walkers fries (subbed for salad).

Krispy Kreme:

Creme Brûlée: filling was really good, topping didn't add much (6.5/10)
Churro: surprised me how well they executed this (7/10)
Tiramisu: similar to creme brûlée , the filling was great but this topping added a little flavour (8/10). Coffee lovers will enjoy this one.

At my sisters wedding, everyone said that I should do a donut bar.

I was like nah, I would ignore my guests all night ha

I'd crash a donut bar wedding.

Zero fcks given who's.

Google a recipe, there are several. Off the top of my head, take a wrap of your choice, cut it in half, put whatever in the middle (pretty much a sludge and some fruits), use a fork to crimp the edges, make a frosting of your liking.

Amy's Donuts:
Vanilla MilkyWay
Rocky Road Glaze
Peanut MnM
Snickers Almond
Coffee Crumb Cake

IHOP:
Banana Crepes with Nutella
Red Velvet Pancakes
Cinnamon Swirl Brioche French Toast
Always got to ask for that extra icing....

Walmart accidentally had these marked $1.00 on the shelf. They rang up $3.98, however they honored the dollar. I would have bought cases, but I had never tried the chicken ones.

Had a layover at the Toronto airport and Tim Horton's was my "best choice". Good lord, what a piece of sh*t.

I complain about Subway but at least the cookies there are enjoyable and the subs - although "industrial" tasting - have their upside when in a pinch.

Ate two different sandwiches...which one was drier and breadier than the other...o but surely the chocolate whoopie pie was going to save the day? Nope. Even worse. Straight up cardboard texture in the dough and a filling that captured all the worst aspects for cheap whipped cream and false promises.

We could have warned you!

Tim's is not a good sandwich place at all, and their pastries are super generic

If you're ever stuck in London (we have an international airport, 2 hours from Toronto) I'll take you for lunch lol

Frankly, I am ashamed for the impression the capital of our province gave you. There are a couple better options at Pearson but in some areas of the terminals, it is slim pickings.

What is funny, is I had the whoopie pie donut a couple months ago at work (for free obvs) ... I thought it was better than most of Tims donuts even though the donut part was a bit dry. (5/10 at best)

I'm taking you up on it, but get ready for a very large bill.

Yeh, the airport food offerings were not very tempting and fairly ridiculously priced. At least, at Tim Hortons I got more "food" for my money.

After eating DiBella's, their sandwiches taste like a dog's a$$ hole.

But at what cost to your palate?

I have never sampled one of those personally, so I will take your word for it !!
