Choco Chip Oreo's
6/10

Taste pretty similar to a regular oreo. Nothing novel about the Chocolate Chip or cream in this one.

milktooth is an Indy spot that I had never been to before unfortunately. It was ranked #10 by Bon Appetit in their list of "America's Best New Restaurants 2015" and their ever rotating menu has always looked appealing, so this weekend it was a must.

Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

the milktooth double: two lamb & beef patties, american cheese, steamed onions, fancy sauce & shredded romaine.

ancient grain porridge: coconut milk, strawberry amaro preserves, pistachios, hemp seeds.

korean bbq fried chicken wings: sesame, scallions, lime.

local berry dutch baby pancake: cucumber curd, cashews, powdered sugar.

I won't go into each item individually, but know that they were each absolutely brilliant. Well earned reputation. Fortunately, they also have an incredibly talented pastry chef so I picked up some goods and across the street from them is a top notch bakery called Amelia's that I like. Putting together all the items from both:

pecan sticky bun (sage coconut caramel), twice baked hazelnut stuffed croissant, salted rye brownies, blue barley flour oatmeal chocolate chip, peanut butter oat cookie; all worth repeating, but of highest ranking is this brownie (best I've ever had including ny bakeries) and the peanut butter cookie was rich enough for it to feel like eating pb out of the jar. And at Amelia's they also had fresh Bombolini's on the menu:

Think of the best jelly stuffed donut you can remember, but fill it with pastry cream instead.

Finally...there is the fact that in Indy, it's impossible to get true neapolitan pizza, but there is a place in Bloomington called King Dough that makes wood oven fired pizza...and they happened to have their mobile oven in Indy for the weekend...parked right outside Amelia's :) Dove right into the pizza, but I remembered to save this picture for you folks.

Tomatoes, fresh mozz, pepperoni, ricotta, capers, extra virgin olive oil, and post-bake shaved salted egg yolks (read up on this last ingredient and do incorporate it into your arsenal m8s). On. Point.

Krispy Kreme Flavors of the World Doughnuts.
The cookie jar donuts were kinda meh... I don't think these will be much better.

The Churro Doughnut is a cake doughnut rolled in a cinnamon and sugar blend. It has 190 calories, 9 grams of fat, 4 grams of saturated fat, 210 milligrams of cholesterol, 28 grams of carbohydrates, 16 grams of sugar, and 2 grams of protein.

The Crème Brûleé doughnut is stuffed with vanilla bean custard, dipped in dark caramel icing, and topped with Crème Brûleé flakes. It has 360 calories, 20 grams of fat, 8 grams of saturated fat, 1 gram of trans fat, 170 milligrams of sodium, 42 grams of carbohydrates, 18 grams of sugar, and 5 grams of protein.

Finally, there the new Tiramisu Doughnut. It features a classic Krispy Kreme shell filled with Tiramisu Kreme, dipped in dark chocolate Tiramisu icing, and topped with dark chocolate drizzle, chocolate cake crumbs, and a chocolate coffee bean

Decent. The #1 flavor is not chocolate, it's this obnoxious burnt granola aspect. Very crunchy and that's enjoyable however. Worth trying but certainly not 10/10 as you've seen elsewhere. The new Chocolate Honey Bunches of Oats is a much better move.

Glad someone tried these. I was eyeballing them. I love the og ones (weird/boring I know) so I'd prob really enjoy

either or both ha. i like them all

Interdasting. I have the other Oat Bites awaiting consumption as well but never got around to picking up the Cracklin' Oat Bran.

If you like crunchy cereals, indulge in some Puffins. Some find them boring but Im a big fan (pb, choc/pb, cinnamon, multgrain all great in that order).

Have not tried these because when I picked up the elephant ones (Jungle Munch) after an Eriktheelectric rave review, I came away disappointed. Found them to disintegrate too easily (similar texture to captn crunch caramel popcorn) and lack a strong flavor. Might give them a go if you suggest tho.

Always glad to try a true pb cereal (pb puffins and pb bumpers are my fav in this respect) flavored; Reese's Puffs tend too far into the sugary pb side to qualify.

Hmmm, I found those bland. My fav pumpkin cereal was probably the Pumpkin O's from TJ's (Pumpkin Mini Wheats second).

Pumpkin o's were good but totally different this year vs the year before. So much better the first year. They were actually pumpkin baked not just the glazed version like this year.

Anyone ever try Legendary Foods Nut Butters?
The company reached out to me to try a few jars and sample packs of their nut butters

really excited for the cinnamon bun nut butter

^^^ Only just recently heard of them through junkbanter (or was it junkfoodguy) - whoever it was, the bb cinn & pecan pie sound great!

Never saw those before either. I do have a cinn bun powder pb (fit something) and it's amazing.

Peanut Butter Cup - Nut Butter Sounds Awesome !!

Poverty snack to hold me over until restaurant eats during weekend:

Smoking Goose Mortadella (as in not Bologna) crisped in pan, American Cheese, Egg, Honey Butter, Brioche Bun. First bite, yolk all over my hands....das it.

That a miso paste?

It's a type of miso paste mixed with a bunch of other stuff. Kind of like the most epic miso paste around

Good to go:

Natural and strong almond flavor (+ actual almonds) , very good granola clusters , fake cheerios actually work (add different crunchy texture).

Always see you guys posting doughnuts, and I finally caved in. Went to a bakery down the street, and bought these bad bois for a staggering $2.10 lol. The doughnuts were crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Perfect. Controlled myself, and basically had a bite of each. Can't wait to eat more after work today!

Way to pace yourself !!

That Peanut Butter Cup sounds good .... but anything with the words Peanut Butter in the name sounds good !!

Caved in? You only had a bite of a couple. I am not saying have all six if it doesn't fit with your routine or whatever, but new donut place you should have at least 1-2 fresh. You can always freeze the leftover as well.

Lol yea I know, bought them more for the weekend. Im probably going to eat two of them today after work though. Freezer is a good idea though, didn't really think about that. Not a doughnut expert like yourself haha.

:wizard:

Buy more often and you will be lol. Make sure you store in a freezer bag or tub and you should put them in as soon as you can too.

It's difficult to practice moderation. ITT people eat a dozen pastries or 1/12th of a single one.

Poverty meal at Petite Chou:

Croque Madame: Ham, gruyère, béchamel, dijonnaise, fried egg, on brioche loaf. Served with seasonal greens dressed in shallot tarragon vinaigrette.

Invalid Link Removed

Petite Chou Burger: Indiana Black Angus blend, brie, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, brioche bun.

Duck Fat Pommes Frites with Dijonnaise.

Harrison’s crepe: Fresh berries, warm chocolate ganache, crème anglaise.

Burger was the best dish. Combination of brie + caramelized onions & mushrooms has very nice creamy/moist texture and sweetness.

Well you know.. eating 6-12 donuts in a sitting is moderation bro..
Eating thousands of calories in the matter of 10 minutes is good food practice :)

Well when you get donuts as good as these eating 6 ain't too tough lol.

Donut Monster
- Cherry Walnut fritter x2
- Strawberry Balsamic dip
- Crunchy Peanut Butter & Jam
- Kitchen Sink x 2

The - Crunchy Peanut Butter & Jam - sounds really good !!

Never said it was hard
Just not always ideal :)
Almost all of us can eat 6 donuts in the blink of an eye

Welcome to America and why we are obsese most people
Do that and chug down a coffee with 20 sugars and 10
Creamers lol

So these exist now?

Saw it at my local WalMart

^might try, would be more tempted if it had some PB, or Oreo cream filling/icing

Tortas Guicho Dominguez y El Cubanito:

Torta Cubana: bolillo roll packed with egg, chorizo, grilled hot dog, smoked pork, mozzarella cheese and pineapple over turkey, ham, american cheese, queso fresco, tomato, avocado, and mayo.

Fresh cucumber slices with chili powder, salt, and lime juice.

Take your Chipotle burrito, deposit it in the trash, and aware yourself on these.

Tinker Street:

Pork Belly: Kimchi, Forbidden Rice, Sorghum Glaze, Farm Egg.

Invalid Link Removed

S'more Pot de Crème: Marshmallow, Hickory, Ash.

Dessert was good but the highlight was the pork belly. Crispy outer fat layer, yet soft and buttery inside fat consistency coating the meaty portions. This kimchi enhanced forbidden rice had a strong sweet soy sauce type flavor due to the glaze. Of course, the runny egg yolk tied all these flavors together wonderfully.

Had to stop by Amelia's again too:

Focaccia (seasoned with rosemary, sage, parsley, garlic, fresh parmesan & olive oil), Brownie, Salted Chocolate Buckwheat Cookie, Kouign Amann (think croissant plus an additional layer of caramelized sugar folded in), Chocolate Chip Cookie, Fig Jam Coffee Cake, (fig jam sandwiched between a moist lemon cake with a cream cheese cinnamon-almond streusel).

This is what a fudgy cookie with a proper browniesque crinkly crust looks like inside:
