The Contender - Season Two

I heard on the radio the other day that ESPN has picked up Stallone's show, The Contender, for a second go-round.

I have my doubts that they could duplicate what I thought was a great show the first season, but I'm glad Sly's show got picked up.
 
I'm looking forward to The Ultimate Fighter 2 on the Spike channel. First episode airs next Monday at 11 PM EST. The fighters are much bigger this time.

I agree. Great show, and you have to wonder if they can get a bunch of guys that are so easy to care about (most of them). Almost every week it was hard for me to take a side. I just hope ESPN doesn't screw it up, they don't have a great track record for producing good TV shows like that.
 
The Contender and the Ultimate Fighter 2 will be two great shows. Although I thought The COntender was great, I think they can smooth out some of the rough edges, such as during the fight scenes with the sound effect punches, and Sugar's commentary during the challenges.
 
I think they could speed up the show... the 'challenges' and what-not so as to be able to show the entire fight sans editing.

Last season's best was the 'bronze' fight between Gomez and Brinkley. That was just flat-out awesome. The main event was disappointing, especially after that.

But, I'm just glad someone picked it up. It is about the only network-aired reality show that actually had reality in it.
 
Yea that voice over crap from all of them is really gay on the cont. Sly and Ray both have gay voice over crap!! Ult. Fighter 2 is gonna kick ass ive been watching the fights that have come on spike tv on mon nights.
 
FANTASTIC show I loved it.


On another note. Those challenges were a JOKE! The winning team got to pick who fought who right?

I think the first 4 teams who won the challenges and picked the fight ended up LOSING the fight. How stupid where the guys not to realize they didn't have a CLUE who could beat who.

They should have just dogged the challenges so they saved their strength for the fight.

Great show. I'd also like to see less commentary by sly during the fights. His comments were stupid most of the time. I think the best fight was the semifinal fight between Manfredo and Gomez. If you look on Yahoo you can watch all the fights.

On October 15 at 11:00 espn is having the rematch between Manfredo and the guy who beat him in the finals. Can't remember his name.
