It was the exact opposite...GVT murdered me!. That sh*t is intense. I cannot even flex like I usually do after the gym, I am spent.

Workout:

GVT day 1, chest/back

A1) flat bench, 10x10 with 185lb
A2) BB bent over rows 10x10 with 185lb
B1) Incline DB flies 3x10 with 50lb DB
B2) DB rows 3x12 with 75 DB

ABS

trunk flexion machine
130lb x10x10x10x10x10
superset with half ball crunches
10x10x10

I was f**king spent after this gym session. I have never really tried a workout routine such as this. I can see how it can get someone huge though =)

GVT + TEST = Massive

Nice work man. I threw up a ton of water today in the parking lot after my leg session. I could barely walk out of the gym.

Oh sh*t haha legs is tomorrow..I keep reading how professional lifters limp for a week after leg day.

The pumps were those kind of pumps to where you are useless. I couldn't flex and I can fell my pecs shaking with fatigue when I was driving home lol.

Doubtful. A lot of pros say they don't even get DOMS anymore. They also run a lot of gear. So I kinda doubt they're hobbled for a week.
 
My chest is destroyed! I haven't felt soreness like this in a very long time. I'm useless today! Today is legs/abs. I might take today off because I work all day and hit it tomorrow since I have a full day off. I will see how I feel after work.
 
I am making a substitution in my GVT training. Since traps is something I wanted bigger from this cycle I will take out abs and sub them with traps. I like to hit abs almost everyday after my work outs so I do not need them with leg day. I will do DB shrugs 10x10. Yeah, I do not want a neck.

What you should do is how I am doing it. on my shoulder day I am turning it into a Tri Set. B-1 is Arnold Presses, B-2 Lateral Raises, B-3 DB Shrugs. I am bumping it up to 4x10 with 30 Second rests inbetween sets and 60 Seconds between B-3 and B-1. I will be doing this thursday and see how it goes.

Leg day will be painful for you man. Trust me. you wont want to do 10x10 DB shrugs after those squats.

I didn't think about that lol. Question dave, it says 90 sec rests for supersets...I haven't seen any super sets in the program. Is it up to the trainee to throw them in?

It counts A-1 and A-2 as a superset. Its A-1 exercise, 90 Sec rest, A-2 Exercise, 90 Sec rest, Back to A-1 exercise. If you add a third exercise then it becomes a Tri-Set.

So should I be alternating a1 and a2? Example: 10 reps a1. Then 10 reps a2, until I reach the 10 set count?

Yes 10 reps of each exercise.
 
That makes sense. I did it wrong yesterday. I did 10x10 a1 then 10x10 a2 seperately.

Yeah doing it the way I said makes it all supersets. Its a awesome concept in that it works opposing muscle groups. So on chest/back day you hit chest for 10 reps, 60 second rest then a back exercise, 60 second rest and back to Chest. Its about 2 minutes of recovery before you assualt a muscle group with 10 more reps. If its 90 second rest its just over 3 minutes. I am only doing 60 seconds for that reason. 2 minute rest for a muscle group is plenty in my opinion.

If you ever read about Arnolds workout he was one of the first guys that used the opposing mucle group superset approach. He then started doing tri-sets and even quad sets in his routines. It allows more work on mucles in a shorter amount of time resulting in massive fiber damage and growth. I love supersets and have always used them in my workouts ever since I wrestled in Highschool.

Yes. I added db shrugs to make a tri-set on shoulder day.

I tried to give it to my girl from behind while on cycle after a leg day. I cramped from the ball of my left foot all the way to my glutes. I was like... oh yea oh yeah... oh my god that **** hurts. She freaked out when she realized i was in pain.
