TGR's Modified PowerBuilding v2.0

Strong OHP! Congrats on the incline press PR! Getting stronger man!

Some good lifts there! Excellent job

Solid pressing man!

Thanks AT. They are progressing, at least. All I can ask for.

Nice job bro.. feeling all better? And ya get them the next time round!

As of today the cough Is all gone. No more sides. :)

I forgot to mention that on OHP this week on every rep I "re-started", or brought it back to my chest, as opposed to going below my chin and bouncing back up. I saw Sam on Instagram do it this way.

Just out of curiosity, kinda just a poll, how do you guys do it? Constant TUT or back to starting position each rep?

I would do both. As both are beneficial.

Killing it Thomas! Glad you're feeling better! I do both for the OHP as well.

Still some solid work. You are gonna love it when you get your belt :D

It's been exactly one month, so maybe any week now...

Thanks Rob.

!

When i first got my lever belt I was not used to the height of it.. did the same thing.. but didnt take much to get used to.. and such a superior piece of equipment

What'd you finally decide on? 5wks is pretty fast for a belt man....I've seen 10-12wks more often than not, unless it was stocked (and if it was direct from Inzer, that didn't matter).

And btw I do both on OHP. If it's heavier I'll usually reset. If it's an 8 rep or higher, or if I'm warming up, I usually just pump the muscles.

Which size did you get?

13mm Lever Belt, blue.

And you shut your mouth. Lol

I don't want to wait another month... but whatever.

I forgot to note all my squats are low bar. No need to do any more high bar if I want to switch over.

I felt like on the lighter weights either the bar would bounce up higher on my traps or I was pushing it up because my arms were so tight. Is that normal?

Rest day.

Now to figure out where I want my rest day calories to be. This is the first non-sick rest day I've had in a few weeks.

I get to go pick my truck up after work today, $1300 later...

Oh, and no glute DOMs at this point. DL day might come quick...

Lack of DOMS doesn't necessarily mean you're recovered, man!

it's still a minimum of 3 days away. I'm just saying I don't need extra recovery time.

Ouch on the $1300! No ouch=no DOMS! Beast!

That's rough about your truck! What was wrong with it?

What is this "no DOMS" you speak of? I've never experienced this! Lol

Fuel pump went out and I had to have the water pump replaced too.

Lol. Some DOMs are kicking in now. Isn't yet extreme.

Ouch 1300 for a water and fuel pump.. A good belt is a must I got a 10 mm longhorn lever. Makes me feel like I'm gonna burst when I push out against it, it's awesome.

I guess starting tomorrow I'll go to a flat foot bench. :(

I really cannot wait.

Strong squating man. I get that at times with my cheap tapered belt. I really need and to get an inzer belt or something but not sure if a 10 or a 13mm would suite my body type.

10mm is good for everything. 13mm is....bulky. Mainly for squatting. I know someone that uses it for everything, but this is a guy who can wear wrist wraps tightened for an hour at a time, so he's crazy.

I have a 10mm Longhorn Lever like capo180 and it's awesome. Tons of support. I never feel like I wish there was more.

Really didn't research the difference. I better like the 13mm. What's 3mm? Lol

Thanks Allen.

Why flat foot bench?

USAPL doesn't allow a non-flat foot. I'd hate to have to switch a couple months out.

Every mm counts ;)

Not familiar with their rules, but some feds don't allow a 13mm belt in raw divisions....just saying. I know SPF allows it, but they're a pretty casual fed in general (no disrespect; we have a lot of feds because people want different things).

Any reason you're confining yourself to the usapl?

It seemed to be a popular one, and the last local search I did the majority were USAPL. I really don't care much, just thought maybe that's what'd end up being.

Meh. I can always get another belt then. Maybe I can find a lax one tho. I'm not looking to break any records, just to have the experience of it all.

^ A couple pauses needed. They were superset with leaning Delt raises: 25×15, times 12, times 12. I forgot to log them.

I'm going to do some voodoo flossing tonight. My left bicep has a lot of discomfort from benching. I need to go through Lifts log to remember what he does for it, if u can find it.

3400 calories today.

Pressing machine. Nice job on those PRs! Voodoo floss works great for me.

I wear compression cuffs and altered my grip on low bar (the cause of my bicep pain). Bringing my grip into pinkies on the rings helped too.

Pinkies on rings for squat?

Are the Slingshot compression sleeves worth anything?

USAPL will allow a 13mm belt. They're the strictest of Feds, too.

As for sleeves, they'll give you bare minimal support. Not comparable to wraps at all. They'll just keep your knees warm and feeling good.

Rehband is expensive but worth it.

Do you have these?

I was more referring to arms/bicep support. I don't think I'm ready or need knee wraps.

However, does the same apply to arm sleeves as knee sleeves?

ah sorry, I read the wrong!

the compression cuffs are def legit. I know one guy that wears the arm sleeves for his elbow joint, and another wears cuffs for the bicep. Both swear on it. I'll wear a wrist wrap on my arm if mine acts up (slingshot cuff would be easier)

Slingshot compression cuffs are definitely worth it!

And no, I was referring to pinkies on the rings for bench press. Any wider seems to aggravate my bicep tendons.

Hmm. Today I started other pinkie on rings and it started to feel uncomfortable. I moved the second to last set in and the final set out, but at that time it was too late to tell of it was less aggravating. I'll play with it and go look at the Slingshot cuff.

I want to get some slingshot cuffs myself. They are on my wish list for sure. 13 mm is a bulkier belt, but I've never worn one so I couldn't tell you the difference feel wise. The 10 mm is uncomfortable enough for deads though, I'd imagine a 13 would be worse.

It surely can't be any worse than what I'm already wearing. It's gotta be larger than 13 from the back to the start of my obliques, then it's tiny woven samurai swords. Lol

Sooooo much gainz in your thread, Thomas!!

I own the Rehband Strongman version. You can clinch the upper and lower straps to help put pressure on the muscles:
